The ‘Gossip Girl’ looked striking in Elie Saab — but is wearing a jacket without a shirt a trend you would be willing to try?

Blake Lively was a step ahead of the game in NYC last night, when the star showed off a hot spring trend — a colored suit! Her electric blue Elie Saab pantsuit, complete with lace-detailing on the shoulders, had a feminine and flattering fit. The bold star took a risk on the red carpet, opting not to wear anything underneath the jacket, just like the model did when she came down the runway!

It isn’t surprising that Blake would take the plunge — in fact, the star always seems to be keep the focus on her assets! While the jacket only has one button, it looks like Blake had an extra fastener added, (perhaps tape or a snap), to keep the top in place. It’s definitely a severe look, but the stylish star managed to pull it off in a chic, high-fashion way — way to go, Blake!

Get ready to see a lot more of these ensembles on the red carpet. While I’m sure Blake won’t be the only star to take the plunge sans shirt, do you think this trend will translate to real life?

If you find a jacket with proper construction that will keep you covered, you can definitely try it out — although honestly, I don’t think this is a look many can pull off. I don’t know about you, but I would be constantly petrified of popping out! Rather than baring it all like Blake, a light silk tank is probably your best bet. You could even opt for a lacy bandeau or tank if you’re trying to achieve a more flirty and fun look.

We went backstage before the show, where the designer told us all about the colorful collection — and told us what we all should have in our closets come spring!

Nanette Lepore always has a fun and feminine collection, so I wasn’t surprised to hear the designer say she’s excited that bows are back — and feminine silhouettes. We chatted with her about the slew of neon combinations in her collection — and how she decided to spruce up the standard suit! I was a bit surprised, however, when she told us which celeb she’s dying to see in her clothes — because she said Lady Gaga! Come backstage with us & see what else she had to say!
