Kate Upton’s Sexy Hair On ‘Sports Illustrated’ Cover

Since the cover was shot in Antartica, there was definitely a weather-induced challenge to make sure her hair looked picture perfect. Check out Peter’s expert tips on how to get Kate’s look:

“It was a real challenge, the first day we arrived there was a blizzard and I was just thinking that it was all going to be a disaster. Thankfully, the next five days there was sun every day!

To create Kate’s look for the cover, I applied Leonor Greyl’s Mousse au Lotus Volumatrice and then began blowing out her hair with a large round brush.

Then, I applied the Spray Structure Naturelle all over and began curling big sections of her hair with a large barrel curling iron.

With the temperature in the teens, hair that is highlighted or colored can become extremely brittle, so Leonor Greyl’s Éclat Naturel was the hero product of the day.  I used the Éclat Naturel after brushing her hair out to soften it up and give some separation. In the frigid weather, the cream actually ended up turning into more of a paste because the formula is so natural.  It worked out perfectly since it was so dry there that it was almost like working in the desert.  The Éclat kept the hair manageable and didn’t get greasy or anything.  The hair just drank it up!

Lastly, I set her hair with the Leonor Grey Lacque Souple and also used it to maintain the look throughout the shoot.

At the end of the day, we did a double treatment with the Huile de Magnolia and then the Masque Quintessence.  These products are the best conditioning formulas!”

The red carpet event brought out a bevy of bombshells including Kate Upton, Cintia Dicker, Jessica Gomes, Julie Henderson, Ariel Meredith, Genevieve Morton, Jessica Perez, Chrissy Teigen, Anne V, Adaora, Nina Agdal, along with 2013 SI Swimsuit rookies Natasha Barnard, Kate Bock, Hannah Davis, Emily Didonato and Katherine Webb.

As models and Sports Illustrated executives filled Marquee’s main room, DJ Vice hit the turntables while video footage of the models’ photo shoots from all seven continents played on the 40-foot LED screen, showcasing the exotic destinations found in the magazine.

Cover girl Kate Upton was spotted chatting with DJ Calvin Harris and singer-songwriter John Legend was present to support his fiancé Chrissy Teigen. The two were seen mingling at a VIP booth with friends and other models.

Ariel Meredith, Genevieve Morton, Jessica Gomes, Julie Henderson, Kate Bock, Natasha Barnard, and Nina Agdal also sparkled wearing Forevermark Diamonds to the event.

Kate is not only the star of the pages of Sports Illustrated, but she also landed the cover!

On the 2013 cover of SI, Kate is “Polar Bare.” Standing on a cruise ship with a backdrop of huge ice caps, Kate looks sexy and sultry while showing her ample bosom in nothing but a fur lined ski jacket and some white bikini bottoms. Well, at least she had a coat to keep herself warm.

Kate is not the first celebrity to appear on the pages of a magazine wearing nothing but a smile and some paint, as Demi Moore appeared on the August 1992 cover of Vanity Fair in her “birthday suit,” which was a suit made of paint. Kim Kardashian appeared on the pages of W magazine in 2010 painted all in silver, looking like a very sexy robot.

We had a sneaking suspicion Kate Upton was going to be Sports Illustrated‘s cover girl for its widely anticipated swimsuit issue — and low and behold, look how sexy the 19-year-old model appears on the cover, which leaked Feb. 13.

The billboard wasn’t supposed to be revealed yet, but someone snapped a shot and it spread virally almost immediately.

Sources close to the publication tell the New York Post that Kate’s all-American looks have made her the one to beat for the cover.

“There’s a lot of talk about Kate in general,” the source says. “It really comes down to the best picture wins.”

Meanwhile, Kate herself downplayed the cover rumors.

“All I can really say is that I’m in the issue,” she says. “Fingers crossed!”
