Shaun White, 26, is almost as famous for his flowing, fiery red locks as he is for his snowboarding skills. After all, he is the Flying Tomato! He shocked us all by cutting off his signature style — but it’s for a good cause!

This bold haircut choice was documented by Shaun in a YouTube video chronicling the cut. After one last flip of his voluminous curls, he bravely went through with his decision! He was definitely second-guessing himself after getting in the stylist’s chair, and he looked anxious and worried  as it was happening, but there was no turning back after the first few snips.

This decision was a last minute move on Shaun’s part, as he didn’t let anyone around him know that he was making the cut. Shaun decided to donate his entire ponytail to Locks of Love, a charity that uses donated hair to create wigs for financially disadvantaged children suffering from hair loss or medical conditions that cause long-term hair loss. “I did it for you, Locks of Love,” he says in the YouTube video. Haircut justified!

While we applaud his social consciousness, we are simply shocked that he switched up his sporty style! His new shorter cut looks more mature and business casual: so not what we picture on an edgy pro snowboarder! We wonder if he is going to eventually try to grow it out again.

Uh-oh, Shaun White is in trouble! The Olympic snowboarder has been arrested after allegedly destroying a hotel room while in a drunken stupor, TMZ reports.

The website’s sources say that Shaun was in a Nashville hotel when he allegedly trashed the room while severely intoxicated. When he was approached by hotel staff, Shaun allegedly pulled several fire alarms and then ran away so fast he fell and split his head open.

Law enforcement tells TMZ that Shaun was arrested for public intoxication and vandalism, but was taken to the hospital for treatment first. Once he has been treated, he’ll be taken to jail.

Leonardo DiCaprio‘s ex Bar has reportedly been cozying up to Olympic gold medalist Shaun White, according to New York Post’s Page Six. The two were caught kissing and canoodling on Memorial Day — May 28 — at the SoHo lounge Sway in New York City.

“They were all over each other,” a source told Page Six. “They were dancing, hugging, kissing — you name it.”

An eyewitness saw Bar leave the club around 3 a.m. without Shaun — who walked her out and let her take his car home, according to the report.

This would definitely be a different man for Bar who famously dated Leo on and off for years. We’re happy she’s moved on!

Shaun came with a mission to win at the competition — and he was perfect.

A measly ankle injury wasn’t going to stop snowboarder Shaun White at the 2012 Winter X Games.

Shaun scored a historic 100 points on the men’s superpipe Sunday in Aspen, taking home his fifth consecutive gold medal. He has won every year since 2008.

“I always joked about maybe one day getting a 100— the perfect score, and tonight’s the night,” he said shortly after his win.

The United States dominated the slopes and skating rink yesterday!

Shani Davis, 27,  and Shaun White, 23, stole the day again Feb. 17 in Vancouver for the United States in 2010 Winter Olympics with two gold medals! Shani took home the gold in the men’s 1,000-meter speed skating final and snowboarder Shaun won the men’s halfpipe event. Both have won golds before at the Olympics, but these victories made for a momentous day!

Shani and Shaun’s golds marked two of the six medals won yesterday by the United States.  Lindsey Vonn, 25, won gold in the women’s downhill.

Congrats guys! Way to show the world what Team USA is made of!
