Sarah Jessica Parker is completely convincing as Kate Reddy, a guilty, freaked out financial manager who can’t seem to satisfy her bosses, husband and kids all at once.

The movie easily milks laughs out of experiences all of us moms have had: cereal or other gross kids’ goop on our clothes, kids’ paraphernalia packed into our purses, and perfect stay-at-home moms, so fit they have 3 percent body fat.

Kate hilariously tries to fake-make a pie for her six-year-old daughter’s bake sale — and of course fails miserably in the process.

Meanwhile, male co-workers backbite when she can’t work 24/7. Seth Meyers is suitably snake-like as the guy with the stay-at-home wife and the golf bag in the office who refuses to believe she’s as capable as any man.

Kate’s barely holding her family and work life together with her underemployed architect husband Richard, played by Greg Kinnear, when she actually gets what she wants at work — the chance for a big promotion.

But like all of working moms, Kate’s faced with the price of a promotion — TONS more work! Can she hold her life, her hair, and her barely stylish wardrobe together?

The film is fun, but I wish it was a little more realistic on certain fronts. How does Kate have such a fabulous Boston townhouse when she’s married to an architect? How does Kate exist on what appears to be three hours of sleep? And the biggest question of all: How can Kate possibly make pancakes and bacon for her kids in the morning before she goes to work? NO REAL WORKING MOM DOES THAT!

Nevertheless, since all us working moms need a laugh, you should check out I Don’t Know How She Does It — and then pat yourselves on your stressed-out backs!
