Seth McFarlane shot new life into an Oscar telecast that was in need for a jolt of adrenaline when he hosted on Feb. 24. But the hilarity might be a one time deal, as we found out why Seth doesn’t want to return to the Dolby Theater stage. Bummmer!

Seth MacFarlane Hosting The Oscars Again?

Seth posted a message on Twitter for his over three million followers on Feb. 26: “RT @CrusePhoto: @SethMacFarlane Would you host the #Oscars again if asked? // No way. Lotta fun to have done it, though.” But why is he feeling that way?

HollywoodLife.com had a chance to speak to a source close to the funny man on the reason why he has made the decision, and they told us EXCLUSIVELY, “There was a lot of stuff he wanted to do on the show that just wasn’t OK’d. He had a blast but wanted to do more and with his schedule he doesn’t believe he would have the time to do it again next year. It is also good business to say you are not doing it to see if they really put out the red carpet to get him back. It is always nice to feel wanted.”

Is The ‘Family Guy’ Creator’s Career In The Way?

Seth’s career, with Family Guy, Ted and the rest of the shows in his animation empire, makes him one busy man. Our source told us that the 39-year-old hopes his one-time hosting gig will open the door to even further success, saying, “The Oscars was an amazing stepping stone to the next phase of his career, making more movies and shows.”

I guess we can’t blame him, but if he were to reconsider, that would be awesome as well! Come back, Seth! We loved you on the show!
