HollywoodLife.com had a chance to visit the set of Nick at Nite’s See Dad Run and we now know why the show is such a success. The cast loves each other, everyone is having fun and its a really good show!

For those that aren’t familiar, See Dad Run is based on Scott Baio‘s character David Hobbs who has been America’s favorite Dad for the past 10 years, but it comes to an end when he leaves sitcom TV and starts to deal with his real life at home with three kids and a wife. Roles reverse when Scott becomes the stay at home Dad as his wife goes back to the entertainment industry.

And you can just imagine the hilarity that comes about!

In the upcoming episode, when Amy (Alanna Ubach) has to work the weekend, Emily (Ryan Newman) and Mary (Jaylen Barron) are getting ready for Prom and duties fall on David (Scott Baio) and Marcus (Mark Curry), who let things spiral out of control. Now the guys must find a way to give the girls a Prom to remember!

James Maslow is putting down his microphone and flexing his acting muscles — at least for one day. The Big Time Rush singer will guest star on an upcoming episode of Scott Baio‘s new Nick at Nite sitcom See Dad Run, premiering Oct. 14, and BTR fans might be surprised by James’ not-so-sweet new character.

So how does James, 22, enter the equation?

Scott’s character David, a former sitcom star, stages a reunion with his on-screen son Ricky (James) — but he quickly learns that Ricky isn’t the happy-go-lucky kid he remembers.

“[Ricky] kind of let fame go to his head,” James tells HollywoodLife.com. “He became a teen heartthrob after the TV show that he and Scott’s character were on before, and he’s a little bit cocky now. It’s a funny spin, and I’m really looking forward to doing it.”

James is currently on tour with Big Time Rush; the group is wrapping up performances in North America, and heading to Mexico/South America beginning Sept. 24. The fourth season of their Nickelodeon series, Big Time Rush, begins production in early 2013.
