When you’re watching the Emmys, with your fingers crossed for your favorite stars and shows, do you ever wonder who other celebs are rooting for? We do too, which is why we had to get Sophia Bush‘s take on this year’s Emmy frontrunners when we saw her Sept. 14 at the Cinema Society’s premiere of Restless in NYC.

“I’m always rooting for Modern Family and 30 Rock,” she told HollywoodLife.com of her picks. “And I’m so excited for Game of Thrones! My Hitcher co-star Sean Bean killed it on that show, so I’m really rooting for them. It’s hard because there’s so much good TV happening now. I’m just excited to see what happens!”

Sophia’s a Game of Thrones fan? That makes two of us! My pillow is still stained from the night we lost Ned Stark. (Seriously, I could write a Taylor Swift-style song about how upset that made me.)

As Game of Thrones fans prepare to settle in for a long dry spell — a trailer following last night’s finale teased a Spring 2012 return — I’m making a wish list of all the things I’d like to see on the show next season. At the top of my list is some serious dragon action from new-mom-of-three Daenerys (Emilia Clarke), and a swift death for the true bastard, Joffrey (Jack Gleeson.) Read on for more of my season-two must’s AND to share your own hopes for the future.

1. Daenerys, in all her bad-ass dragon glory:

Daenerys Targaryen was one of my favorite characters throughout season one, but it always bugged me that the geography of the realm kept her so far removed from the other characters. Now that she’s got her wings — three sets of adorable wings, to be exact — I’m hoping to see Daenerys gain a little mobility in the world. And considering how the Dothraki bowed to her at the end of the finale, it’s clear Daenerys has a sizable army at her disposal. Fly, dragon babies! Fly!

2. More Dinklage please:

I have yet to encounter a fellow Game of Thrones fan who doesn’t share in my obsession with Peter Dinklage as the Lannister “imp” Tyrion, and I’m hoping to see even more out of him in the show’s second season. In between his sarcastic quips and brilliant one-liners, Tyrion revealed himself to be a deeply disturbed character, and I’d love to discover more skeletons in his teeny-tiny closet.

3. Joffrey needs to die:

I don’t care who does it, but SOMEONE needs to end King Joffrey’s reign… and his life, while they’re at it. We’ve watched Joffrey evolve from an obnoxious, entitled brat to a maniacal, evil king in a matter of 10 episodes and I think I speak for everyone when I say that it’s time for him to stop breathing. When he forced Sansa (Sophie Turner) to stare at Ned’s (Sean Been) head on a spike on the season finale, I wanted to jump through the TV and kill him myself. Kudos to Jack Gleeson for crafting one of the most annoying, and most easily hated, characters currently on television.

Lastly, would it be too much to ask for even a glimpse of Sean Bean as the late, great Ned Stark next season? I was one of the millions of viewers crushed to see him killed last week, and I think it would be an incredible “thank you” to the fans if we got one last look at Ned in all his glory. In a world full of dragons and “White Walkers,” I would imagine ghosts are pretty commonplace.

But maybe that’s the point of Game of Thrones. Just like in real life, big personalities leave big holes when they’re gone and the season finale was all about the aftermath, as the survivors tried to live and move on after death.

Ned Stark’s (Sean Bean) shocking and cruel beheading left his wife and friends hungry for revenge — and his daughters desperate for survival. Arya (Maisie Williams), thank God, was found and sheltered at the last possible moment by Yoren (Francis Magee) who was in the capitol to lasoo more criminals into duty at the beleagured North Wall. Now she’s being disguised as a boy and is marching to safety in the north.

Sansa (Sophie Turner) faces a fate almost as bad as death, as bloodthirsty King Joffrey (Jack Gleeson) vowed to marry her and use her to get his heirs, while simultaneously mentally torturing and humiliating her. Plus, we know the physical blows will come after he forces her to gaze upon her father and former nanny’s heads, now on stakes above the palace walls.

King Joffrey is proving what a bad seed he is, being the DNA product of his evil mother Cersei (Lena Headey) and her even more evil twin brother, Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.) You have to wonder, while he’s enjoying cutting off his subjects tongues and fingers, if Cersei is wondering whether putting her son on the throne was such a good idea after all. Could SHE be next to run into his executioner’s sword?

Meanwhile, the magic that doesn’t make its’ appearance in every Game of Thrones episode is full- on intriguing in the finale.

Little Bran (Isaac Hempstead Wright) “saw” his father in the family crypt in a dream, and so did his 6-year-old brother, Rickon (Art Parkinson.) Ewww! And this was before they received the devastating news that their dad had been beheaded. We know that Bran, who sees the three-eyed Ravens regularly and is protected by the north wolves, is destined to become a bigger, more intriguing part of this story. Will he become the heart of the show as he grows?

The Lannisters may have King’s Landing in their nephew’s reckless care but the old Lord Tywin Lannister (Charles Dance) knows he’s in hot water as his son Jaime is being held hostage by Robb (Richard Madden) and Catelyn Stark (Michelle Fairley), and Robb has been pronounced “King of the North” by his followers.

Tywin is put out that he needs to rescue Jaime and has to send his less-loved dwarf son Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) to King’s Landing to be the king’s hand in order to keep Joffrey’s foolishness and blood-cravings in line. Little does he know that Momma Cercei is already sleeping with her first cousin, Lancel Lannister (Eugene Simon) — King Robert’s page. Is she an incest-addict or what?

As if this this action wasn’t enough, the real action happens across the sea where Khal Drogo (Jason Momoa) had been brought physically back from the dead — but with a non-functional brain. That old sorceress turned out to be some ungrateful, back-stabbing bitch. And she took Daenerys’ (Emilia Clarke) baby’s life in exchange for keeping Drogo undead!

Well, Daenerys showed her in the process, burning her alive and hatching the three dragon eggs she’s had in her possession all season.

So the big question is: Will Daenerys, who walks through fire and has dragons as pets, end up challenging the young Starks for the throne at King’s Landing? Or will everyone’s scheming be a waste because a years-long winter will come and The Wall will fall, releasing all kinds of terrifying  undead creatures?

Whoa! How will we ever wait until Season two… NEXT spring? Doesn’t that seem like forever? I may have to read the books!

The Game of Thrones star reprises his role as a grizzly Lord off-screen in a fight outside a London bar!

Sean Bean, 52, found himself in a real-life battle on June 13th.  However this time, it wasn’t over control of the Iron Throne, but rather his lady-friend, 22-year-old Playboy playmate April Summers.

Bean, whose character “Ned” was just killed off the HBO show, went outside the Hill Bar and Brasserie with his Playboy Bunny beau for a smoke when a passerby recognized her and began to make bawdy comments.  Bean stepped in and told the lewd loudmouth to leave.  Shortly after, he returned and punched Bean in the face.  A brawl broke out between the two, resulting in the tough-guy actor getting stabbed with broken glass in the arm.  It is uncertain how the scuffle ended, but it begs to question, “what happened to the other guy?”

Although he refused to go to the hospital, Sean politely cleaned himself up with a first-aid kit and ordered another drink for he and his Playmate.  What a true gentleman!
