The five-year-old will get daily lessons in the family’s Las Vegas home, via videolink to a school in the UK!

Rod Stewart is determined to make sure Alistair won’t miss out on an education while he’s performing his Las Vegas show at Caesar’s Palace for the next two years. The online school is so sophisticated, Alistair will be able to attend lessons, download classwork and chat with his teacher 5,000 miles away from the classroom!

Alistair, 5, will be one of the first students to try out the internet-based distance learning system, developed by the Coopersdale Hall School in Rod’s native Essex, England.

It all sounds very hi-tech — but how will Alistair make friends through a video screen?

Rod insists it’s only a temporary measure, and Alistair will return home in the New Year, with his mom Penny Lancaster and baby brother Aiden, six months, to attend the school full-time.

First Sarah Palin pulled her daughters from school, now Angelina Jolie’s blasting the education system, insisting she can teach her kids better at home.

The schooling system is really taking a bashing at the moment. Is it justified?

Angelina Jolie went so far as to say schools fail her kids and that they learn more traveling the world with their jetsetting parents than in the classroom, where they get distracted by ‘tomfoolery!”

She told The Independent, “The education system is so bad. I do think we live in a different age and the education system hasn’t caught up with our children and our way of life.”

The drugs were hidden in a pack of Haribo candy the poor girl wanted to share with classmates.

Luckily an eagle-eyed teacher spotted the cocaine wrap and confiscated it. Imagine what COULD have happened!

The teacher alerted police in East Sussex, England who raided the girl’s home and found 100 more wraps AND cannabis hidden away.

An un-named 31-year-old was arrested on suspicion of drug dealing. His daughter is now living with his mother, under the watchful eye of child services.

A shocked parent tells The Sun, “You teach your kids about taking sweets from strangers but don’t expect them to be in danger from eating sweets offered by other children at school. I don’t want to be wondering if my boy is being handed drugs in the playground.”

The actress insists her six children with Brad Pitt learn more globetrotting with their superstar parents then they do at school!

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have been criticized for dragging their brood around the world with them. But Angie is convinced that’s a FAR better learning environment for them than any classroom. Are they right?

“The education system is so bad, Angelina, 35, tells The Independent. “I do think we live in a different age and the education system hasn’t caught up with our children and our way of life.”

The Brangelina brood; Maddox, 9, Pax, 7, Zahara, 6, Shiloh, 5 and two-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne, are enrolled in the French Lycée programme and attend classes wherever they are in the world with their parents.

But Angelina prefers to home school her children with the help of private tutors, explaining, “Instead of tomfoolery in the class room, I’d rather them go to a museum and learn to play guitar and read and pick a book they love.”

These are pretty strong words, HollyMoms. Are schools THAT bad? And isn’t “tomfoolery” and bonding with classmates part of growing up?

A school principle in the UK is setting a dress code for scruffy moms and dads — because he’s sick of seeing parents wearing pajamas!

Chris Wain has sent a letter to parents asking them to smarten up their act, claiming some are still in their PJs when they pick their kids up at the end of the day!

“What we were seeing was people staying in their pajamas all day. They were dropping their children off in the morning and collecting them in the afternoon wearing the same pajamas,” says Chris Wain, head teacher at Pallister Park School in Middlesbrough, England.

“Appearing at the school gates in pajamas isn’t the right way to go about things. It’s setting a bad example.”

Some parents are angry about the dress code. An unnamed mom tells The Sun newspaper, “I can’t be bothered getting dressed. My pajamas are comfy!”

Dad James Nichols is! His 13-year-old son Anthony and a pal were suspended following a flatulence outbreak on a school bus.

The gassy pair was banned for a day after Canal Winchester Middle School vice principal Daniel Senu-Oke decided their flatulent attack was an “obscene gesture” and broke the school’s code of conduct. Is this funny or what?

James Nichols describes the punishment as “laughable,” adding, “He suggested my son should hold his gas on this hour long bus ride, if in fact he has gas.

“When it happens, it just happens It’s not intentional.”

To add insult to injury, Anthony‘s mom has only recently been hospitalized with a gastric illness, and is particularly offended by the punishment.

The bus driver who reported Anthony and his unnamed partner in crime claims he’d warned them in the past about their intestinal outbursts — which regularly caused a rumpus among classmates.

The loaded gun fell from the kindergarten student’s pants in the cafeteria during lunch period at Betsy Ross Elementary School on Tuesday, causing it to go off. Can you believe this?

The boy who brought the gun was wounded in the foot, another six-year-old boy was struck in the leg and a five-year-old girl was hit in the foot. All three were hit by a single bullet or bullet fragments.

Emergency services were called and the three injured children were taken to Texas Children’s Hospital, where they were treated for minor injuries.

The gunshots terrified all the kids eating in the cafeteria, including five-year-old eyewitness Jarneshia Broussard. She told reporters, “I knew it was a gun because a gun goes ‘pow’. I got really scared.”

But the parents of one of the injured children, Khoran Brown, insists their son is already eager to get back to class “It is a sad situation that took place today, but we are thankful our son is in good spirits. He is already asking to get back to school.”

Investigating officers are now trying to piece together events and figure out how a child so young was able to bring a loaded weapon to school.

A usually drab walk to school in NYC turns sunny today as Sarah Jessica and James Wilke head out wearing bright-colored coats!

If there is anyone who’s happy about the 70 degree weather in New York City, it’s James Wilke, 8, and his walk-to-school partner, Sarah Jessica Parker, 45. The adorable duo headed out this sunny morning (March 18) looking cheery in their green and purple coats and we can tell they’re excited that spring is here.

SJP, who is currently filming two movies in NYC, I Don’t Know How She Does It and New Year’s Eve, always finds the time to be a doting mommy and walk her son to school. Too cute!
