Still dizzy from the insanely twisty Scandal season finale? So are we, which is why we’re  glad creator Shonda Rhimes and the show’s cast were able to (sort of) clear things up during a panel discussion May 17 in Hollywood.

‘Scandal’ Season 3 Spoilers

Did Olivia’s own father try to have her killed? Shonda’s answer is, basically, maybe. “B613 did seem to be trying to kill her, kind of,” she admitted. “At the very least, Rowan was trying to get Jake to have sex with her and then make a tape of it, which seems creepy on many levels, right? … I don’t know if they were trying to kill her, that’s up to interpretation.”

Where will season three pick up? Considering the way viewers were left at the end of the finale, Shonda knows it would be cruel to begin season three with a time jump, thus depriving us of some very juicy pay-off. “We actually are talking about starting next time with no time jump at all,” she said. “Starting maybe 25 minutes after we leave the last season.”

Who told the press about Liv’s affair? Every season needs a big mystery, and it sounds like that might be at least one that’s addressed in season three. Shonda promised there’s a “search to be had” for the leaker. “We’re not going to put that away and just tidy that up and move on,” she explained. “We’re going to have to live in that.”

Are Olivia and Fitz over for good? Fans of adultery will be pleased with Shonda’s response, following Olivia (Kerry Washington) and Fitz’s (Tony Goldwyn) dramatic split: ”There’s no forever in Shondaland.”

The April 5 series of premiere of ABC’s Scandal introduced viewers to Kerry Washington as Olivia Pope, a veritable Xena: Warior Princess of crisis management experts, and one of Washington D.C.’s most powerful women. Episode one found Olivia’s crack team defending Sully St. James (Wes Brown), the most decorated war hero since Vietnam, against a murder accusation — and that was the least shocking part of the episode.

Not one to shy away from an opportunity to multitask, Olivia also reluctantly took an assignment from her former employer, the President of the United States (Tony Goldwyn), after a pretty young aide started telling people they were having an affair.

OK, three… two… one… spoiler time!

It turns out the president was sleeping with the aide, and the reason Olivia figured it out was because he called her by the same nickname (“sweet baby”) that he called Olivia during their affair! As for Sully, Olivia’s team proved he didn’t kill his girlfriend, but only because they caught him on camera at the time of the murder — kissing his boyfriend!

Yeah, I’m starting to see why Shonda Rhimes decided to call this show Scandal.

Of course, Olivia could never have accomplished all of this by herself. Her crack team consists of silky smooth Harrison (Columbus Short), tenacious investigator Abby (Darby Stanchfield), womanizing Stephen (Henry Ian Cusick) and former CIA hacker Huck (Guillermo Diaz). Joining them in the pilot was Quinn (Katie Lowes), a Bambi-esque lawyer getting her first taste of Olivia’s tense — and slightly terrifying — world.

As was explained to Quinn, the members of Olivia’s team weren’t just assembled because they’re good at what they do, but also because they’re in desperate need of fixing. This week’s fixing was done to Stephen, as Olivia convinced him to propose to his girlfriend; she literally set up the dinner and gave him several engagement rings to choose from. We’ll learn about each team member’s sordid past as the episodes roll on, and I’m already dying to know more.

Here’s the bottom line: Not only is Scandal smart, fast-paced and instantly addictive, but it couldn’t came come along at a more perfect time. The average American’s fascination — and, let’s face it, distrust – with public figures has never been more feverish, so to see high-powered politicians being brought their knees is kind of a guilty pleasure for us all.

The FBI may be sick of Olivia bugging them at all hours of the night, but I’ll definitely be welcoming her entire team into my living room every week.

Even though he’s been sexting in the past few weeks, it’s just been revealed Weiner’s wife is expecting the couple’s first child. That poor woman.

As if it couldn’t get any worse, three people close to Representative Anthony Weiner and his wife Huma Abedin tell the New York Times that she’s in the early stages of pregnancy — and he was obviously sexting during her first trimester. Unbelievably shocking!

This new twist in the plot brings on new questions about the future of Rep. Weiner and his wife’s marriage. Will the baby-to-be help them move past this shocking and humiliating scandal? Or is her pregnancy the reason she’s NOT leaving him?

Rep. Weiner, 46, who has openly admitted to engaging in lewd online conversations with six women over the last few years, has announced that he and Huma, 35, have NO intention of splitting up (even though some of the promiscuous exchanges took place ONE MONTH after their wedding.)

“We will weather this,” Mr. Weiner said on Monday, June 6, during his emotional news conference. “I love her very much, and she loves me.”

Should Huma Abedin stay with her risque photo-sending husband or walk away from their marriage?

Rep. Andrew Weiner has been leading a secret double life. By day he is a proper, law-abiding Congressman of New York. But at night, he lets his kinky side out to play, using the Internet to sent strangers risque photos of himself. Now that his exhibitionist side has been outed, should his wife, Human Abedin, stick faithfully by his side?

Yesterday, the House Democrat admitted to sending improper photos to random women on the ‘net; there were six separate incidents in three years. But he wasn’t just flashing and running, oh no. Weiner was getting ‘involved’ with these women online. Although it is assumed he hadn’t actually met any of them in person, he is definitely emotionally cheating on his beautiful wife by contacting said women over and over again.

The Congressman got caught when Meagan Broussard, a 26-year-old nurse from Texas, decided to come forward with her story after being sent a flurry of increasingly sexual photos over Twitter — including one of Weiner’s weiner, so to speak.

We know he’s got exhibitionist problems, and likes women to be impressed with his body and power. But should his wife stick around waiting for him to change?

Andrew Weiner definitely has issues, and he definitely needs psychological help. He needs to see a therapist and find out what makes him not only crave but actually need the sexual attention of strangers (it might have something to do with his past self, a former geek. He still hasn’t completely grown out of that insecurity).

It could be worse — he could have been physically cheating on Huma. As it is, sending naked photos of yourself online is weird and kinky, but not 100% detrimental to the marriage if you don’t intend to do something about it or take it any further. Huma should demand her husband get help, and if she loves him, I wouldn’t blame her for staying by his side.

After all, as Meagan Broussard told ABC News,”He’s got issues, just like everybody else.”

Patrick, who went to visit his mom at a Beverly Hills Hotel last night (May 24), says of dad Arnold: ‘I love him.’ Would you stand by your dad if he did what Arnold has done to Maria?

It’s been a rough week for the Schwarzenegger kids, who found out, along with their mom Maria Shriver, that their dad Arnold Schwarzenegger fathered a love child with their housekeeper of 20 years, Mildred “Patty” Baena. But Arnold’s 17-year-old son Patrick will always love his embattled dad, even if he’s on mom Maria’s side.

“I love him,” Patrick told X17Online.com exclusively as he left his mom’s hotel room in Beverly Hills, proving he will always care for his dad, even though he destroyed what was once an extremely united family.

“some days you feel like shit, some days you want to quit and just be normal for a bit, yet i love my family till death do us apart. #family” Patrick tweeted when the love child news broke.

It’s a tough time for all the kids involved, including Arnold’s love child. But, it’s nice to see a son admit he loves his father despite all that’s happened.

The revelation Arnie fathered a secret child with a member of his household staff has devastated his long-suffering wife Maria — but experts say his kids stand to struggle the most.

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver‘s four children, Katherine Eunice, 21, Christina Maria Aurelia, 18, Patrick Arnold, 17, Christopher Sargent, 13, are now dealing with the shocking surprise that they have a secret sibling they never knew existed. And this secret child is facing the truth that Arnold is in fact their biological father.

Dr. Jennifer Hartstein, a child and family psychologist, tells HollyBaby.com, “We can assume Christopher is in the flow of becoming an adolescent and his whole idea of what a relationship is has been thrust into turmoil. He’s going to have a lot of questions.”

Dr. Hartstein fears the situation could prompt Christopher to “act out.”

She insists Arnie’s response to the scandal will have a big impact on how his kids are affected. “They are going to be angry and have questions,” Dr. Hartstein says. “He needs to tolerate that and be willing to go at the kids’ pace.”

Child Psychologist Dr. Susan Abbott agrees: “It’s going to be devastating. It’s one of the most traumatic ways a family can split up.”

“It’s going to have an effect on their relationship with their parents and impact on their own relationships.”

Dr. Abbott insists Arnie’s first move should be to apologize to his kids. “I think he should acknowledge that it was wrong and a mistake. That would be a first step for his kids. If he fails to make that step it will be more difficult for them.”

Dr. Hartstein, meanwhile, insists the love child is facing a difficult time ahead. “At 10, there’s going be a lot of questions. They are going to wonder why they were kept a secret. And there will be a lot of anger, disblelief and curiosity and identity questions.”
