But most importantly, say goodbye to Bill Hader, because the 34-year-old actor has decided to leave Saturday Night Live after nearly eight years on the show. ”It got to a point where I said, ‘Maybe it’s just time to go,’” Bill tells The New York Times.

Speaking with the paper, SNL Executive Producer Lorne Michaels likens Bill to the legendary Dan Akroyd:

In terms of intelligence and talent, he was in that same tradition. He was so completely committed to the art of it and enough a student of it that there’s something strikingly original. He didn’t explode onto the air, but gradually he found his voice, and that became a huge thing.

Who Else Is Leaving ‘Saturday Night Live’?

NBC’s Saturday night staple has already lost some heavy hitters in recent years — here’s looking at you, Kristen Wiig – and it sounds like more could be on their way out soon.

Lorne tells the Times that Fred Armisen and Jason Sudeikis are currently “making their decisions and we’ll know soon enough.”

We already know Seth Meyers is leaving to take over Late Night from Jimmy Fallon, so if any more stars decide to exit, the show could be facing a rough 39th season.

The nation and the media could not stop talking about Jodi Arias’ murder trial and Ariel Castro’s ghastly kidnappings during the week of May 5. Meanwhile, the House Committee in Washington, D.C. could hardly do a thing to get the public interested in the hearings on Benghazi. Well, Saturday Night Live figured out a surefire way to increase the Committe’s publicity.

Jodi Arias Testifies At The Benghazi Hearings?

Just invite Jodi and Ariel to the hearings, of course! A skit that appeared to just be a riff on the House Committee took a sharp lefthand turn when they announced the first “witness,” Jodi Arias.

“I’m sorry, but Ms. Arias is a 32-year-old woman who was just convicted of killing her boyfriend,” says cast member Kenan Thompson. “I fail to see what possible insights, or expertise that she could bring to events in Benghazi.” Kenan turns out to be right — Jodi’s just a publicity stunt, she actually hadn’t even heard of the attacks in Benghazi until the day of the hearing!

“Is it still going on,” Jodi (played incredibly by Nasim Pedrad) cluelessly asks. She’s completely useless on the topic of Benghazi, but the chair of the House Committee does get to ask if she lied when she claimed self-defense in killing Travis Alexander.

“Oh totally — he never laid a hand on me,” she says. And when the chairman agrees that the defense sounded fishy to him, Jodi drops the line of the skit: “You and the jury!”

Ariel Castro Shows Up On ‘SNL’

But don’t think it stops there — the House Committee still needs better ratings. “What next!? The guy from Cleveland who kept those women in his basement?” Kenan asks. And well, yes.

Ariel Castro (played by Bobby Moynihan) makes a quick appearance, looking creepy as ever, and expresses his disappointment that Kenan has foiled the Committee’s plans: “Hey, does this mean I don’t get to testify,” he asks in slimy disappointment.

The whole skit is a humorous take on how the media prefers sensationalism, and how futile the efforts to get people to pay attention to government hearings are. Though it may have been too soon to bust out Ariel Castro in a sketch (we can’t decide if it crossed the line or not), the Jodi Arias stuff was hilarious and perfectly done.

Kanye West dissed Justin Timberlake’s “Suit & Tie” song at a concert on Feb. 23. And Justin performed the song on Saturday Night Live on March 9, where he appeared to respond to Kanye’s diss through his performance.

Kanye originally told a packed crowd in London, “I got love for Hov, but I ain’t f–king with that ‘Suit & Tie.’”

Very much like Taylor Swift disses Harry Styles, Justin hit back through his song lyrics.

While performing “Suit & Tie” on March 9, Justin changed his original lyrics, “S**t so sick/Got a hit and picked up a habit” to “My hits so sick/Got rappers acting dramatic.”

Will Kanye West Retaliate?

It’s very slick of Justin to respond through song, but we don’t think Kanye will sit lightly on this. In true Kanye fashion, we should expect some sort of retaliation in the next day or so. Maybe Jay-Z, who is good friends with both performers, can mend this tarnished relationship.

Either way, Justin rocked the house on SNL, giving the long-running series its best episode yet this season! (Sorry, Justin Bieber.)

When Kevin Hart‘s new friends suspect that he is transforming into a zombie during a parody of the AMC hit series The Walking Dead on Saturday Night Live on March 2, he blames them for being racist.

In the sketch, Kevin comes across Rick (Taran Killam) and other characters from the series including Carl, Maggie and Daryl. When they turn their backs to decide if they should let Kevin into the group, he’s bitten by a walker (another term for zombie). Unaware of the fresh bite, the group lets Kevin become “one of them.”

“What do you mean by ‘one of them?’ When someone comes from a different cultural background, they’re automatically a zombie,” Kevin says, prompting the group to apologize and insist they’re not racists.

When Kevin bites and kills Maggie (Kate McKinnon), the group then insists he’s a zombie, but Kevin says, “Would you rather I eat some fried chicken or watermelon?”

They feel bad again until Carl (Nasim Pedrad) shoots Kevin dead.

No celebrity is safe from Saturday Night Live — including Dan Marino! The former Miami Dolphins quarterback was the object of ridicule on the Feb. 9 episode, as the cold opening drudged up his recently revealed affair with former production assistant Donna Savattere.

The sketch appeared to just be goofing on the power outage at the Super Bowl — with Jason Sudeikis as Dan, and Kenan Thompson as fellow commentator James Brown — but it eventually turned into a riff on Dan when the panel of sports experts ran out of things to talk about during the black out.

“So, Dan, news came out this week that you fathered a child in an extramarital affair,” Kenan (as James) said.

Jason (as Dan) replied, “Oh, come on! We agreed that was off limits!”

“That was before, Dan Marino!” Kenan snapped back. “This is a new world now! We have to fill air time! We’re all going to have to admit to some stuff!”

Dan Marino’s Love Child & Affair With Donna Savattere

News of Dan and Donna’s affair broke Jan. 30, just days before the former quarterback was set to speak live during Super Bowl XLVII. The New York Post reports their daughter Chloe, 7, was born in June 2005, and is now being raised by Donna and her husband.

“This is a personal and private matter,” Dan said Jan. 30 in a statement. “I take full responsibility both personally and financially for my actions now as I did then. We mutually agreed to keep our arrangement private to protect all parties involved.”

“Yeah, right. Me too,” joked “Miley,” as the audience roared with laughter.

During the later sketches in the show, Justin was impersonated by cast members who posed as his body doubles and he participated in a “Californians” sketch.
