Sarah Palin has gotten a lot of bad press. Between “seeing Russia from her window”, her daughter’s pregnancy and the countless interviews-gone-bad, the previous vice presidential nominee hasn’t gotten a lot of positive attention. But this reality show, which is in some way a shout out to Palin’s hair, is not all that bad. Did she have anything to do with this new venture?

There’s no word that Palin has any direct involvement with the show but it is under the same network that aired “Sarah Palin’s Alaska.” The new show will be called “Big Hair Alaska” featuring Palin’s favorite hair salon in her hometown Wasilla, Alaska.

It’s interesting that the salon’s name is Beehive — a name that is not too far off from describing Palin’s hairstyle of choice. The owner of the salon, Jessica Steele, is absolutely ecstatic about the show. She confirmed that it was, in fact, her salon on the show by making a Facebook post on Monday. “TLC just announced their fall lineup, and we are on it!!!! Our show is called Big Hair Alaska!!!! Omg!!! It’s really happening!!!! :),” she wrote. TLC sent out a news release last week saying the show, “goes inside a busy hair salon in Wasilla, Alaska, where the personalities of the owner and her staff are as big as the hairstyles they create.”

Sarah spends thousands to go on her TLC adventures, but a local who’s known Sarah for years says that’s NOT typical Alaskan behavior!

Sarah Palin sets the bar high on her reality show — too high, actually. Mama Grizzly shows fans a beautiful and exciting side of her native Alaska each week on Sarah Palin’s Alaska, but it turns out her weekly adventures are anything but typical! HollywoodLife.com spoke to a lieutenant at an Alaskan police department, who insists that no one in Alaska actually does the things America sees Sarah, Todd, Bristol and the family do every week!

“We all think the show is great and love watching it each week,” our source admits. “But these things she’s doing cost a lot of money. You don’t see people going up mountains, taking long fishing trips, and shooting caribou each week.”

In case you forgot, HollywoodLife.com researched the cost of the Palin’s hunting trip, which resulted in one bagged caribou, and the grand total came out to $42,400! But it doesn’t stop there: Early on in the season, Sarah went on a two-day fishing trip , and then enjoyed a climbing expedition on Mt. McKinley which ran her a whopping $12,250! Almost all her weekly adventures have involved using bush planes to travel, which Sarah has said – ALL Alaskans do!

So while Sarah may  boast regularly about the “real” Alaska, the Palin’s lifestyle as portrayed on her “reality” show is entertaining to her fellow Alaskans, but hardly  relatable!

The Mayor of Wasilla says people around town aren’t glued to their sets to watch the new reality show, Sarah Palin’s Alaska on TLC.

HollywoodLife.com spoke exclusively to the current Mayor of Wasilla, Alaska who says the town folk just aren’t as obsessed with the Palin family as the rest of the lower 48 states.   Mayor Verne Rupright says that for the people in Wasilla, the big news for the small town was when Sarah Palin was running for Vice President with John McCain; they aren’t glued to their TVs to watch the reality show, Sarah Palin’s Alaska on TLC.

The Mayor tells HollywoodLife.com, “We don’t keep track of the family. People here respect their privacy and their lives.  The people in town don’t pay attention to them, we got our business and they got theirs.”

The Mayor also took the time to wonder at Sarah’s remarkable ability to use social media to convey her political messages.  He says between Facebook and Twitter, Sarah has the older politicians pretty upset because she has a better platform to say what she wants to the world to hear through her social media accounts.

But in the series premiere, Palin goes all paranoid over a reporter writing about her! Gee, isn’t she a public figure?

Sarah Palin is addicted to her Blackberry! Throughout the Nov. 14 season premiere of Sarah Palin’s Alaska — which scored TLC’s highest ratings for a series premiere ever with 4.96 million viewers – one thing remained the same: Mama Grizzly is constantly on her Blackberry! We watch Sarah, 46, typing away on her phone during most of the episode, like on a small plane to go fishing, and while talking to her family during a road trip. I know she has a lot of work to do, but come on – there’s a time and a place to check your email! We even get to hear her 8-year-old daughter Piper’s opinion on the matter: the only time Sarah doesn’t check her email is when she doesn’t have service.

Working so hard seems to keep Sarah distracted sometimes, too. At one point, she was too busy on the computer and her phone to notice that a boy sneaks into her teenage daughter Willow’s room. But when she does notice, she makes them come downstairs right away – it seems like she’s not about to let any of her other daughters make the same mistake as Bristol. Speaking of Bristol, there was no sign of her in this episode – where was she?!

We also get a glimpse into another way Sarah’s political work has affected her family through their new neighbor, an author who is writing an in-depth book about Sarah. And it’s definitely not a secret that Sarah doesn’t want him anywhere near her home. Almost every time she’s outside, she’s trying to get a glimpse of him to see if he’s watching her. She seems furious that he’s able to keep such close tabs on her, and even had her husband Todd build a 14-foot fence to give them some privacy. Sarah says she thinks he’ll be bored watching her family, but “at the end of the day, it’s none of his flipping business!”

It’s kind of funny to watch Sarah so nervous about the neighbor keeping an eye on her, worrying about whether or not he’s taking pictures of them, but at the same time, I can definitely understand her frustration. Who wants someone constantly watching them in the privacy of their own home?!

BFFs, are you excited for TLC’s new reality show Sarah Palin’s Alaska? The former Alaskan governor is ready to show you a side of her you’ve never seen!

Sarah Palin, 46, wants you to know she’s just a regular gal. The mom-of-five’s new reality show will be coming to a TV near you in mid November, and it’s going to show you her new life outside of politics. The former Alaskan First Lady will go salmon fishing, camping, and hike on glaciers!

We’ve been speculating if the reigning TLC queen, Kate Gosselin would appear on the show and it’s a definite YES! It turns out the mom-of-eight really did go camping with Kate and her adorable kiddies!

The show was created by Survivor producer Mark Burnett, and the entire Palin fam is expected to be featured on the show: her hubby Todd, sons Track, Trig, and daughters, Piper, Willow, and Bristol.

The boy from Wasilla who managed to get Sarah Palin’s daughter pregnant is now set to film his own reality show, about what we are still unsure.

Levi Johnston may not be getting his dream wedding with mother of his child Bristol Palin, she said he was a fame whore, but he is getting what every publicity seeking Alaskan boy dreams of — his own reality show! TMZ spoke with a source who said Levi, “signed a new reality deal this weekend, one that doesn’t include everyone’s favorite unwed teen mother from Alaska.” Take that Bristol!

They go on to say, “We’re told Levi will actually begin shooting in Los Angeles on Monday and then cameras will follow him back to Alaska. No word yet on what the exact format will be, though several networks are said to be interested.”

May we suggest this as a counter programming option to Sarah Palin‘s Alaska. She would LOVE that!
