We were all devastated when Lexie died on Grey’s Anatomy but nobody was more upset than Mark Sloan himself. So what does the actor who plays Mark, Eric Dane, feel about Chyler Leigh leaving the show?

Eric told E! Online that he wasn’t entirely surprised by Lexie’s death. “I knew that Chyler wanted to spend some more time with her family, and it’s difficult,” he said. “It’s a tough schedule to keep up and she’s been working on the show for five seasons, so I wasn’t shocked. A little surprised, but not shocked, and we’re going to miss her.”

Still, even though Lexie is gone, does he see her as Mark’s soul mate? “I think so. I think that’s how it ended up.”

Sniffle.

Meanwhile, Sarah Drew, whose character April drew wrath from Lexie fans who claimed April should have been the one to die in the season finale, admitted she cried when she found out Chyler was leaving. “We were all weeping at the table read because nobody knew it was coming,” she revealed. “There were rumors that maybe somebody might die, but nobody knew who. Well I guess she knew, but the rest of us didn’t! We really did sob our way through that table read, it was pretty sad.”

The April 26 episode of Grey’s Anatomy finds every character on high-alert – the residents are finally taking their board exams after eight years — but no one goes off the rails quite like April (Sarah Drew), who manages to punch a guy, yell at Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and hop into bed with Jackson (Jesse Williams) all in the course of the hour. But will bedding Jackson mean April will finally lose her virginity?

“They definitely hook up, but I cannot reveal whether she loses her virginity,” Sarah tells HollywoodLife.com. “She gets a little action, for sure, they both do. But I think she’s just super high on adrenaline, and she knows Jackson is her best friend and she’s safe with him. She’s like, ‘I don’t know what to do with myself, so I’m just going to make out with you.’”

But April’s no-pants party with Jackson is merely one of the many “out-of-character” moves we’ll see her make tonight.

“We’ll see all the residents reacting to the stress and anxiety of their boards in all kinds of different ways,” Sarah says. “April’s is particularly fun and out of character for her. She’s kind of jumping out of her skin, so it takes on that kind of flavor where she actually punches a guy in the face. And that leads to some other stuff that happens throughout this week’s episode.

And April’s not alone! It sounds like the whole Seattle Grace gang bought tickets for the crazy train.

“Cristina [Sandra Oh] becomes super-focused on succeeding and crushing her boards,” Sarah says. “She focuses all her energy on her career because her personal life is in such chaos. Meredith also has something crazy happen to her that distracts her. And then there’s Karev [Justin Chambers], who’s torn between what’s happening with little baby Tommy and also succeeding with his boards. Everyone has their own drama they’re dealing with as they walk into the most stressful moments of their eight-year residency.”

Sounds intense!

There must be something in the water on the Grey’s Anatomy set! On the heels of the announcement that co-star Jessica Capshaw is pregnant, Sarah Drew gave birth to a boy, according to People! “She and her husband, Peter Lanfer, are in love with him!” her rep said of the baby, who weighed in at 7 lbs., 4 oz and is 19 inches long.

The couple decided to wait until the birth to discover the gender of their new baby. “I thought it would be a good idea to wait to find out because I am a control freak by nature,” Sarah explained.

“I’m about to walk into a chapter of my life where I have no control over anything anymore, and I figured I’d ease myself into it by not allowing myself to plan for the sex of the baby. It’s good training for me!”

Sarah Drew tells HollywoodLife.com April and Dr. Stark’s relationship isn’t over — but he’s not going to be scoring with her anytime soon!

HollywoodLife.com caught up with Grey’s Anatomy‘s Sarah Drew at the GLAAD Awards in Los Angeles April 11 and the perky 30-year-old actress told us what’s in store for her character, April Kepner, for the rest of the season.

“There are some great episodes coming up where the two of us have some really interesting interactions. She kind of dumped him sort of, in the last episode, before the musical, so I’m not sure it’s moving in the romantic realm,” Sarah said. “But there is a lot of interesting dynamic interaction between the two of them that comes up as a result of her breaking his heart.”

HollywoodLife.com sat down exclusively with Sarah Drew — who plays the inquisitive and Type A Dr. April Kepner — and dished about her character’s obsession with Dr. Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey), her big life secret and just what makes her so socially awkward.

Grey’s Anatomy star Sarah Drew tells HollyBaby.com exclusively about her co-star Ellen Pompeo’s strict diet for her daughter, Stella.

When you’re a mom, you want your baby to eat the healthiest, most nutritious food. And Grey’s Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo is making sure that her 11-month-old daughter, Stella, is getting nothing but the best. “All of the meals are specifically created for her baby,” Ellen’s co-star Sarah Drew tells HollyBaby.com exclusively. “She’s a big cook. She’s really into cooking and really into being super-healthy and getting all the organic stuff and getting all the antioxidants, vitamins and she doesn’t just feed her baby normal baby food.” 

“She creates meals and purees it for Stella and it’s amazing. She is super super involved in her baby’s life,” Sarah told us.

Taking a serious interest in the health of your baby’s food is a good thing, but it sounds like Ellen may be turning Stella into a little style diva.

“She brought Stella to set one day and she was wearing sunglasses and skinny jeans, and this is when she was like 5 months old. I walked up and said, ‘Stella is wearing skinny jeans!’ And Ellen said, ‘I know aren’t they so cute?!’ Stella wears sunglasses all the time and they’re big ones and she doesn’t mind. She is such a hip kid and she has eyelashes that are a mile long. She’s one of the most beautiful children I’ve ever seen in my entire life,” Sarah says.

But it all comes from a place of love. Ellen, 40, is just really besotted with her first child.

“Ellen is IN LOVE with her. If she has a cold we know about it. She is on the phone with her nanny, she’s talking to the medical people on set. She’s so in love with that child,” her co-star reveals.
