On Thursday, Oct. 11, we learned that Robin Roberts was home after spending thirty days in the hospital. Today, Oct. 12, Good Morning America’s weather anchor Sam Champion revealed details on Robin’s recovery progress during the Oct. 12 episode of The View.

“The doctors have got a course the entire time. They know what her numbers should be and how she should be feeling. They have it lined out step by step. She is exactly where the doctors think she should be, and a little bit better. Josh and I went in not long ago, and it was an hour and a half of laughing. It was so good. As soon as she’s ready to come back, she’ll be back on GMA,” Sam announced on The View.

We’re so happy to hear this amazing news and we hope to see Robin back on the GMA couch in no time!

The forecast for Good Morning America weather anchor Sam Champion‘s love life sure is a positive one! He’s just announced his engagement to Rubem Robierb.

ABC News announced the great news on Friday, Oct. 5. In a statement, Sam, 51, said, “We are thrilled and so excited, and thank everyone for their good wishes.” Rubem is a Miami-based, Brazilian fine-arts photographer whom Sam met through mutual friends a few years ago.

Sam also tweeted his excitement, saying, “I’ve never been happier to share a bit of personal news!!”

Sam first publicly acknowledged his sexuality with a New York Times reporter, while at a colleague’s wedding. In the ensuing article, which ran online on Oct. 5 as well, Sam says, “We’re getting married New Year’s Eve in Miami.” Rubem corrects him, saying, “We’ll do it here [in New York] officially, and then have a party in Miami.”
