Justin Bieber was raised right! HollywoodLife.com attended the NYC premiere of Gus Van Sant‘s new flick Restless on Sept. 14 and it was there that we got a chance to speak with Russell Simmons. The Def Jam Records founder says he’s gotten to know Justin very well over the past few years and he tells us fame hasn’t gone to Justin’s head one bit!

“Justin is a very down-to-earth and gracious kid,” Russell told us at the premiere hosted Cinema Society with Dior Homme & GQ. “He hangs out with Diggy [his brother Rev. Run's 16-year-old son] a lot so he comes to my house. He’s very nice, same way he is, he’s great. He’s an example, an inspiration because a lot of kids can look at him because he is still grounded and he doesn’t seem to be affected in any way and it’s really up to you to be affected or not, he’s a gracious good kid.”

This is so great to hear, especially coming from someone as successful as Russell!

DJ Cassidy celebrated his 30th birthday on July 6 by renting out the impressive Intrepid Museum. Joining forces with Hennessy as they too were celebrating a key milestone — the one year anniversary of Hennessy Black – the party attracted a star-studded guest list and HollywoodLife.com was there to capture it all!

In true tradition, the party hosted musical sets from an array of world renowned Deejays including Samantha Ronson. Walking the red carpet were some of DJ Cassidy’s closest A-list friends including, Adrienne Bailon, Amanda Warner, Jaslene Gonzalez, Russell Simmons and Shontelle. The guests appeared ecstatic with many of them declaring that they wouldn’t miss a DJ Cassidy party.

Sexy and stylish Shontelle giggled as she told us about the “many juicy boys” that were out there that evening.

DJ Cassidy has been regarded as the most sought-after Deejay in the world, noted for having hosted his summer parties in a number of iconic New York landmarks such as The New York Public Library and Cipriani. Also famed for his eclectic client roster, some of his faves being President Barack Obama, Oprah Winfrey, Diddy, Jay-Z, Beyonce and Kanye West!

To the dismay of his party loving friends, Cassidy has declared his 30th party as his last — we think he definitely went out with a bang!

The media and fashion mogul hopes his new show ‘Running Russell Simmons’ will inspire those who tune in!

Russell Simmons, 53, is making a statement, and a big one at that. HollywoodLife.com spoke to the DefJam founder at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in NYC Nov. 10, and he revealed that his new Oxygen show, Running Russell Simmons, won’t be like other reality shows.

“It’s about animal rights, gay rights and it’s about violence in the communities and all kinds of social and political causes that are overlooked,” Russell said. But the Phat Farm creator insisted the show won’t be all seriousness all the time, claiming that it will also cover “fashion and fun stuff too.”

The meditating millionaire hopes his show will “inspire people to meditate. There’s a lot of yoga, a lot of prayer.”  And don’t be surprised to see some familiar faces: his brother Rev Run and his ex-wife Kimora Lee Simmons (both no strangers to reality shows) are definitely primed to pop up on screen with Russell.

Running Russell Simmons airs Tuesday nights at 10 PM ET on the Oxygen Network!

Kristen Stewart might have walked two red carpets in three days sans Robert Pattinson, but she appeared to be having a great time! The 20-year-old actress showed up to The Cinema Society & Everlon Diamond Knot Collection screening of her upcoming film Welcome To The Rileys Oct. 19, looking leggy and very happy — even without Rob at her side.

This was the second carpet Kristen had strutted down in just a matter of days. The Twilight star attended the Spike TV’s Scream 2010 Awards Oct. 16, and then immediately jetted of to NYC to promote her dramatic new flick, also starring James Gandolfini.

Kristen, who gives her breakout performance in the Jake Scott directed film, opted not to watch her film, and slipped out for a quick bite. But she did manage to change out of her 3-inch Louboutins and into a pair of jeans and converse, in order to attend the after party at the Soho Grand Hotel. K-Stew mingled with guests like Gerard Butler, Russell Simmons, Danny DeVito, and Christina Hendricks, who sipped DeLeon tequila cocktails well into the night.

Some of the guests like Olivia Palermo, Petra Nemcova and the film’s star, Melissa Leo, donned the main sponsor’s signature Diamond Knot jewelry, which included: Sparkly Erlon Pave Diamond Knot Leverback Earrings, and Everlon Diamond Knot Layered Chain Necklaces!

It’s not just Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie who are giving to the Haitian relief efforts!

According to Russell Simmons‘ Twitter account, Tiger Woods is lending a hand, by sending a mobile hospital to Haiti. The Caribbean country was devastated by an earthquake earlier this week. 

Russell wrote: “I heard tiger woods donating to send a cargo plane with a mobile hospital out there. Keep ur prayers high!”

The latest news on Tiger was that he is in a sex rehab facility, The Meadows, in Arizona. Reportedly, he entered the facility to help boost his public image … which, donating a hospital to Haiti would also do for him! If it’s actually true …
