Taylor Armstrong has had quite the run on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. After her husband Russell Armstrong shockingly took his own life in 2011, leaving Taylor behind with their daughter, Kennedy, the 41-year-old reality star lost all sense of reality and turned to booze for help, she admits in a new blog post.

Kim & Kyle Richards Plan An Intervention For Taylor Arstrong

On the Feb. 25 episode of Bravo’s RHOBH, Taylor was confronted by Kim and Kyle Richards, who think she has a severe drinking problem.

Taylor and the Richards sisters had a heartfelt conversation about the issue, and Kim reached out — saying she knows what Taylor is going through from personal experience and tells her alcohol is just a quick fix.

Taylor took the ladies advice in good spirits, and goes further by telling us more of her dark side in her official Bravo blog on Feb. 26.

Taylor Armstrong Talks About Dealing With Russell’s Suicide On Her Blog

“I went through about nine months where I was drinking to cope with the pain and the memories [of Russell Armstrong's suicide]. I was drinking to forget, to stop the recurring images in my head, to relax enough to try to sleep at night,” Taylor pens on her blog. “I quickly discovered that one glass of wine made it a little easier, two would help me forget, three, four — you get the point.

Taylor Armstrong’s Drinking Problem: Self-Medicating

“I was self-medicating and the sad truth is that I didn’t know another way to get through the days — and nights,” Taylor adds. “I was confronted with the truth that the life I thought I had was only an illusion. What I finally realized was that ‘pain waits for you.’ I would medicate for a day and the next morning all the emotions would come flooding back — not to mention the massive headache.”

Taylor Armstrong is coming back for a third season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, but friends of blonde socialite think she’d be better off in rehab!

“Taylor has been relying on alcohol to cope with the suicide of her husband, Russell, and the stress of raising a child as a single mother,” a source told RadarOnline.com.

Fans caught a glimpse of Taylor’s excessive drinking last season when she he had an epic meltdown at Camille Grammer‘s Aspen mansion and climbed into her suitcase. “It was very scary for all of the ladies to witness,” the source revealed. “And that was before Russell killed himself. The fellow Housewives feel that Taylor needs to go to rehab to learn how to cope with the pressures of life without alcohol or any other substances.”

Though her life my be spiraling out of control, friends claim Taylor is in complete denial that she has a problem with booze, especially since she’s a paid spokesperson for Ciroc vodka. “She earns about $100,000 a year from that endorsement deal and she is afraid that if she goes to rehab they will drop her,” the source said.

Producers plan to address Taylor’s drinking problem on the upcoming season, which began filming last week, but insiders say they’re becoming tired of Taylor’s antics and plan on phasing her out. “Producers reluctantly decided to sign Taylor for the next season and a lot of their decision was based purely on the fact that they felt bad just dumping her after all she went through last year,” said a show insider. “It’s unlikely that she’s going to be able to start publicly dating again so soon after Russell’s death, and with her money troubles she’s unlikely to be leading any kind of aspirational lifestyle, so she’s basically not really going to have any interesting hook.”

In a recent interview, Taylor Armstrong says her daughter Kennedy asked why she missed her late husband, Russel Armstrong — who killed himself on Aug. 15 — if he beat her all the time. “I said, ‘You know what, you’re right,’” Taylor tells HollywoodLife.com at the Bravo Up Front on April 4. “‘Your daddy had a bad temper and that wasn’t okay, but he loved you very much.’”

“He never acted out towards my daughter,” Taylor explains. “I try to reinforce ‘Your daddy loves you, and I know he misses you.’”

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star has written a memoir about her abuse and marriage to Russell called Hiding From Reality: My Story of Love, Loss, and Finding the Courage Within.

“The cycle of violence is a really interesting thing,” she tells us. “It happens in a lot of relationships. You think you can change someone, and you can’t. You think that if they hit you for one reason or verbally abuse you for one reason and you don’t do that behavior again that it won’t happen again, and that’s not the case. They will always look for something new.”

But now Taylor is doing her best to remain upbeat and positive for Kennedy, and she’s putting dating on hold.

“I’m just so happy being single and loving my little girl and being so present with her,” she explains. “If you read my story, I’ve had a boyfriend since the time I was in the sixth grade and for me to be 40 and be so fine with being alone is beautiful. I just flew back from a vacation with my little girl, and we had the most fun that we’ve had in so long.”

Taylor Armstrong is doing her best to remain upbeat but The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star admits it can be difficult. The reality star says that although she wants her daughter Kennedy, 5, to have good memories of her father Russell Armstrong who killed himself on Aug. 15 , she can’t make her daughter forget her mother’s brutal beatings.

“Why would you miss a boy who beat you all the time?” Kennedy asked her Taylor one day. Taylor says it was in this moment that she realized that children know exactly what’s going on around them, even if you try and shield them.

Taylor has since written a memoir about her abuse and marriage to Russell called Hiding From Reality: My Story of Love, Loss, and Finding the Courage Within.

Taylor Armstrong is on her media tour for her tell-all book, Hiding from Reality, which details her experience living in an abusive relationship with her late husband, Russell Armstrong. In an interview with ET, Taylor revealed some sad intimate details about their sex life.

“He would make comments when we were sexual and you know about my weight…no woman needs to be criticized in that moment…criticisms about having sex with me is like ‘having sex with a skeleton,’” the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star told Entertainment Tonight‘s Nancy O’Dell.

She added, “I think you can see my eye has healed, but these things are going to stick with me a long time and sometimes, the emotional can hurt worse than the physical almost.”

Since Russell committed suicide in August, Taylor has been able to come clean about her experiences with him without feeling in danger. We can’t imagine going through what she did, but we’re glad she’s recovering.

Taylor Armstrong, 38, appeared on The Today Show Monday, Feb. 6, opening up about her difficult marriage to her late husband, Russell Armstrong, while promoting her memoir, Hiding From Reality.

“The good times were the best I ever had and the worst times were the worst…I was so desperate to keep it together, but it was so abusive for me,” Taylor explained.

“I was on my knees, hanging over a toilet with my jaw not in the place it was supposed to be, and there was saliva running out of my mouth and I was thinking to myself, ‘How am I not going to call an ambulance? How am I going to protect him? I don’t want him to go to jail. How am I going to get my jaw back into place?’” continued Taylor.

Horrible! As bad as that was for Taylor to endure, that wasn’t the most shocking part of the interview!

Savannah asked Taylor why she would do a reality show in the first place if there was abuse in her relationship.

“Subconsciously, I thought that the cameras would provide some protection. In a restaurant, people don’t act out. They act out at home. And so I thought with millions of people watching, he’s never going to act out. Maybe this is going to provide the protection we need to move forward,” said Taylor.

We feel for you Taylor, but abuse is abuse! Not acceptable. Ever.

Just six months shy of Russell Armstrong’s suicide, widow and reality star Taylor Armstrong is set to release a tell-all book on Feb. 7 called Hiding from Reality: My Story of Love, Loss, and Finding the Courage Within.

Although Tay-Tay has repeatedly claimed the book is to inspire abused women and help her and six-year-old daughter Kennedy survive financially, Russell’s sis, Laurie Kelsoe, believes it’s all about the Benjamins.

“Taylor never reached out to my family about writing a book. She’s a gold digger; that’s why she wrote the book,” she tells HollywoodLife. “I don’t think Taylor took into consideration what [effect] a book like this would have on Russell’s children! Her decision to write this book was purely motivated by money, but she is pretending that it’s about helping other women. What about helping her own family?!”

Regardless of Taylor’s motives, Laurie is more enraged over the damage the book will do to her big brother’s reputation, especially since he’s not alive to defend himself. “It’s the utmost disrespect…my mom is heartbroken. It’s such a disgrace and embarrassment,” she says. “Even if what Taylor wrote is true, why does she have to come out with a book about my brother now, so soon?”

She adds: “If my brother was abusing Taylor, she should have come to us. I was Russell’s best friend. If she would have come to me, I would have talked to Russell about it; my brother respected me. I know I could have helped him.”

Taylor Armstrong wants you to know that she lived in fear for the six years she was married to Russell Armstrong. Us Weekly obtained a few excerpts from Taylor’s memoir Hiding From Reality and the abuse that Taylor says she suffered during her marriage is beyond shocking.

“I always assumed I was being recorded in the car and at home,” Taylor’s book reads. “I was always careful to make sure the content of my conversations was very clear.”

Russell told Taylor that he wanted her to get pregnant early on in their relationship. But he made it clear that if she didn’t have a girl, he would want her to terminate the pregnancy. Taylor gave birth to their now 5-year-old daughter Kennedy.

“Russell wanted to keep the baby only if it was a girl,” the tell-all continues. “Because he already had two boys. At five weeks I took a blood test and mailed in the sample to learn the gender, and fate, of our baby.”

But Russell didn’t only control that aspect of Taylor’s life, he would allegedly physically abuse her.

“He would grab my hair and bang my head against the side of the car between the two door,” her book reads. “Or against the glass of the passenger window while he was driving, because it made his point to me but didn’t leave a visible mark.”

Taylor tried to hit Russell back during one of his violent outbursts but it only made matters worse.

“Don’t ever do that again because I almost killed you,” Russell told Taylor. “One of these days I’m afraid I’m going to kill you.”

Taylor finally decided to leave Russell after he reportedly punched her eye causing her to have to get reconstructive surgery and a titanium implant beneath her eye.

“Hearing that I was in danger of having a lifelong deformity from something that Russell had done to me was enough to finally snap me out of the spell Russell had over me,” she writes. “When my assistant and I got home from my doctor’s appointment, I told her to pack a bag for Kennedy.”
