Celebrity moms may have fame and fortune, but they’re not exempt from life-threatening pregnancy and birth complications with their little bundles of joy.

In the weeks after Finn Davey‘s birth, Tori Spelling revealed that her littlest bundle of joy almost didn’t make it. She suffered from placenta previa — where the placenta grows in the lowest part of the uterus and causes excessive bleeding — and feared she would miscarry.

“The first bleed happened at eight weeks… I looked down and saw blood. My heart dropped. I started screaming for [my husband] Dean [McDermott] and told him, ‘I just had a miscarriage.’ But the next day I went to the hospital and the doctor said everything was fine.” she told Us Weekly. “When I first heard his cry and Dean looked over at me and said, ‘We have our Finn!” I was overjoyed.”

Giuliana Rancic and husband Bill Rancic also had a long road to deliver their baby Edward Duke. After years of failed fertility treatments — and a miscarriage — Giuliana discovered she had breast cancer, and had to put her pregnancy plans on pause.

Fortunately, they were able to deliver a healthy baby boy via gestational surrogate on Aug. 29!

“This was the best year of my life because of the baby and it was the worst year of my life because of the breast cancer,” Giuliana told Savannah Guthrie on the Today show on Sept. 19. “But it just goes to show that if you’re strong and you’re positive, great things can come out of the darkest time in your life.”

Rosie Pope also struggled to conceive her daughter Vivienne Madison, and feared she would never be able to have another baby. However, her miracle arrived just in time for Mother’s Day! Vivienne was born on May 13.

As a maternity concierge, star of the hit Bravo show Pregnant in Heels, and a mom of three, Rosie Pope knows a thing or two about being pregnant. After consulting hundreds of women throughout her career, Rosie has figured out the key to best health after baby.

“Weight gain and loss is so emotional, and you have to be in a good place emotionally before you lose the weight after you’ve had a baby,” she told HollyBaby.com EXCLUSIVELY at the launch of her book Mommy IQ on Oct. 2 at Destination Maternity in NYC.

Rosie, who is a mom to J.R., 3, Wellington, 15 months, and Vivenne, 5 months, also pointed out that while being a mommy is an amazing experience, your world is turned upside down right after welcoming a baby — the added stress and perhaps postpartum depression could lead to a vicious cycle of overeating and feeling bad about it.

“First and foremost, get yourself in a good mental state, and then get in a physical state,” she said.

But that doesn’t mean pregnant women should beat themselves up worrying about getting back in shape while they’re still expecting. Rosie said  pregnancy should be a reason to indulge — just still eat healthfully and don’t go overboard with the bad-for-you stuff.

“For me, [pregnancy] was a really nice opportunity to go to a restaurant and know that I could order whatever I wanted,” Rosie she said. “Enjoy it. And [after you give birth], you’re much more likely to go back on your diet.”

Rosie Pope, who gave birth to baby Vivienne Madison in May, admits to HollywoodLife.com how she wasn’t prepared for her third child!

At Life & Style‘s Summer of Style event at the PH-D Rooftop Lounge at Dream Downtown on June 20, the Pregnant in Heels star explains how she becomes her own client on an episode, and that it was a “nightmare because I’m my own worst client.”

And why is she her own worst client?

“I think cause when you look after everybody else and make sure everybody else is prepared, then you take a look at your own life and it’s not so prepared. So having a look into how prepared I was for my third baby, I was not so good.”

Besides Vivienne, she’s mom to J.R., 3, and Wellington, 15 months. Rosie, who looked phenomenal post-baby, said having a girl was actually something she wasn’t anticipating: ”I think how overwhelmed and emotional I’d be to have a girl. I thought I’d be the same and I love my boys more than anything but I didn’t realize it’d bring out all these other kinds of emotions.”

She added, “You know with my sons I’m learning how to fight with a sword and about power rangers and all this other crazy stuff. And I forgot all about the feminine things and I’m really excited I get to do it with her!”

After receiving the best Mother’s Day present ever with the birth of her daughter, Rosie Pope revealed the name of her newborn girl!

The Bravo star named her baby Vivienne Madison Pope, according to Life & Style Weekly.

The mom gave birth on May 13, on Mother’s Day!  ”Our healthy and beautiful baby girl weighs 7 pounds, 9 ounces,” said Rosie to the magazine.

Rosie and her husband Daron Pope also have two sons, J.R., 3, and Wellington “Wells,” 15 months. ”[My husband] Daron and I are doing well and so in love with her, as are her older brothers and our extended family,” said the report.

Congratulations — we can’t wait to see pics of lil’ Vivienne!

Rosie Pope welcomed her third child with husband Daron Pope into the world today, May 13.

“On this very special Mother’s Day, we welcomed our first daughter into the world at 12:40 pm ET in New York City,” Rosie and her husband told Us Weekly. “Our healthy and beautiful baby girl weighs 7lbs 9 oz. We are all doing well and so in love with her, as are her older brothers and our extended family.”

Rosie and Daron have two sons together, J.R., 3, and Wellington “Wells,” 15 months.
