Traveling to the Big Apple to find Mr. Gold’s (Robert Carlyle) son seemed like a longshot, but Emma (Jennifer Morrison) finally managed to track him down on the Feb. 17 episode of Once Upon A Time — only to discover she’d already met him!

Let’s not beat around the bush anymore: Baelfire turned out to be none other than Emma’s baby daddy Neal (Michael Raymond-James), which means Mr. Gold is actually Henry’s other grandfather! Though many fans speculated this long ago, the news came as a pretty major shock to the show’s characters — particularly to Henry (Jared Gilmore), who had been told his father was a firefighter. And was dead.

Of course, learning this secret might actually be the worst thing anyone could have hoped for, as Mr. Gold recalled a dark promise he made about Henry long ago.

Is Mr. Gold Going To Kill Henry?

This week’s trip to the past provided some background on Rumpelstiltskin, particularly how he developed that sexy limp of his. After being called off to fight in the Ogre Wars, Rumples encountered a delightfully terrifying little seer, a blind child with eyes on her hands who could see into the future. She told him he’d have a child, but because of his actions on the battlefield, the child would be left fatherless. Fearing the worst and jumping to all the wrong conclusions, Rumples injured himself in order to be sent home.

Rumples reunited with that same seer years later — now in all his Dark One glory — and she told him of a far darker future. She told him about the curse and about the one who could break it. She also told him about a boy, one capable of being his downfall. Unaware that she was talking about Henry, Rumples quickly responded that he would merely kill the boy before he got the chance.

Will his plans change now that he knows Henry is his grandson?

Meanwhile, Back In Storybrooke…

Belle (Emilie de Ravin) still has no idea who she is, but that didn’t stop Mr. Gold from leaving her with the key to finding his dark dagger. Regina (Lana Parrilla) and Cora (Barbara Hershey) were more than happy to lift it from her, which led them to a map that they needed Hook’s help to translate. The ladies thanked him for his time, then ditched him, which has me thinking it won’t be long before we see Hook (Colin O’Donoghue) teaming up with the good guys to take the witches down.

And just when Regina thought she’d gotten the last laugh, we saw that the “outsider” (Ethan Embry) had recorded her using magic on his cell phone! He was sending it to someone, a lady — but who?

Happy Valentine’s Day! Because we love you — and because ABC was kind enough to give us a sneak peek — we’re serving up five major teases from the Feb. 17 episode of Once Upon A Time. To say that it’s a “big” episode would be an understatement; it introduces several game-changing elements that leaves the main characters’ fates unclear.

Ready? Here we go!

1. Baelfire Revealed?

The question we’ve waited more than a year to have answered is addressed this Sunday, but in true Once Upon A Time fashion, there’s a pretty major twist involved. By the time the episode ends, Mr. Gold (Robert Carlyle) probably wishes he was still in the dark.

2. Henry’s Twist

Have you ever thought there must be something more to Henry (Jared Gilmore) than meets the eye? If so, you’re definitely on the right track, as we’re given a very ominous hint about Emma’s (Jennifer Morrison)  little bundle of precocious-ness on this Sunday’s episode. (And no, “more than meets the eye” isn’t a Transformers reference. Disney doesn’t own that franchise.)

3. Villain Vs. Villain

Storybrooke’s trinity of evil — Regina (Lana Parrilla), Cora (Barbara Hershey) and Captain Hook (Colin O’Donoghue) — will be working together when this weekend’s episode begins, but by the end, one third of the wicked triangle is left out in the cold.

4. So Many Emotions

Not only is this the most game-changing episode of the season — and arguably the series — but it’s also one of the biggest sob-fests! Expect to see waterworks from many Storybrooke residents, even a few you’d never expect to see shed a tear.

5. Stranger Danger

Fans are already skeptical about Greg Mendell (Ethan Embry), the mysterious “outsider” who recently crashed into Storybrooke, and this week’s episode will do nothing to calm their nerves. He continues to stick his nose where it doesn’t belong.

A miracle occurred on the Oct. 21 episode of Once Upon A Time: We only had to wrap our heads around two timelines! Well, at least until the very end. The hour was mostly split between present-day Storybrooke, where Rumpelstiltskin (Robert Carlyle) nearly lost the woman of his dreams; and the past Enchanted Forest, where he did lose the woman of his dreams. Anyone else noticing a trend here?

Let’s start in the Enchanted Forest:

Apparently, Rumpelstiltskin’s love life has always been an ugly tragedy with bad teeth. He learned that his first wife, Mila, was in the custody of that sexy mofo Captain Hook (Colin O’Donoghue) — who nearly broke Twitter tonight, thanks to his emphatic legion of “Hookers” — but when he went to confront the swashbuckler, he was told she had died.

Lies! She didn’t die. She just ran away to be with Captain Hook because he had a sweet boat and ladies love pirates. And as totally reasonable payment for dumping him, Rumples literally ripped out Mila’s heart and crushed it into dust. (Why does everyone keep doing that on this show?!) Rumples also cut off Hook’s hand — origin! — before peacing out.

But it was Hook who got the last laugh — or the last “yargh,” whatever noise pirates make when they find things funny — because he made off with Rumple’s magic bean! Neverland, here we come…

Meanwhile, in Storybrooke:

After catching Rumpelstiltskin working on his dark magic, a troubled Belle (Emilie de Ravin) decided to take a walk and clear her head — but her stroll through Storybrooke took a seriously messed-up turn when a jolly circular gentleman kidnapped her in a sketchy alley. (This provincial life isn’t looking so boring now, eh Belle?)

It turns out the jolly stranger was commissioned to kidnap Belle by none other than her father, Crazy Old Maurice, but their happy reunion was cut short when Belle revealed her true lustful feelings for “the Beast.” Naturally, Maurice responded the way any father would: “Henchman, send this bitch down a mine shaft!” (I may have paraphrased that quote.)

Thanks to Ruby (Meghan Ory) and her keen sense of smell — I was hoping they would drive her through town with her head out the window, but whatever — the gang was able to track Belle down, and Rumples used his magic to save her. Seriously, though, shipping her out of Storybrooke in a mine cart? This isn’t Donkey Kong; let’s never do that again.

And how could I discuss Storybrooke’s mine without highlighting Charming’s (Josh Dallas) gun show? You know he only threw that tanktop on because he was jealous that Hook was getting all the attention.

And then, this happened:

After we saw that Rumpelstiltskin had Hook’s lackey Smee tied up in Storybrooke, the show cut to present-day Enchanted Forest, where Hook was cooking up a wicked little scheme with — that’s right — Cora (Barbara Hershey)!

They’ve both got their reasons for wanting to travel to Storybrooke — Cora wants to get revenge on Regina (Lana Parrilla), while Hook has his heavily-mascara’d eyes on Rumples — and their best bet is to get there together.

I ship them together already.

As always, it’s time for you to forget everything you thought you knew about your favorite fairytales. The Nov. 13 episode of Once Upon A Time re-introduces us to Cinderella (Jessy Schram), but it turns out it wasn’t her fairy godmother who sent her to the ball — it was Rumplestiltskin (Robert Carlyle)! And in true Rumplestiltskin style, he makes a deal with her: He’ll grant her the life she desires if she’ll give him her first-born son.

Their little deal carries over into Storybrooke, of course, as a pregnant “Ashley” is on the run from Mr. Gold — and he enlists Emma’s (Jennifer Morrison) help to track her down!
