666 Park Avenue is closing its doors for good in 2013, and according to Robert Buckley, none of the residents are guaranteed to check out alive! “No one is safe,” he told HollywoodLife.com on Dec. 9 at The Cinema Society’s screening of Stand Up Guys at the MoMA in NYC, sponsored by Chrysler and Bally. “At least one person, if not more, are in serious peril.”

The script, which Robert described as “pretty nuts,” also answers any lingering questions fans have about New York City’s “most seductive address.”

“We are going to wrap it up nicely,” he assured us. “It’s going to be pretty good. To wrap it all up in an hour is hard, but [the writers] do a pretty great job of it.”

So what’s next for the former One Tree Hill star now that 666 Park Avenue is coming to an early end?

“Pilot season,” he told us. “I would love to get into comedy! I’ve done drama now. If it was an existing show, maybe New Girl, or Ben & Kate, or [It's Always] Sunny in Philadelphia.”

(For the record, we could totally see him seducing, or at least attempting to seduce, Zooey Deschanel on New Girl.)

Hollywoodlife.com caught up with Robert Buckley at the the Cinema Society and Tumi’s screening of This Must Be the Place on Oct. 25, where he told us we can expect “some sexy costumes, at least one fistfight and at least one kidnapping” on the Halloween episode of 666 Park Avenue. “It’s our strongest episode yet” he said. Sounds exciting!

Robert is really enjoying playing Brian, as he says it’s quite different from his previous role, sports agent Clay Evans on The CW’s One Tree Hill.

“My Twitter followers are up in arms,” he told us. “They are like, ‘We can’t believe Clay is cheating on Quinn — and now potentially on his new wife.’ Clay is such a sweet guy, and Brian is a sweet guy, but he is making some bad decisions. It’s a lot of fun to play him.”

As One Tree Hill‘s series finale inches closer and closer — it’s literally seven days away now — the residents of Tree Hill burned their failures and burdens at the town’s Burning Boat Festival.

Clay (Robert Buckley) got the “aww”s rolling by giving Logan (Pierce Gagnon) the perfect room, complete with airplanes, comic books and even a view of the ocean for his first sleepover. But Logan hadn’t quite conquered his fear of the body of water filled with sharks, jellyfish and sea monsters. (I think he was really scared of the ocean because his dad had basically been drowned by Dan Scott twice in the same ocean). Clay hoped out to experience a milestone with his son by getting him into the water for the first time, but it was Quinn (Shantel VanSanten) who had the breakthrough with Logan.

After a long day’s work, Clay, Quinn and Logan retired to their tent — yes, a tent in the middle of the living room — where Clay finally proposed! He didn’t have a ring just yet, but don’t worry: Logan was there to save the day with his power ring! Be still, my beating heart.

Meanwhile, Mouth (Lee Norris) continued to make a complete turn around — seriously, he’s skinny and has abs now — Millie (Lisa Goldstein) looked for a new co-anchor so her boyfriend could focus on his true love: sports. After one total failure, Skills (Antwon Tanner) stepped up to the plate and hit a home run! Meanwhile, Haley (Bethany Joy Galeotti) broke the exciting news to Chase (Stephen Colletti) that Karen was willing to sell him the bar, the only place he ever truly called home.

Julian (Austin Nichols) was busy preparing for a meeting to get his television series approved, and after reading Brooke’s (Sophia Bush) diary for inspiration, his script was accepted! Brooke still struggled with her past, and it even came back to haunt her when she walked in on her mother with “doing someone in the middle of the day” hair — and that “someone” turned out to be Brooke’s dad! After having a few words with Julian, Ted (Richard Burgi) and Victoria (Daphne Zuniga) decided to join their daughter as co-owners of Baker Man. Needless to say, Brooke didn’t even recognize these people as her parents. And this is a good thing.

This episode was beautifully directed by Sophia Bush, who provided us with a little bit of comedy to ease our pain for the next week.

The show hasn’t been picked up for the fall 2011 season yet. Do you think it deserves a last-minute renewal?

Many CW viewers breathed a sigh of relief April 26 when the network announced the renewal of five hit series — but the news wasn’t quite as hopeful for One Tree Hill fans, whose favorite show remains very much on the bubble. As a longtime fan myself, I have to say I’d be pretty bummed if these next three episodes also turn out to be the last. I’m not ready to say goodbye to the group of madcap southerners who taught me so much about life. And actually made me care about basketball.

1. The cast wants to do it.

It’s not every day you get actors wanting to stick with a series into its ninth year, which I think is a true testament to what a great show One Tree Hill is, and how much the cast enjoys working together. Sophia Bush, Bethany Joy Galeotti, Austin Nichols, Robert Buckley, Stephen Colletti and Lisa Goldstein have all signed on for a potential ninth season, with James Lafferty reportedly interested in returning at least part-time.

2. The fans deserve a ‘final season.’

Much like Smallville fans have been savoring every second of the show’s admitted “final season,” One Tree Hill fans deserve the same experience. There are a ton of story lines to wrap up, and unless the writers know ahead of time that the series is ending, there will be a ton of loose ends left… well, loose.

3. The characters’ stories aren’t finished!

The denizens of Tree Hill, N.C., have been through a lot over the past eight years. We’ve watched them long for their dreams, achieve their dreams, and ultimately… lose their dreams. Do we seriously want the series to end on such a low note? Let’s see Nathan’s back heal enough for him to shoot some hoops again. Let’s see Brooke regain her clothing empire (which it looks like she’s finally starting to.) Heck, I’m even interested in seeing Mouth (Lee Norris) get back in the newsroom!

4. Lucas & Peyton might actually come back… seriously this time!

While I’m sure the current regulars hate hearing about it, the fans really want to see Lucas (Chad Murray) and Peyton (Hilarie Burton) make one last trip to Tree Hill before the series ends. And Chad recently broke his silence about the possibility, tweeting: “Return to oth? I don’t know. Maybe next season for u guys.”

5. Do you really want Glee‘s Brittany to die so young?

One of my favorite lines ever spoken on Glee — not that there are many — was when sexually-confused cheerleader Brittany (Heather Morris) said she didn’t want to die “before One Tree Hill gets canceled.” Doesn’t she deserve at least a few more precious months on this earth?

I feel like I had a real Thanksgiving tonight. Granted, my family members were replaced by the sexy, emotional creatures of Tree Hill, so there was slightly more drama involved. There was a friendly game of touch football… but it ended in a fist fight between Alex (Jana Kramer) and Mia (Kate Voegele); there was a ridiculous spread of food… but most of it came in the form of alcohol; and there was the long-awaited return of a family member, Quinn (Shantel VanSanten)… but she might also be a murderer! Yup, only slightly more drama than normal.

Jailbird Victoria (Daphne Zuniga) crashed Thanksgiving at the James-Scott household, which put her in the same room as Brooke (Sophia Bush) for the first time since their heated prison confrontation. As you can imagine, the results were… not fantastic. As a matter of fact, Millie (Lisa Goldstein) had to quickly grab the carving knife from Brooke’s reach as soon as Victoria stepped through the door. I guess we’re back to the Brooke-Victoria frienemy-ship we first saw in season five.

Meanwhile, Skills (Antwon Tanner) is apparently still very much into cougars, as he immediately eyed Julian’s (Austin Nichols) mom (Sharon Lawrence) as his prey. Apparently his fling with Deb was just the start of a serious old lady fetish. I’m kind of bummed they didn’t hook up — but hey, there’s always the wedding!

I will say, I’m super disappointed with Erin’s story line — mostly because it’s barely a story line. I’ve had my doubts about her ever since we met her (an unidentified co-worker of mine is still convinced she’s a man with the hots for Haley.) We finally found her “deep, dark” secret tonight, and it turned out to be that her parents “didn’t believe in her music.” Seriously. That’s it? So much for my dreams of a psycho for season eight. (Wait, is Katie still out there?)

I’m also already yawning at the idea of Nathan (James Lafferty) going back to school. I wasn’t crazy about him dropping basketball (PUN!) and becoming a sports agent. I’m not sure if I can handle him with a backpack.

Fortunately, Quinn might be plotting something that would seriously kick this show back into gear. When I said she might be a murder I wasn’t kidding — just speculating. She’s back from Africa, and in the episode’s final moments, we learned she’s been following around trigger-happy Katie and playing paparazzi. Will she take back that gun and take Katie out for the sake of herself and Clay (Robert Buckley?) I’m thinking hoping yes!

I say “speechless,” of course, because it wasn’t technically Lucas in the conventional sense of the word. As in… not Chad Michael Murray. In fact, it was just a dummy that Skills (Antwon Tanner) dressed in Lucas’ Ravens jersey and decorated with some permanent marker facial hair. Lots of other silly things happened tonight, like drunk shopping, face slapping and plot scheming! Just another week in Tree Hill.

Desperate to find a best man, Julian (Austin Nichols) organized a poker game with the guys, but messed up big time by bringing along Alex (Jana Kramer) because, as we all know, drama tends to follow Alex like the ghost of Uncle Keith haunts Dan Scott’s every waking moment. She planned on getting back on Chase’s (Stephen Colletti) good side, but instead accidentally let it slip that she slept with Clay (Robert Buckley) way back when.

Meanwhile, Brooke (Sophia Bush) went wedding shopping with Julian’s mom (the epic Sharon Lawrence), who had a little too much to drink and passed out on the floor. Fortunately, this freed Brooke up to go home and deliver the best line of the episode, referring to the Lucas doll as Julian’s “best mannequin” since he did, in fact, choose it. Brooke Davis hasn’t lost her wit.

And what the whaaaaat is up with Erin? She agreed to work with Haley (Bethany Joy Galeotti) at Red Bedroom Records, and she made a crazy little face when she walked through the door. She’s scheming something big. Someone on the HollywoodLife.com staff thinks she might secretly be a man, but I’m not naming names.

Was I watching One Tree Hill tonight… or Lost? The similarities are uncanny.

While I disagree with the show’s decision to extend Clay’s (Robert Buckley) adventures in Purgatory for yet another week, I will applaud the Sept. 21 episode of The CW’s One Tree Hill for trying something weird. Sure, we’ve seen another version of this storyline before — remember when Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) had a post-heartattack visit to the afterlife? — but I was still legitimately sucked into it. When Clay watched himself dying, I felt like I was watching myself dying. Spooky stuff.

The ghostly merriment continues next week, but hopefully it won’t go any further than that. If we only get half a season, I don’t want to spend any more of it watching dead characters. Let’s just get that miracle pregnancy for Sophia Bush already!

Additional assorted afterthoughts:

1. Could the show be any more desperate to get Lucas and Peyton (Hilarie Burton) back? They’ve both been mentioned many, many times — and we’re only two episodes in!
2. Does everyone in Tree Hill, N.C., use an iPhone?
3. For the first time, I’m actually liking Mia (Kate Voegele) even if I did NOT like her version of the theme song tonight. It’s entertaining to watch her fight with Alex (Jana Kramer) and it almost makes me care about Chase’s (Stephen Colletti) storyline.
4. When they make another Superman movie, James Lafferty should audition. He’s kind of got that whole emotionless Christopher Reeves/Brandon Routh thing going on.
5. Haley’s (Bethany Joy Galeotti) speech about her “beautiful swan of a sister” is undoubtedly one of those ridiculous things that only a One Tree Hill character could get away with saying.
6. I’ve been pretty sick of Jamie (Jackson Brundage) lately, but I loved his scenes with Julian (Austin Nichols) tonight.

Not a whole lot happened this week, but it was a solid hour with the kind of performances (and musical montages) we’ve come to expect.

The eighth season premiere has the best ending ever. If you haven’t watched, don’t read on because I’m totally going to spoil it for you.

None of my friends believe me, but The CW’s One Tree Hill can be really good. At its best, it’s car crashes and school shootings and psycho murderers on prom night. The Sept. 14 season premiere comes vaguely close to that with a clever mixture of the show’s trademark romantic gobbledigook and the best twist ending ever!

Ready? OK, so for the entire hour we’re led to believe that Clay (Robert Buckley) only dreamt that he and Quinn (Shantel VanSanten) got shot, and it’s very disappointing. But in the last two minutes, they both start bleeding from their bullet wounds and we see that their bodies are definitely still laying in pools of blood at Clay’s house.

I’m also really into Brooke’s storyline. Her cougar mom (Daphne Zuniga) and assistant-turned-model-turned-president Millicent (Lisa Goldstein) lied to investors so now their whole company has lost its “integrity.” Sophia gives an Emmy-worthy speech about integrity that rivals her tirade about journalism ethics after the school shooting in season three:

Aside from all that, there’s way too much of 7 or 8 or 9-year-old Jamie — who I’m pretty sure has a mullet now. He has a bunch of awkward conversations with mom Haley (Bethany Joy Galeotti) about sex and it makes me miss the days when the kids were all slutty and… not parents.

Other things worth appreciating in the premiere:

1. Brooke, who is physically unable to get pregnant but will undoubtedly conceive before the series finale, calls Haley, who announces that she’s pregnant with her second child, a “selfish baby-haver.” I chuckled.
2. Brooke throws Millicent’s several-episode cocaine addiction back in her face in a hilarious manner. (“Hey, that’s not fair,” Millicent shrugs.)
3. Nathan tells Jamie not to say “retarded.” It’s a really nice thing for the writers to put in there. I’m sure Jennifer Aniston would disagree.
4. It’s nice to see Stephen Colletti has finally moved on from Lauren Conrad.
5. And finally… Julian, as a way to make Brooke fertile, offers to “romance her ovaries.”
