Frantic parents raced to Sandy Hook Elementary School on Friday Dec. 14 to find out if their child was harmed by Adam Lanza’s deadly attack, where he killed 26 people including 20 children. Sadly, after 11AM — 90 minutes after the first shots were heard — a police officer allegedly entered the firehouse where families were being reunited and said, “I’m sorry, there are no more children.”

“The wailing started. I will never forget that sound,” Monsignor Robert Weiss, priest of St Rose of Lima Catholic Church, said. “They fell to their knees sobbing. That was the most terrible moment of all. What do you say to those parents?”

Robbie Parker was one of the parents who found out his daughter, Emilie Parker, 6, was killed in the shooting.

“I’d like to offer our deepest condolences to all the families who were directly affected. It’s a horrific tragedy, and our hearts go out to them,” Robbie said in a press conference on Dec. 15. ”This includes the family of the shooter, and I want you to know that our love and support go out to you as well.”

Explaining why he’s talking, Robbie said, “I’ve been contacted by so many people wanting to know how we’re doing that this might be the best way to share those feelings.”

“My daughter Emilie would be one of the first ones giving her love and support to all of the victims, because that’s the kind of person she is” her heart-broken dad said. ”As the deep pain begins to settle in our hearts, we find comfort in the incredible person Emilie was and how many people she was able to touch in her short time on Earth.

Emilie, 6, was one the Adam’s 26 victims on Dec. 14.

Our thoughts remain with the victims who lost their lives, their suffering families, and the shaken community of Newtown, CT. We can’t imagine what they are feeling.
