The celebrations have begun — Ali Larter celebrated her baby shower on Oct. 2 at a girlfriend’s house in Los Angeles! “It was an incredible day and I just felt so lucky to be surrounded by so many dear friends and family,” the 34-year-old Resident Evil: Afterlife actress told People. “It was a very special day!”
They say having a pet is good practice for becoming a mom, which means Ali is well prepared for her imminent arrival!

Here’s some comforting news for all of the new moms out there — not every famous mother in Hollywood managed to lose their baby weight overnight. In fact, model/actress/designer Milla Jovovich, 34, is proud of the fact that it took her about a year to work off the 70 pounds she gained while pregnant with her daughter, Ever, 3. “I took my time with the weight loss,’ says Milla, who ballooned up to almost 200 pounds and credits the Five Factor Diet combined with a lot of good old-fashioned exercise for helping her get her body back in shape. “I didn’t do some rapid juice cleanse. I did well-balanced meals and didn’t eat after 7,” she says.
The mom-to-be says she plans to take some time off after her baby is born.
Ali Larter was promoting her new movie Resident Evil: Afterlife on The Today Show this morning, but all Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb could focus on was the first-time mom’s attachment to her bump — because she couldn’t keep her hands off it!
The secret is out — Ali and her husband Hayes MacArthur are going to be the proud parents of a baby boy this winter!
Ali Larter didn’t mean to reveal her baby secret, but during an interview with Fox News Ali shared the news that she and hubby Hayes MacArthur are most likely expecting a baby boy. “I’m not a gamer. I’m not someone who can sit at the computer and figure out these games — it takes a different kind of genius to get to the different levels and get through the different doors,” Ali said. Then, pointing to her tummy, she added: “Possible gamer? Well, after watching these movies and hearing all the gunfire I don’t know what he’s — it’s — going to turn out like.”
