Charlotte Arnold, Ray Ablack & Samantha Munro Talk Graduation & Saying Goodbye To 'Degrassi'

The ‘Degrassi’ cast tells all: Find out who cried, who’s sticking around, and who’s drowning their sorrows in ‘Star Wars!’

This week doesn’t just mark the end of Degrassi: Now or Never — it also marks the graduation, and final episodes, of some of our favorite characters! HollywoodLife.com sat down with Charlotte Arnold, Raymond Ablack and Samantha Munro during a recent visit to the show’s Toronto set to get their thoughts on the big finale. I hope you’ve got some tissues handy.

“I’m really going to miss playing Anya,” Samantha says. “She cries a lot, if you haven’t noticed, and I’m going to have nowhere to cry anymore, so I’m going to have to do it at home. With sad movies.” (Star Wars, if co-star Daniel Kelly has anything to say about it.)

Ray, on the other hand, isn’t merely looking back on the past; he’s got big plans for the future. “I’m buying new clothing!” he reveals. “I’ve never really spent money on clothing, but I feel like I graduated high school for the second time in my life … and I’m ready to reinvent myself.”

And then there’s Charlotte. Along with reflecting on how far Holly J has come over the years — let us not forget the mean girl that slapped poor Darcy’s lunch out of her hand — Charlotte also says she soaked up every last minute of her time on set.

“I only cried a little bit,” she admits.

'Degrassi' Scoop: Cory Lee & Ray Ablack Spill On Ms. Oh's 'Adult' Relationship With Sav!

Cory says it was ‘awesome’ getting to ditch Ms. Oh’s ‘straight and narrow’ persona. Do you support this taboo new couple?

Admit it: From the moment Ms. Oh (Cory Lee) entered Degrassi‘s hallowed halls, you knew it was only a matter of time before she got it on with a student — and she finally did just that with Sav (Ray Ablack) on last night’s episode! I chatted with Cory and Ray during a recent visit to Degrassi‘s Toronto set and they told me why they love their hot new storyline.

For Cory, it was all about getting to break out of the Ms. Oh mold.

“Playing the normal Ms. Oh role is more of a challenge for me,” Cory admits. “Someone a little more straight-and-narrow, to the rules, very authoritative. [Getting to switch that up] was awesome.

Ray had some fun with the storyline as well, noting that the age difference between the characters helped Sav to grow… as a man.

“Sav’s always been this shy, not-able-to-look-people-in-the-eye kind of kid. I feel towards the end of this year, especially with Ms. Oh, he’s become a bit of a man from this ‘adult relationship’ he’s trying to maneuver his way through.”

'Degrassi' Season Premiere Scoop: Keke Palmer Spills On Her Hookup With Sav!

Do you think Keke will finally lift Sav out of his slump, or are you hoping he gets back with Holly J?

Degrassi kicks off its 11th season with a full-hour premiere at 9 p.m. tonight — and who better to help kick it off than actual TeenNick royalty? True Jackson, VP star Keke Palmer crashes the huge episode, playing herself, and told HollywoodLife.com all about her “romantic connection” with Sav (Raymond Ablack!) “He sees me for me,” she spilled.

Sav bumps into Keke when she arrives in town for a concert, and she told us it doesn’t take long for sparks to fly.

“[Sav] doesn’t necessarily want to get to know me just because I’m a celebrity,” she explained. “He knows I’m famous, but that’s not all I am to him.”

Keke said her own music is taking on a more “mature” sound, and told us who she’d like to collaborate with in the future — besides the Three Tenners, of course:

“I love Brandy and I love Kelly Rowland,” she revealed. “There aren’t many male singers my age. They’re all older than me. … Oh, Justin Bieber? Yeah, that’d be cool.”

She also told us that guest starring on Degrassi is something she’s always wanted to do, even before she became a Nickelodeon star, herself.

“[I've been a fan of Degrassi] since I was about 13, so I was really excited to finally be a part of the show,” she said. “When I first started working at Nickelodeon, I was like, ‘You guys have to let me be on an episode of Degrassi. I had visited the set a bunch of times [whenever I was in Toronto] because I was that big of a fan.”
