We’re just days away from the return of Once Upon A Time, and if you think Cora (Barbara Hershey) and Hook (Colin O’Donoghue) are the biggest headaches for the residents of Storybrooke, this clip from the Jan. 6 episode will prove to be a real eye opener. Not only is the dastardly duo nowhere to be found, but one of the show’s most beloved characters might be saying goodbye forever.

In the clip, Emma (Jennifer Morrison) and Ruby (Meghan Ory) discover an unconscious Archie (Raphael Sbarge) in his apartment, and based on previous spoilers indicating that Regina (Lana Parrilla) is accused of murder, I’m thinking his outcome is pretty grim.

More ‘Once Upon A Time’ Spoilers For 2013

Archie’s potential death isn’t the only surprise coming to Storybrooke this year.

On the Jan. 13 episode, titled “The Outsider,” Mr. Gold (Robert Carlyle) becomes more determined than ever to find his son, even going so far as to develop a spell that will allow him to leave town! Meanwhile, Belle (Emilie de Ravin) and Mulan (Jamie Chung) join forces in battle.

Then on the Jan. 20 episode, titled “In The Name Of The Brother,” we get a more in-depth look into the life of Dr. Whale (David Anders); actually, make that Dr. Frankenstein.

And as if all that wasn’t enough, former Charmed star Rose McGowan will guest star in a 2013 episode as young Cora!

Just asking: Could Jiminy Cricket have a few skeletons in his tiny, adorable closet? Raphael Sbarge promises we’ll learn a lot more about Jiminy’s past on the Nov. 27 episode of Once Upon A Time — in the show’s continuing effort to obliterate everything we thought we know about our fairy tales.

“What we didn’t get in the original telling of the Pinocchio story is how Jiminy Cricket came to be,” Raphael tells HollywoodLife.com. “The road that got him the point where he now always says ‘Do the right thing.’ What they do in this episode is tell the genesis of Jiminy’s way of looking at the world. It comes, like any consciousness does, out of the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune — some tough knocks. Through that journey, we see how he gets his sense of what right and wrong is.”

And what about Jiminy’s Storybrooke alter ego, Archie? With the recent news that someone in the real world is about to reach their unhappily-ever-after, I couldn’t help but ask Raphael how worried we should all be about Archie.

“As the queen feels more preempted by what is clearly a drawing of lines between good and evil, there are going to be all sorts of opportunities for people to square off,” Raphael says… ever so cryptically. “We’ve seen the mayor trying to control [Archie], and you’ll see in this next episode how and why that is.”
