After eight years and nearly 200 episodes, the doors of Dunder Mifflin closed forever — to the fans, at least — during the May 16 series finale of The Office, and the big ending went down in the most appropriately weird setting I could have ever imagined: Dwight’s (Rainn Wilson) wedding to Angela (Angela Kinsey)!

The nutty nuptials doubled as an excuse to bring back some old faces — including Andy (Ed Helms), whose tearful audition on America’s Next Acapella Sensation had since turned him into a viral sensation.

But no return was more welcome — or highly anticipated — than that of Michael Scott (Steve Carell), who had some super-weird words to say to the camera about Dwight and Angela’s union:

“I feel like all my kids grew up, and then they married each other. It’s every parent’s dream!”

Pam & Jim’s Big Announcement

We’ve been with Jim (John Krasinski) and Pam (Jenna Fisher) through every phase of their relationship — meeting, dating, getting married and having babies — so it was only fitting that the series finale introduced another major milestone for the couple: Moving as far away from Scranton, Penn., as humanly possible!

The show’s main couple is packing its bags and moving to Austin, where I can confidently say they will never work at a place quite like Dunder Mifflin again.

More Final-Episode Revelations

1. Meredith (Kate Flannery) discovered her son is a stripper, and she’s totally OK with it.

2. Erin (Ellie Kemper) met her birth parents, played by Joan Cusack and Ed Begley Jr.!

3. Phyllis (Phyllis Smith) and Stanley (Leslie David Baker) were reunited.

4. Ryan (B.J. Novak) and Kelly (Mindy Kaling) ran off together!

5. Nellie (Catherine Tate) might have taken Ryan’s baby to Europe.

6. Oscar (Oscar Nuñez) is apparently very good at Oragami.

That last one really blew my mind.

Michael Scott proposes to Holly and says good-bye to his office crew! Tears are shed all around, but we can’t help but smile as we watch the world’s best boss fly off to his new family.

Isn’t Holly (Amy Ryan) the best girl for Michael Scott (Steve Carell)? Everyone is waiting to see how he’s going to propose to the woman of his dreams. He actually tried to write it in fire!

They’re so in love that Holly actually tries to propose to him! Isn’t that the cutest? Unfortunately, Michael won’t let it happen and runs out of the room before she can say anything more.

Michael calls Holly over and gives her the biggest test of all: the entire staff each holds a flaming candle asking to marry her. Then the smoke alarm goes off and they get drenched. Michael pulls out the ring and the two kiss like a scene in The Notebook. It couldn’t be cuter! But there’s one twist — Michael’s leaving with Holly to Colorado so she can be with his father.

Now that the news is out, Michael tells everyone he’s leaving tomorrow when he’s actually leaving at the end of the day. He crosses off a list of names on a piece of paper, saying individual good-byes before leaving for good. After playing one last game of paint-ball with Dwight (Rainn Wilson) and giving his top clients to Andy (Ed Helms), he calls one last meeting in the conference room.

Michael leaves with everyone thinking he’ll be in tomorrow. Except for Jim Halpert, he tells Michael “good-byes are a bitch.” The office set up a good-bye party and were really disappointed when Michael didn’t show up. Deangelo (Will Ferrel) is so upset he grabs a corner of the cake and too upset to eat it, he throws it in the trash. Twice.

This episode was hugely emotional for any true Office fan — one-on-one character moments that brought tears to our eyes. Michael tells us, “Holly’s my family now… The people you work with are your very best friends.” Can you believe it? He’s actually leaving! Will you still be watching The Office with him gone?

• John Stamos offered a casting update by saying, “Contrary to the rumors, i am not replacing Charlie Sheen on Two and Half Men. however, Martin Sheen has asked me to be his son.”
• Andy Richter couldn’t relate to Charlie’s issues, admitting, “Unlike SOME people, I can stop winning whenever I want! #sorrycharlie.”
• Zooey Deschanel weighed in on the situation, tweeting, “MYSTERY SOLVED: now we know who the “half a man” is in “two and a half men.”…HINT: it’s not the kid!!!!”
• Mindy Kaling jokingly compared the incidents to her own show, The Office, by saying, “[Rainn Wilson] must be so excited all this charlie sheen stuff is distracting from his own porno drug tyrant behavior on our show.”
• Denis Leary thought Charlie couldn’t dig himself much more of a hole, saying, ”Is it just me or is Charlie Sheen starting to sound a lot like Moammar Kaddafi?”
• Piers Morgan was one of the sole defenders of Charlie, saying, “Is it just me that thinks Charlie Sheen be allowed to behave how the hell he likes in his own time?”

Birthdays are all about surprises and The Office star’s son definitely got a gift he wasn’t expecting on his special day!

Rainn Wilson‘s little boy, Walter, celebrated his birthday on September 30, and man, did he get a big surprise! “My son’s 6th birthday and he gets head lice!!” Rainn tweeted, “Happy Birthday, Walter. Love, God.” At least he has a sense of humor about it!

Stephen Moyer spends some quality time with his daughter!

Rainn, 44, and his wife, Holiday Reinhorn, practice the Baha’i faith, which focuses on the unity of all human beings. “The birth of our son…was such a miracle that [Holiday] found herself saying prayers and spiritually connecting to the Faith. She became a Baha’i in 2004,” Rainn told the Baha’i Faith website. “We pray with Walter every night before he goes to bed.”

We bet they’re praying the lice go away quickly! And we guess Rainn and Holiday will be buying Wlater a very special birthday gift: LiceFree shampoo!

The actor says that this season, his seventh, will be his last but the show will go on!

Steve Carell has finally confirmed after much speculation that after seven seasons on NBC’s The Office he will be leaving the show this coming May. “I just think it’s time,” the funny man told E! Online. “I want to fulfill my contract. When I first signed on I had a contract for seven seasons, and this coming year is my seventh. I just thought it was time for my character to go.” Say it ain’t so Steve!

Steve went on to say, “It doesn’t certainly mean the end of the show. I think it’s just a dynamic change to the show, which could be a good thing, actually. Add some new life and some new energy…I see it as a positive in general for the show.”

With his recent successes in feature films, such as Date Night with Tina Fey this comes as little surprise, but who will replace him on The Office? Could one of the current cast members like Ed Helms, Rainn Wilson, John Krasinski, B.J. Novak, Mindy Kaling, or Jenna Fischer be getting a promotion?

Even worse, can The Office survive without Steve Carell?
