Kate was as gorgeous as ever at Lucrecia Martel’s ‘Muta’ party presented by MIU MIU July 19. Besides her obvious genetic advantage, we think it’s the purple hue that really did the trick.

The purple shading that Kate Mara swept around her light brown gaze perfectly accentuated her eyes. For years, the color purple has been considered fit for royalty. Nicole Richie celebrated her gorgeous February Lucky magazine cover with a fun A-list party yesterday and, while most people loved the photos of all the bright stars enjoying the bash, I zeroed in on her uber cool hair and makeup! Want to steal the designer/author/style icon’s bohemian chic hair and makeup look? Read on!

Nicole’s hair has natural curl and wave, so it looks like she’s simply dried her hair using her fingers and a diffuser. A great wave spray will help you get the look if your normal hair texture is different.
Her skin is clear and lovely, a fantastic backdrop for the 70′s style makeup she’s got going on. A light foundation is really all you need.
The eyes have it with this look and that smoky eye using multiple shades of lavender, purple, plum and amethyst is just spectacular. Experiment with the shadows for the look that suits you best, then top it off with three coats of a good volumizing mascara.
Keep the lips simple: a nice light pink will do.

Keri Hilson Wears Bright Purple Eye Shadow To A BET Awards After Party! Do You Love It?

What do you think of Keri Hilson’s bright purple eye shadow. Is it a hit or a total miss?

Keri Hilson went for a dramatic, colorful purple lid at the 2010 BET Awards on June 27 in LA. For the Interscope Recrods after party, Keri paired her electric purple peepers with a pretty, purpley-pink lip. This isn’t the first time Keri has sported a bold, lavender lid. She wore a more subdued version to the Grammys this year, but this shocking hue is by far the most out-there color she’s worn yet. I love how she’s brought the shadow into a cat-like shape. Purple shadow is a huge trend for summer, as are electric tones. Do you think this looks cool, or is it too over the top?
