Could the whole Kim & Michael relationship be a staged hookup for her new show Kim & Kourtney Take New York City? It’s sure looking that way!

The rumors are not true! Kim Kardashian is NOT dating Michael Copon! Despite what people are saying, the 27-year-old former blue Power Ranger cleared up the misunderstanding for us on Oct. 12. “[I'm] single,” Michael said at the JC Penney Launch of MNG by Mango at Capitale in New York City. “We are just good friends.”

Michael didn’t even really appear that interested in Kim! ”She is very held back, reserved, knows what she wants,” Michael said. “I have nothing negative to say about Kim, she is a sweet girl. [But] she is an independent woman doing her thing. I respect any women that does her thing.”

Michael went on to say, “I met Kim on Beyond The Break,” the show he previously starred on. “It was great meeting up with her and [the family].”

It turns out Michael did know a few members of the Kardashian klan prior to meeting Kim. “I do know the family — I have known Khloe for about 11 years,” Michael said. “I met Khloe through the Disney crowd.”

Despite going on a date with Kim last week, the whole fling seems to be set up or staged. Michael has other obligations in NYC that he seemed much more concerned about. “I am in NYC producing a movie called Killer Holiday,” he said, “And also working on some music.”

Poor Kim! This means she’s still on the market, but that could be good news for all the bankers in NYC rumored to be trying to hunt her down for a date — and even better if she’s actually trying to work out things with her ex Reggie Bush!

Rumors floating around suggest that this former Power Ranger has won over the heart of Hollywood’s hottest single lady!

When Kim Kardashian recently moved to New York City, not only did she get a new doorman, the 29-year-old allegedly got a new beau, too!

The Huffington Post reports the reality TV vixen has been dating former blue Power Ranger, Michael Copon. For a girl who said she’s open and willing to start dating again, she sure knows how to go rummage through her Little Black Book.

The former One Tree Hill star must have made a big impression on Kim, because now he’s back in the picture. Huffington Post sources say he will even be featured on Kim and Kourtney’s new show “Kourtney and Kim Take NYC.”

What you probably didn’t know is that Kim and Michael, 27, have already dated…or at least their characters did on TV! Michael appeared on several episodes of Beyond the Break, a 2006 television series based around four female surfers in Hawaii, in which Kim played Micheal’s girlfriend in several episodes. Since then, the two have reportedly maintained a friendship.
