This is the second child Mariska has adopted within a year!

Law & Order: SVU actress Mariska Hargitay adopted her daughter Amaya Josephine six months ago, and now she’s welcomed a home a son, Andrew Nicolas Hargitary Hermann!

Mariska and her husband, Peter Hermann, were able to bring Andrew home within a week of processing their paperwork, according to People.

The actress couldn’t hide her joy: “We never in a million years thought it would happen this quickly, but something inside of us knew that this was right, and we said, ‘Yes, yes, yes!’”

According to Mariska, Andrew, who was born over the summer, has already bonded with sister Amaya. “They’ll lie in the crib together, and she’ll hold his hand and put her arm around him,” she said. “She’s already so protective of him.”

Two babies — plus their older brother August — might be a lot to handle, but Mariska is ready. “We knew this was our guy,” she said. “Everything about it felt right. It felt divinely right.”

Mariska and her hubby Peter have been trying so hard to have another baby and now their dreams have finally come true!

Breaking news! Law & Order:SVU star Mariska Hargitay and her husband, Peter Hermann, who have been hoping to have another child, secretly adopted a baby girl, Amaya Josephine, from Texas. “I’m deliriously happy,” Mariska gushes to People. “From the minute she was born, she was just surprisingly alert and so full of love.” Amazing!

“We were considering both international and domestic adoption and we’re thrilled that this is the way our prayers were answered,” Mariska explains. “We talked a lot about mixed-race adoptions, and we are very excited that we are now a multi-racial family. We’re just so happy she’s here.”

Mariska brought home the baby girl last week and was spotted yesterday, April 6, leaving her Upper West Side home with a nanny and her new bundle of joy! Mariska and Peter already have a 4-year-old son, August, whois so excited to be a big brother! “He is over the moon. He calls her his baby because he says the whole thing was his idea,” she says. “He always talks about how he’s going to protect her. He’s going to be a great big brother.”

Law & Order: SVU has written the highest paid actress on TV out of this week’s scripts so she can enjoy spending time with her new addition. “She will not return until Monday,” a source tells Page Six. “This has been kept a huge secret on the set — somebody who was hired as a crew member was fired for tweeting about it. She went down to Texas late last week to get the baby.”
