A New York man came home from an errand to discover his 10-year-old daughter and elderly father-in-law shot by his own wife in an apparent murder-suicide! So sad!

Penelope Luddy, a 53-year-old from Perinton, New York, persuaded her husband, Michael, 57, to go visit a sick relative, but he came home only an hour later to a horrifying, tragic scene: His wife, daughter and father-in-law all shot in the basement of their home!

Both the little girl Alexandra and her grandfather, 79-year-old Harold Bertram, had been shot twice, and there were signs of a struggle, according to The Daily Mail. The elderly man managed to tell sheriff’s deputies what had happened moments before dying — he said Penelope was the culprit!

Monroe County Sheriff Patrick O’Flynn said Penelope has been ‘extremely distraught’ for the past few weeks and that the family “had been concerned.” But she did not leave a note, so there’s no way of knowing if she planned the murder-suicide or not.

This is such a sad, horrible story! What drives mothers to do such a terrible act like killing their own child?!?
