Oprah Winfrey sat down with multiplatinum artist, 17-time Grammy winner and global superstar Beyoncé for an interview on Oprah’s Next Chapter. Her revelations, on the Feb. 16 special episode, were both riveting and charming — there’s a reason she’s referred to as Queen B.

Beyonce Talks About Jay-Z

“I would not be the woman I am if I did not go home to that man. And it just gives me such a foundation.” He’s helped her “on so many levels,” she says.

Beyonce notes, ”We were friends first for a year and a half before we went on any dates. We were on the phone for a year and a half, and that foundation is so important for a relationship. Just to have someone who you just like is so important, and someone [who] is honest.”

Oprah recalls, “I remember the first time you were on the Oprah show, I told you, ‘Don’t go around telling people who you’re dating.’ I think you took that all the way. Don’t tell people who you’re dating, but you can tell people who you’re married to, OK?”

As a dad, Jay-Z is “a different human being,” Beyonce says.

Beyonce Talks About Blue Ivy & Her Miscarriage

Beyonce was asked why she revealed her miscarriage in the documentary.

“I felt like there are so many couples that go through that and it was a big part of my story. It was one of the hardest things I’ve been through. It was one of the reasons I did not reveal that I was pregnant the second time. You don’t know what’s going to happen. It was hard,” Beyonce said.

Thankfully, Beyonce’s daughter came after — she was the positive light that shined after a dark time.

“She is hilarious and she is fire. Lord am I going to have me a time. She’s very smart. She’s doing flashcards. She’s beautiful,” Beyonce said.

So when will we see another baby? “I definitely want another child. After this next tour, maybe I’ll have another baby.”

Beyonce Talks About Her Dad

“Talk some about letting your father go as your manager,” Oprah asks Beyonce.

Beyonce says, “It took a while for me and my dad to have an understanding. When I turned 18 and started handling my business more, he went into shock. And we had our issues. I’d say ‘No’ to something, and he’d book it anyway. Then I’d have to do it because I’d look bad [if I didn't]. We would fight sometimes, and it took about two years, to when I was 20, for him to realize, ‘Oh, she is an adult now, and if she doesn’t wanna do something, I can’t make her do it.’”

Beyonce’s mom, Tina Knowles, filed for divorce from Mathew Knowles on November 11, 2009, after several reports about Mathew’s affair with actress Alexsandra Wright had surfaced. Alexsandra has a son, Nixon, who was proven to be Mathew’s after a paternity test was issued.

Beyonce Loves Performing

No matter how many kids Beyonce ends up having, she’ll always hold performing dear to her heart. “I feel so fortunate to do my job. I love my job,” she gushed. “I love singing. I love the way it feels.”

Oprah’s interview served as a lead in to Beyonce’s documentary on HBO, Life Is But A Dream, airing at 9PM ET. Oprah calls the documentary “a game changer.”

Lance Armstrong sat down with Oprah Winfrey for his first interview since the truth behind his performance-enhancing drug scandal was revealed. On Oprah’s Next Chapter, the former professional cyclist — who was stripped of his seven titles and banned from the sport for life — opens up about the details of his drug use.

Lance Armstrong Reveals The Performance-Enhancing Drugs He Used

Oprah began the interview jumping right into asking Lance yes or no questions about which banned drugs he used during his professional cycling career, including for the seven times he won the Tour de France races.

Lance answered yes to using EPO, blood transfusions and “others,” including cortisone and/or testosterone.

He also said that it was commonplace in the sport, and even though he wouldn’t admit to “everybody doing it,” he implied that it was more common to use banned performance-enhancing drugs than uncommon.

“I didn’t invent the culture, but I didn’t try to stop it,” he said. “I didn’t have access to anything else that nobody else did.”

Lance also revealed that passing drug tests during the late ’90s and early 2000s was easy because they were tested on race days, in which the athletes were clean — and there wasn’t a test for EPO yet.

But he also insists that the last time he took performance-enhancing drugs was the last time he won first place — 2005. During his comeback in 2009 and 2010, he was not doped up.

Lance Calls Himself A Team Captain ‘Bully’

When Oprah asked Lance if he was a bully, he candidly revealed that he was — and as the captain of his US Postal and Discovery Channel cycling teams, he expected everyone to comply with his rules. And if riders didn’t agree with what he said, he viewed it as a betrayal — and he would get angry.

Of course, Oprah parlayed that mentality into asking if he forced his teammates to also take performance-enhancing drugs, which Lance denied — sort of. He said he never “verbally” forced anyone into taking drugs, but the pressure and expectation to win all of the time was there.

And as the team captain, Lance said he led by example — and his example was that being doped up makes you a fiercer and more winning competitor.

Lance Armstrong Doesn’t Believe He Was A Cheater

Despite the years of Lance vehemently denying that he ever took performance-enhancing drugs, even when teammates and insiders in his circle spoke out with evidence that he had, he said in the interview that he does not consider himself a cheater.

“I looked up the definition of cheater, and it implies that you are against a rival or foe,” Lance said. “I didn’t do that. I used it as a level playing field.”

Lance also told Oprah he didn’t understand that magnitude of his drug scandal, even though he was dating rockstar Sheryl Crow and was an international legendary athlete.

He said he was too focused on playing and winning the game than thinking about the outcome. But now, he says, he understands his many mistakes.

“I will spend the rest of my life trying to earn back trust,” he said. “For the rest of my life.”

The second part of Oprah’s interview with Lance airs on OWN on Friday, Jan. 18.

Lance Armstrong‘s first interview since his explosive doping and cheating scandal took place with Oprah on Jan. 14, three days before the 90-minute interview airs on OWN on Jan. 17 at 9pm EST. “Armstrong will address the alleged doping scandal, years of accusations of cheating, and charges of lying about the use of performance-enhancing drugs throughout his storied cycling career.” Adding, “Winfrey will speak with Armstrong at his home in Austin, Texas, in his only interview since the seven-time Tour de France winner was stripped of his titles and dropped from millions of dollars in endorsement deals after the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency released an extensive report accusing the renowned cyclist of doping throughout his career. Armstrong was given a lifetime ban on competing professionally. Late last year, Armstrong resigned as chairman of the foundation he created, Livestrong, which has raised hundreds of millions of dollars in the fight against cancer.”

Lance Armstrong Apologizes To The Livestrong Office

USA Today reports that Lance’s apology was “emotional for him and the staff.” About 100 employees were present for his heartfelt apology at the company headquarters in Austin, Texas.

Livestrong spokesperson, Katherine McLane, told the newspaper, it was a “very sincere and heartfelt apology to the staff.”

Lance Armstrong Steps Down From Livestrong

On October 17, 2012, Lance issued a statement when he resigned from Livestrong:

“This organization, its mission and its supporters are incredibly dear to my heart. Today therefore, to spare the foundation any negative effects as a result of controversy surrounding my cycling career, I will conclude my chairmanship. As my cancer treatment was drawing to an end, I created a foundation to serve people affected by cancer. It has been a great privilege to help grow it from a dream into an organization that today has served 2.5 million people and helped spur a cultural shift in how the world views cancer survivors.”

“Justin Bieber is a phonemenon,” Oprah proclaims on the Nov. 25 episode of Oprah’s Next Chapter, where she interviews the “Beauty And A Beat” singer.

“I haven’t done an interview like this since Michael Jackson in 1993,” Oprah tweeted on Nov. 19.

“There’s never been a star like you,” Oprah tells Justin in this new preview clip, tweeted by Justin on Nov. 23. “What do you mean by that,” Justin asks in an attempt to appear humble.

“Obviously, lots of people compare your audiences to Michael Jackson’s audiences — the screaming fans; and your audiences to the Beatles’ fans. I mean, when I saw the crowd last night, it reminded me of myself and Paul McCartney where girls are gaga. Those tremendous legends, who really changed the face of music for our culture, did not have a stardom like yours — like a rise of stardom like yours. You are a product, to a great to extent, of social media. Therefore, there’s never been a star like you,” Oprah says.

“Thank you,” Justin politely responds.

Because I feel like a lot of guys do that, especially in the business. They don’t want to be seen with the girl, so they’ll make them ride in separate cars. They’ll do that ‘get away’ stuff. [Selena and I] get away where … you know … getting away together,” Justin told Oprah in a preview of his Oprah’s Next Chapter interview.
