Kristen Stewart is such a brave actress! The On The Road actress opened up in a new interview about playing such a sexual character in the movie, and how Mary Lou’s sex scenes were “necessary.” Kristen’s latest mature role has since made her more comfortable with playing sexy characters, which will be good for her new fetishism film!

Kristen Stewart Talks About Her Sexual Role In ‘On The Road’

“Human beings are just animals,” said Kristen to The Chicago Sun Times. “It’s about fiercely living and squeezing every single drop out of life and not denying any aspects of it.”

Kristen spoke about how Mary Lou had non gratuitous sex, and boy there are a lot of sex scenes in that film!

“So much is clearly illustrated through her sexuality in her film,” Kristen said of her character Marylou. “But there was nothing about it that seemed gratuitous. It just seemed so necessary. There was simply no question that this would be a more sexual role.”

“I didn’t want to just play the wild, sexy, girl. Yes, she’s daring, but my favorite thing about taking this character on is that she’s self-aware and completely not self-conscious. She’s someone who can harness her fears in life although she’s not above emotions like jealousy.”

MTV got their hands on a sexy scene between Kristen and Garrett, which will surely get you excited. In the scene, following an amazing make out session, Garrett tries to convince Kristen that he can be with her and his wife Camille, who is played by Kirstin Dunst.

He says, “Now listen, darling, You know that I’m capable of everything at the same time, and I have unlimited energy. So when we get back to San Fransisco, let’s absolutely go on living together. I know just the place for you to live. I’ll be home every night and be at Camille’s in the morning. I’ve done it before, so she’ll never know.”

For the Feb. 2013 issue of W magazine, Twilight star Kristen Stewart gave a revealing interview where she revealed that she found filming the explicit nude scenes in On The Road easier than doing the energetic dance scene with co-star Garrett Hedlund. Huh?

Kristen Found Dancing Harder Than Nude Scenes

Kristen opened up to W, where she says the nude scenes — involving a threesome between her, Garrett and Sam Riley — were a walk in the park to film in comparison to the dancing scene.

“Everyone asks about the nude scenes in On The Road, but I also had to dance, and dancing is harder than being naked,” says Kristen. “My character, Marylou, is so exuberant, and I had five minutes to do something that showed she was sort of like the craziest motherf**ker around. In the book, it says, ‘Dean takes Marylou and they do a love dance and no one can take their eyes off them.’ It’s one sentence. And I was mad intimidated by it.”

“We did the dance four times to the song ‘Salt Peanut’,” continues Kristen. “By the end, I was as red as fire truck. I was holding onto Garrett because I was going to fall over. I almost passed out ever single time.”

Kristen has proved over the years that she is super shy and does not enjoy the limelight, so it is easy to see why she would not enjoy dancing. But the sex scenes? Well, she did say she was sexually assertive, just like Marylou.

Kristen Talks About Playing Marylou

Kristen says that in Jack Kerouac‘s novel, Marylou had the power to “jump off the page and smack you in the face.” To prepare for her role, Kristen met with LuAnne Henderson’s daughter — LuAnne being the “real life” Marylou — to chat and get a glimpse of how she truly was.

“You wouldn’t be attracted to a project if you had to fake it,” Kristen said to Vulture.com about the role. Though MaryLou is more sexually assertive than the other roles Kristen has played, she claims, “I don’t feel like I’m stepping outside of myself when I’m playing parts. Even if it’s really different from the apparent version of who I am, I’m always somewhere deep in there.”

The On The Road actress admits that she shares a lot of the sexual qualities her character MaryLou possesses. 

While Kristen, 22, admits that she can find a piece of her inside every one of her characters, including Bella Swan of Twilight, she goes on to tell Kyle Buchanan of Vulture.com that as surprising as it may seem, in her new free-spirit role in On the Road, she has more similarities with her character than not.

Kristen plays MaryLou, a profound literary character from the novel On The Road, who she says had the power to “jump off the page and smack you in the face.” To prepare for her role, Kristen met with LuAnne Henderson’s daughter (LuAnne being the “real life” MaryLou) to chat and get a glimpse of how she truly was from one of the closest people in her life. She watched endless amounts of interviews LuAnne did to make sure she portrayed the role as best as possible — she ended up not being a far stray away from the way she perceives herself.

Actors are good at faking a lot of things — it’s the nature of their profession. But could Kristen Stewart actually be taking it so far that she’s faking sex? Well, yes and no…

The actress spoke candidly with IndieWire to promote her new film On The Road, but it was her on-screen sex she was referring to, of course! When asked by the website what it was like to watch herself having sex as she watched the film, she replied, “Well, I wasn’t really having sex.”

“To be honest, I think if you were to isolate the scenes, it’s fairly ridiculous watching yourself fake have sex,” she continued. “But within the movie, watching the movie, I do get so caught up in this one. I’ve seen it three times, and that’s not typical for me.”

One would presume that the sex scenes were the most difficult things to accomplish in filming, but Kristen says that isn’t the case. She says her dancing scenes were more intimidating! “The dancing scene was so much more terrifying than any of the sex scenes were for me. I was so scared of it,” she said. “We crammed, I think, 60 extras into a tiny little room. Literally, I could feel the floor vibrating. It was so f–king cool. But I was terrified.”

During the interview, Kristen also opened up about the upcoming Snow White and the Huntsman sequel — as much as she could. “It’s gonna be f–kin’ amazing. No, I’m so excited about it, it’s crazy. The other day I said that there was a strong possibility that we’re going to make a sequel, and that’s very true, but everyone was like, ‘Whoa, stop talking about it.’ So no, I’m totally not allowed to talk about it.”

Kristen Stewart said bye bye to Bella and the Twilight franchise and dived into a very mature role, playing Marylou in the screen adaption of Jack Kerouac’s On The Road. While the star is scantily clad in a slew of sexy scenes, costume designer Danny Glicker did a fantastic job dressing her, (and the rest of the cast), in clothing that reflected the post-war era in America at that time — and he said K-Stew was fantastic to work with!

“It was a dream,” Danny told People magazine when asked about the female leads in the flick, (which also stars Amy Adams and Kirsten Dunst) . “They were amazing. I had so much fun with all of them.”

The designer quickly became fond of KStew when he realized how dedicated she was. “Kristen and I worked super closely together — she was so committed to the role,” he said. “And to see her intelligence and awareness of how clothing can inform every aspect of her understanding of a character … that was pure pleasure.”

While Kristen was easily recognizable, Amy was totally transformed in the film — and Danny said he’s “such a huge fan. I got to make her look quite awful, actually — she’s playing a woman who’s incredibly strung-out on drugs — but thankfully she’s a brilliant actress. We had a ball.”

All three women had very distinct looks — and that’s what made the project so fun. In contrast to KStew and Amy, Kirsten’s character “had an elegance about her,” he said. “It was fun to show that elegance through her clothing, and that then impacted everything, like her posture, and how she appeared against the other characters in the larger picture.”

During the Grey Goose screening of On The Road at SVA Theater on Dec. 13, Kristen Stewart told reporters there was one thing she couldn’t live without during the 60,000 miles traveled during shooting of the film! Hint: a shower! 

Kristen escaped the grimier moments of road tripping while shooting On The Road, which she loved to miss, as she told reporters, “I did enjoy showering at the end of the day,” adding, “If we were actually taking that trip, it would be the grimiest. I actually was glad to not go there.”

She didn’t end there, talking about the classic book that obviously is now a film saying, “It really kick-started something for me, It probably coincided with the age I was, where you look up and you actually choose your surroundings, you actually choose the people who you are going to call your friends. At that time, I thought, ‘I need to find people who are really gonna push me.’”

Pretty strong words from a strong woman, who has gone through a pretty bumpy year. Kristen has been on a break neck pace, promoting the film all over LA and NYC. Unfortunately, she didn’t obtain a Golden Globe nomination, but hopefully those that vote for The Academy Awards will see her performance in the film and reward her with a nomination. Only time will tell and our fingers are crossed!

Kristen Stewart may be the star of Twilight but that’s not enough for her. The actress feels her On The Road performance was snubbed because she wasn’t nominated for a Golden Globe, HollywoodLife.com is exclusively reporting.

“Kristen, like any actor or actress, wants their work respected and rewarded,” a source reveals to HollywoodLife.com.  “Not being honored with a nomination has just lit a fire under her to be work even harder in the future.”

Our source, who’s an insider in the movie industry who thinks Kristen a talented actress, goes on to add that “all the [nominations] haven’t been announced for other awards shows, so she may have missed the Golden Globes, but that doesn’t mean she has missed out on everything else.”

The Snow White and the Seven Huntsman star is currently working on the new movie Focus, about a veteran grifter who takes a young, attractive woman under his wing but things get complicated when they become romantically involved.

As HollywoodLife.com previously reported, Kristen had a very busy day in NYC on Dec. 13 promoting her upcoming flick, On The Road — but she still managed to squeeze in four outfit changes while she made the rounds!

Considering she feels most comfortable when she’s dressing down, it comes as no surprise that the star wore flat boots with three out of four of the looks — but for the premiere, it was all about standing out in a dressed up get-up!
