Nicole Richie At Met Ball — The Exact Inspiration Behind Her Hair

Luke Chamberlain created her amazingly dramatic hair and shared the process with HollywoodLife.com:

“We wanted to look to be an elevated, next level kind of punk — something that could hold up to her incredible, collaborative Topshop dress! I started off by blow drying her hair using only my hands and a texturizing spray. I wanted to build off of a very rough, unkempt texture.

Next I started with the color process. Taking small sections  I applied the hair paint using a tint brush and then combed the color through each section as I went along. Keeping in mind the shape I wanted, I would twist large sections and allow the color to dry.

Once the color was evenly distributed throughout her hair, I secured the style using white hair pins. I finished the look with a strong hold hairspray.”

Beau Nelson, who also worked with Kristen Stewart at the Met Ball, was the makeup artist who created Nicole’s look.

How To Style The Perfect High Bun — 5-Minute Style

First, allow hair to dry 75 percent of the way. Apply a thickening spray from root to end on very slightly damp hair. We like to use UNITE Tricky Lite.

Flip head over and blow dry completely. Using a paddle blush, pull hair into a high ponytail on the top of your head. Secure with a clear plastic band.

Twist the tail into a bun and secure with bobby pins or another clear elastic band.

To ensure a flawless, frizz-free and flyaway-free style, smooth hair on the top and bottom of the ponytail by spraying your brush (or the palm of your hand) with a strong hold hairspray and run it through hair. We love the UNITE Session Max Hairspray for a sexy style.

So many of our fave celebs skipped across the pond to take in the Givenchy Fall/Winter 2013 ready-to-wear collection during Paris Fashion Week on Mar. 3, making it one of the most star-studded front rows around! While Kim Kardashian continued to leave us quite confused with her pregnancy dressing, she matched her baby daddy Kanye West in their complimentary monochromatic looks. While Kim opted for all black everything, Kanye stood out next to her in a crisp white ensemble — clone couple alert! Although Kim’s maternity style hasn’t impressed us at all, the Kimye baby has already established it’s fashion cred, becoming a fixture in the front row — in fact, the Givenchy show marks baby’s first fashion show!

I’m confused as to why Kim would tuck a shirt into high-waisted pants when she’s pregnant — it really makes her growing baby bump look so awkward! It definitely seems like Kim’s having some trouble adjusting to her new, mommy-to-be figure — we just hope she figures out her maternity style soon! While Kim’s look wasn’t our fave, her pal Ciara looked sexy and chic in a Givenchy ensemble that featured a thigh-high slit and sheer panels.

There was a lot of black and white in the front row at the show, where the celebs in attendance played tribute to the fashion house. My two faves were definitely Amanda Seyfried and Nicole Richie. Nicole looked so stylish and chic in a black and white ruffled ensemble, while a pair of pointy pumps and a clutch completely her look. The star balanced out the voluminous ruffles with her fresh-faced look and she pulled it off flawlessly.

While Nicole wowed in a structured ensemble, Amanda, (who wore a red Givenchy gown to the Vanity Fair Oscars Party), opted for a one-sleeved dress by the brand with geometric detailing. Black ankle strap sandals, smoky eyes and glossy waves tied the front row look together. While the silhouette was more demure compared to some of Amanda’s award season looks, it was appropriate and chic — she’s such a style star!

Nicole shared some inspirations behind her debut fragrance, Nicole, in a special guest Pinterest board for InStyle Magazine. Included in the board are photos of notes included in the scent as well as inspiration from her family and style. “I grew up with a mom who loved beauty. I have many memories of watching her get ready as she layered her oils and lotions, and this fragrance is a scent that I associate with her,” says Nicole.

Nicole’s go to hairstyle for day or night: a braided updo–whether sleek, shiny and polished or loose and messy. One of Nicole’s other faves: a bohemian headpiece. Nicole’s worn many styles with loose waves, updos and sleek strands.

Nicole Richie looked like an old Hollywood screen siren, flaunting a really retro look on the red carpet for the 1st Annual Baby2Baby Gala at BookBindery in Culver City on Nov. 3. The designer opted for a pink embellished Lorena Sarbu gown from the designer’s Fall 2012 collection.

When Nicole turned around she showed off her bare back thanks to the dangerously deep plunge — she totally worked it! The blush pink embellished frock also had a gorgeous train. A ring and a clutch from her own House of Harlow 1960 collection, along with ’20s-inspired waves and a pink lip, added the perfect finishing touches to her ensemble.

Nicole knows exactly how to wow on a red carpet, and this sexy dress was no exception!
