Alex Rodriguez is always on the prowl! The New York Yankees star threw a baseball into the stands on Oct. 13 and asked Kyna Treacy for her phone number, now that’s pretty smooth if you ask me!

But the baseball star is getting a lot of heat for doing this because he was actually benched during this game. His performance hasn’t been too stellar and now people believe that he’s more interested in getting digits than home runs.

Alex, who was previously married to Cynthia Scurtis, and the two divorced in 2008. He also dated Kate Hudson and Cameron Diaz.

Minka Kelly may play an angel on TV, but it’s ex-boyfriend Derek Jeter who appears to have taken flight. Page Six is reporting that Derek hopped a plane to Miami, Fla., where Minka is shooting Charlie’s Angels, and took her out for breakfast Oct. 9 at the Morgans South Beach hotel. An eyewitness says the couple was “laughing and having a gun breakfast together.”

And it sounds like this wasn’t a one-time thing! According to friends, Derek and Minka might be reconciling.

“They met up to try and figure it out,” a source reveals. “They are trying to see what the future holds for them. … They may eventually get back together.”

Derek and Minka first got together in May 2008, and despite rumors that they were planning a wedding, the couple split in Aug. 2011.

The 10-year-old snubbed a gift from The New York Yankees superstar, a treasured baseball bat, because it was broken!

Daddy Brad Pitt laughs as he recounts his son Maddox‘s encounter with baseball great Derek Jeter, back in 2007 — and how the adopted tot refused to be starstruck when he came face to face with a genuine sports icon!

“I took my son, to a game, a Yankees game, with Spike Lee and his sons,” Brad tells USA Today. “He’s right next to the dugout, (Spike’s) got the great seats and he’s really involved with the Yankees. He talks to the players as they are in the batting circle, and it is customary for the heroes to bring out some of the cracked bats and give them to the kids.”

Kids usually go crazy for the souvenirs and the chance to meet a baseball hero…. but not Maddox.

Spike called Yankees captain Derek Jeter over to the group, so he could introduce him to Brad and Maddox… and that’s when it all went wrong.!

Brad — promoting new baseball movie Moneyball — explains, “(Derek) couldn’t have been more chill. He grabbed a cracked bat and handed it to my son.” But Maddox wasn’t the slightest bit impressed: “He goes, ‘It’s broken!’”

How hilarious is Maddox?

Then again… I’d be tough to impress if my parents were Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt!

Minka Kelly and Derek Jeter have split after what appeared to be a flawless romance. Derek, 37, and Minka, 31, began dating in 2008 and Page Six claimed the couple became secretly engaged in August 2010. Minka’s rep has confirmed the split. 

“The split was amicable,” a source tells Just Jared. “But they remain friends. They still really care for each other.”

The New York Post reported that Minka and Derek were set to tie the knot this upcoming November at the lavish Oheka Castle in Hungtington, LI, the same venue where Kevin Jonas said ‘I do’. But Minka played coy about her engagement in January’s GQ: “I promise you, I’m not getting married in the next month.”

Minka is currently in Miami shooting the ABC remake of Charlie’s Angels, which premieres Sept. 22.

The New York Yankees suffered a tragic loss July 27 when former pitcher Hideki Irabu was found dead in a suburban Los Angeles home. The New York Times reports, “Lt. Fred Corral of the Coroner’s Investigative Division of Los Angeles County said Thursday that Irabu had apparently hanged himself in a home in Rancho Palos Verdes. A friend discovered the body on Wednesday afternoon.” So sad.

Hideki had been deeply troubled of recent, assaulting a bartender in 2008 and being arrested on drunk driving charges two years later. His wife had recently left him along with their two children. It is still uncertain if it was in fact Hideki’s home he was found in.

Hideki was signed in 1997 to a $12.8 million contract, an amount unheard of at the time given he had never pitched in the major leagues. He would go on to later play for the Montreal Expos and Texas Rangers.

Neighbors report he had become despondent of recent following his split. What a tragic loss.

Cameron Diaz and Alex Rodriguez have finally been separated after what seems like months together as Cam headed to Las Vegas on March 30 to pick up the Female Star of the Year Award at Cinema-Con and A-Rod got ready for Opening Day! This is one busy couple!

The super-buff Cameron, 38, later partied at a special ceremony with pal Drew Barrymore after showing off her new flick, Bad Teacher, which she stars in alongside ex Justin Timberlake.
