Following the horrific events of the Boston Marathon on April 15,  Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and Boston Mayor Thomas Menino have organized Boston Strong: An Evening of Support and Celebration, which will be held on May 30 and will benefit The One Fund Boston. ‘Boston Strong’: NKOTB & More To Perform

Aerosmith, Jason Aldean, Boston, Jimmy Buffett, Dane Cook, Extreme, Godsmack, The J. Geils Band, Carole King, New Kids on the Block, James Taylor, and Steven Wright are all set to perform at Boston Strong.

“Like so many other proud Bostonians who have been extremely generous, we are honored to step up and do our part to help the victims and their families,” said NKOTB singer Donnie Wahlberg. “Hopefully this event will not only raise money, but spirits as well.”

“The One Fund event at the Garden this May 30th is destined to be a true Boston landmark. From the promoters to the sound & lights, to the performers and the Garden staff; everyone involved has responded from the heart in a spontaneous and simultaneous desire to be there, and to do what we can for the city we love. I am honored to be a part of it, and…I can’t wait” said James Taylor.

This is truly great news, and hopefully the money raised will help rehabilitate the dozens and dozens of people who lost limbs and were injured.

Tickets will go on sale on May 6, and the concert will be held at the TD Garden in Boston.

New Kids On The Block is back, but is there any? Jonathan Knight, who has admitted to suffering from anxiety, exited the stage midway through a song, leaving concertgoers confused. HollywoodLife.com attended the concert on April 3 and we have part of the concert on video.

NKOTB’s Jonathan Knight Walks Off Stage

Jonathan was spotted texting off to the side of the stage in the beginning, before leaving the stage completely mid-way through the performance. He actually tweeted to his fans “I’m sorry.” This made fans believe that he walked off the stage due to his widely talked about anxiety disorder.

Joey McIntyre joked to the crowd, saying, “One of the guys walks off stage the night of the opening. You think we’re f–king serious right now? He just really had to go to the bathroom!”

Jonathan has been very open about his history of anxiety and panic attacks, and we wish him the best. We also hope he’s able to join the rest of the band on tour!

NKOTB is expected to kick off its tour May 18 and will be hitting tons of cities! If you’re lucky, you can snag a ticket to any of their concerts in Connecticut, Florida, Ohio, Georgia, Texas, etc.!

New Kids On The Block looked like they were at the top of their game and Jonathan Knight didn’t show any signs of anxiety when they took the stage on Today. 

NKOTB Perform On The ‘Today’ Show

Singing “We Own Tonight” in matching slate suits, the New Kids nailed the performance and their choreography. And when the time came for Jonathan to sing his solo — a part that his bandmates had to sing for him last night — he performed gracefully, with brother Jordan Knight and bandmate Donnie Wahlberg putting their hands on his shoulders for support.

NKOTB seemed to be enjoying themselves on Today and they look ready to take the country by storm when “The Package Tour” begins with 98 Degrees and Boyz II Men on May 31.

Jonathan Knight Battles Anxiety Issues

The performance should be a huge relief for NKOTB fans, who went into near panic last night, Apr. 4, when Jonathan walked off stage during a New Kids concert at the iHeartRadio Theater in New York City. Jonathan has a history of struggling with anxiety and it appeared to really be bothering him during the show, as he stayed in the background for a couple songs before retreating to the side of the stage for the majority of the concert.

But he looked confident on Today! We’re totally amazed that Jonathan can fight through his anxiety problems, which can obviously be crippling at times. He’s working through it for the fans and we love him for it!

Jonathan Knight’s battle with severe anxiety kept him from performing for a portion of New Kids On The Block’s concert on Apr. 4, but Jonathan proved that he still cared by giving a heartfelt apology to all the fans on his Twitter.

Jonathan Knight Tweets After Walking Off Stage: ‘I’m Sorry’

“I’m sorry……” Jonathan tweeted from the side of the stage as the rest of his bandmates continued the concert. The singer’s anxiety was clearly affecting him last night, and his immediate apology affirms that he’d be out there for his fans if he just felt comfortable enough.

But it just didn’t feel right last night, as HollywoodLife.com told you EXCLUSIVELY. After hanging in the background for two songs, Jonathan courageously stepped up and joined his bandmates at the front of the stage for “Step By Step,” “Hangin’ Tough” and “The Right Stuff.” However, after pulling through for those three classics, Jonathan again retreated to the side of the stage and did not return.

Jonathan Knight’s Fans Support Him

Jonathan showed his fans love and they returned it wholeheartedly. As Jonathan struggled, the NKOTB fans chanted his name vigorously and made it clear that they supported him.

And so do we — we love Jonathan whether he’s on the stage or off it. And while it’s great to see all five original members together, we just want him to do whatever makes him happy and healthy.

Update! NKOTB tweeted their official statement on Friday, writing “Not 2 worry BHs, all is well w Jon! It was a crazy album release week & we are all on a plane to Napa & look fwd to a grt show this weekend! We love you guys and thank you for your undying support! See you on the road!”

When New Kids On The Block hit the stage at the iHeartRadio Theater, no one expected the group would go from five to four by the end of the night. The band, who just released its new album 10 this week, will be heading on tour May 28 — but will all five members be hitting the road?

When Donnie Wahlberg appeared on stage with rest of NKOTB, the group started off by singing a new song, while the tons of girls in the crowd went CRAZY. It was quite the sight to see, but something was definitely off.

Jonathan Knight Looked Uncomfortable Before Leaving Stage

I noticed from the front row that Jonathan Knight seemed out of it. While the men started their choreographed dances, Jonathan stood uncomfortably in the background — actually just standing and texting on his phone during the performance.

The crowd definitely noticed, although no one seemed to mind because the other four guys were extremely entertaining. Plus, Jonathan has a past of suffering from social anxiety, so if anything  fans in the audience were worried.

Jonathan attempted to rejoin his bandmates after two songs but after another three songs went by — including the classics “Step by Step,” ”Hangin’ Tough” and ”The Right Stuff” — his anxiety got the better of him and he forgot his lyrics.

The boys all gathered together to help him out, trying their best to make him feel comfortable, but apparently it didn’t work. Jonathan put his head down and walked off stage; and while the crowd thought he would be returning, unfortunately that didn’t happen.

NKOTB Defends Jonathan’s Exit

The boys turned to the crowd to make light of the situation, and Joey joked that it would make news the next day.

“One of the guys walks off stage the night of the opening,” Joey McIntyre said to the crowd. “You think we’re f–king serious right now? He just really had to go to the bathroom!”

Donnie also made a joke, saying that when he couldn’t make some press events this week due to his busy schedule, people weren’t chanting his name!

Jonathan has been open about his past history of suffering from anxiety and panic attacks, though he had sought help for them years ago.

“He’ll almost definitely drop off the tour,” one fan wondered after the show, while many came to his defense.

Others gathered outside to wait for the band to leave the venue. While Danny Wood, Jordan Knight and Joey all came out, waved to fans, and got in their van, Donnie came over to shake hands and even take one photo.

Jonathan was nowhere to be found. HollywoodLife.com has reached out for a comment.

We REALLY hope that Jonathan can go on — NKOTB is not the same without him! But of course we wish him well no matter what he decides — he needs to do what’s best for him.

Cue the screams! New Kids on the Block have finally released a new album! 10 hit stands on Tuesday, April 2. In a little over a month, the band will also be heading on their Package Tour with two other top boy bands – 98 Degrees and Boyz II Men!

New Kids On The Block Releases ’10′

NKOTB already shared their first single “Remix (I Like The)” from 10 back in January, but now you can hear the full album. 10 is their first album since 2008.

10 includes 12 new tracks by the band, including a few that they wrote themselves. “Miss You More” was co-written by Donnie Wahlberg, and both “Back To Life” and “Now Or Never” are co-written by Joey McIntyre.

Next Up: The Package Tour With 98 Degrees & Boyz II Men

As if women didn’t get enough when NKOTB went on tour with the The Backstreet Boys, the band is now heading on tour with two other major boy bands — 98 Degrees and Boyz II Men. Beginning on May 28, the three bands will be touring the country and making girls (and boys) dreams come true, one concert at a time.

When they made the original announcement on The View, they shared that 98 Degree’s Nick Lachey will be bringing his adorable baby boy along on tour! So cute!

HollywoodLife.com was in boy band heaven on Jan. 22, when we had the opportunity to attend a private concert in New York City with the stars of the Package Tour: New Kids On The Block, 98 Degrees and Boyz II Men. The 12 boy band members announced their plans to tour North America this summer on The View earlier that day, and fans went crazy on Twitter! At the concert, NKOTB member Donnie Walberg EXCLUSIVELY told HollywoodLife.com that “there will be surprise guests” on the tour. Hooray! Watch our exclusive videos here.

NKOTB, Boyz II Men & 98 Degrees Perform Secret Show

On Jan. 22, three of the 90′s biggest boy bands met for a secret show at NYC’s Irving Plaza, where they talked about the Package Tour. Drew Lachey of 98 Degrees said “I promise every night, every show, we are gonna bring 100 percent, and you guys are gonna have the time of your life.”

Meanwhile, Donnie spilled all the juicy details, as he exclusively told us that “Yes, there will be surprise guests, but if I told you who it was it wouldn’t be a surprise.” He would not confirm if one of those guests would be Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch, however. Perhaps brother Mark Walberg is too busy to take time out of his pants dropping schedule/successful film career!

Donnie also revealed that all 12 members “will sing together”, and Jordan Knight confirmed that fans will hear “new songs, songs they have never heard before” from NKOTB.
