Plus, Sophia Bush weighs in on Brooke’s dad’s highly-anticipated arrival! What kind of drama do you think he’ll bring to Tree Hill?
There are a few more familiar faces returning for One Tree Hill‘s ninth, and final, season — plus a few new ones! Warner Bros. has confirmed that, not only will Barbara Alyn Woods reprise her role as Nathan’s (James Lafferty) pill-popping cougar mom Deb for one episode, but Richard Burgi will also recur as Brooke’s (Sophia Bush) oft-discussed-but-never-seen father!
Are you excited to see Lucas back in Tree Hill, sans Peyton? I’m clearly not, hence my second-ever emoticon in a headline.
One Tree Hill fans finally got their wish granted! Well, half of their wish, anyway. Our sister site, TVLine, revealed today that Chad Michael Murray will reprise his role as Lucas Eugene Scott on the show’s ninth, and final, season. But there’s a catch; he’ll be making the trek alone! Hilarie Burton was reportedly not asked to join him. Join me as I throw a friggin’ fit!
This is purely speculation on my part, but hey, stranger things have happened in Tree Hill! (Crazy nanny in a cornfield, anyone?)
Though One Tree Hill‘s ninth, and final, season will feature the return of some old favorites — Dan Scott, Chris Keller, etc. — it was officially announced Aug. 4 at the Critics Television Association’s summer tour that Nathan (James Lafferty) will only be around for “multiple” episodes. How do YOU think they’ll explain his absence? Let the wild speculation begins!
Was I watching One Tree Hill tonight… or Lost? The similarities are uncanny.
While I disagree with the show’s decision to extend Clay’s (Robert Buckley) adventures in Purgatory for yet another week, I will applaud the Sept. 21 episode of The CW’s One Tree Hill for trying something weird. Sure, we’ve seen another version of this storyline before — remember when Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) had a post-heartattack visit to the afterlife? — but I was still legitimately sucked into it. When Clay watched himself dying, I felt like I was watching myself dying. Spooky stuff.
The first trailer for season eight is here! But there’s still no sign of gunshot victims Clay & Quinn.
Yes, One Tree Hill is still on the air — and yes, it is still amazing. The CW drama returns Sept. 14, and we finally have our first look at the upcoming eighth season! In this 10-second teaser, we see Brooke (Sophia Bush) on her way to jail, pregnant Haley (Bethany Joy Galeotti) acting a little manic, and Chase (Stephen Colletti) getting confronted by Mia (Kate Voegele) over whether or not he slept with Alex (Jana Kramer.) Never a dull moment with those wacky hill folk.

Though the trailer for this Monday’s finale screams “last episode,” rumors are buzzing that One Tree Hill will get an eighth season!
It’s true, BFFs! There’s still hope that we’ll get to see more of Sophia Bush, Robert Buckley and the rest of the gang from Tree Hill this fall! According to Entertainment Weekly‘s Michael Ausiello, “The CW is said to be strongly considering renewing both One Tree Hill and Life Unexpected for 12 episodes apiece.” Half a season is better than no season at all, and it would give the show an opportunity to wrap up its story lines and give fans the ending they deserve.
