Natalie Wood‘s death has been the subject of much speculation over the past 30 years but a new autopsy report might shed further light as to how the actress died.

Natalie’s New Autopsy Report Reveals Evidence That She Sustained Bruises Before Her Death

Natalie’s body was found floating in the waters near Catalina Island, a vacation spot near Los Angeles, around 8am on Nov. 29, 1981. Natalie’s death at the time was ruled an accident and that she fell overboard her 60-foot yacht, The Splendour, while her husband Robert Wagner and good friend and Brainstorm co-star Christopher Walken were asleep.

The new autopsy report reveals that Natalie had bruises on her face, knees, and ankles before she went into the water. The bruises have been labeled “non-accidental” by the medical examiners office. But the new report does not call Natalie’s death a homicide.

“Since there are unanswered questions and limited additional evidence available for evaluation,” Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Lakshmanan Sathyavagiswaran wrote in the report. “It is opined by this Medical Examiner that the manner of death should be left as undetermined,’

What Many Believe Happened On The Night Of Natalie’s Death

Robert and Natalie were married twice and they had a highly tumultuous relationship. Natalie was filming a movie at the time with Christopher  called Brainstorm, and there were rumors that they were having an affair.

When the three boarded The Splendour for a getaway after Thanksgiving, a fight reportedly broke out between Robert and Christopher on the night of Nov. 29. This has been confirmed countless times by the yacht’s captain, Dennis Davern. But unlike Robert’s claim that Natalie went to bed after the fight and then must have fallen overboard because she had been drinking, some don’t believe this story.

The captain claims to have heard fighting coming from Natalie and Robert’s room in the late hours of the night.

Natalie had admitted to having a fear of “dark water,” and many don’t believe she accidentally fell overboard. Robert also claims Natalie couldn’t swim.

Robert admits to fighting with Natalie but that Natalie wasn’t in her room when he came to bed. When Natalie’s body was found, she was wearing a down coat, and socks. The LA County coroner’s office ruled Natalie’s death an accident by drowning and hypothermia.

Robert wrote a book called Pieces of My Heart – A Life, in which he talks about his marriages and life with Natalie. In 2008 he told Good Morning America that Natalie’s death was “the most traumatic experience of my life.”

Hopefully this new report can shed more information as to how Natalie tragically died.

How ironic! Just days after police re-opened the case of Natalie Wood’s mysterious death, her husband Robert appears on ‘NCIS’ and gets taken away by cops.

Robert Wagner doesn’t have the best timing!

Robert returns to NCIS this week — on Nov. 22 — and gets arrested for murder.

In a huge coincidence, the investigation into his then-wife Natalie Wood‘s death has just been re-opened. Natalie, Robert and Christopher Walken were on Robert’s yacht when Natalie disappeared in 1981. At the time, it was ruled an accident.

Police say that currently Robert is not a suspect.

6. A Charlie Brown Christmas (Not rated): Maybe the most endearing of all Peanuts’ specials finds Charlie Brown nurturing the thinnest, scraggliest Christmas tree ever. At first the gang makes fun of him for choosing such an ugly tree for the holiday but a timely assist from Linus makes the true message of the season come shining through. Everyone realizes in the end that a little affection can make all the difference in the world… even to a tree.

5. Home Alone (Rated PG): World? Meet Macauley Culkin. Macauley Culkin? Meet the world.

4. A Christmas Story (Rated PG): “Be careful with that thing, Ralphie! You’ll shoot your eye out!” We still love watching this movie, especially when Ralphie does, indeed, hurt himself firing that much-sought-after BB gun.

3. Miracle on 34th Street (Rated G): See above about the repeat factor, but even though it’s a wee bit dark — putting Kris Kringle on trial to make sure he’s actually sane — but it ends well, and it’s a lot of fun, and it’s got a very young Natalie Wood. Did we mention how much fun it is?

2. Elf (Rated PG): The movie that made Will Ferrell a movie star, it’s the not only the best Christmas movie to come out in the 21st century, it’s also very easily the funniest.

1. It’s a Wonderful Life (Rated G): We watch it every Christmas Eve, without fail. And every year, without fail, we get teary at the end. Never gets old. Ever.
