Shay Mitchell, 25, and Vanessa Hudgens, 24, attended the JCPenney and Nanette Lepore launch event for L’Amour Nanette Lepore at Good Units in NYC, where the Pretty Little Liars star stole the spotlight in her bright denim.

Even though it’s still winter you can’t go wrong with a pop of color — and the denim is perfect if you’re transitioning into spring! The affordable collection is youthful and fun, which comes as no surprise considering it was designed by Nanette’s 14-year-old daughter, Violet.

Adding a pop of color to each outfit seems to be a trend that’s catching on quickly. Shay’s neon yellow jeggings accentuate her long legs and add a perfect contrast to her sheer black top. If you are going to be as bold as to wear yellow bottoms, you might as well go all the way! Her black pumps are just what she needed to make this outfit chic from head to toe — and you can get the jeans right HERE for $17.

Shay always seems to catch our attention, both on and off the red carpet — and we love that this stylish star appreciates an affordable find!

We went backstage before the show, where the designer told us all about the colorful collection — and told us what we all should have in our closets come spring!

Nanette Lepore always has a fun and feminine collection, so I wasn’t surprised to hear the designer say she’s excited that bows are back — and feminine silhouettes. We chatted with her about the slew of neon combinations in her collection — and how she decided to spruce up the standard suit! I was a bit surprised, however, when she told us which celeb she’s dying to see in her clothes — because she said Lady Gaga! Come backstage with us & see what else she had to say!

Celebrities dressed like dolls — including Jessica Szohr, Olivia Palermo, and Selita Ebanks — were all spotted Sept. 15 at Marchesa. Note to all fashionistas out there: Not everyone can rock this look. That means you, Kelly Osbourne. We love Marchesa and their intricate elegant shimmery designs, but we did NOT love the “tulle/ruffle/bow” ensemble chosen for Kelly. Also attending Marchesa was (OMG!) Rachel Zoe with STRAIGHT HAIR?! We almost didn’t recognize her with that ‘do, but she did look lovely in her long silk black dress, Rachel Zoe necklace and “bigger than her” green Hermes bag.

Natasha Bedingfield did her best Flashdance impression with her off-the-shoulder casual gray T and leather legging rocker combo at Nanette Lepore.  She was more lady-like when sitting front row at Marchesa in her black chiffon jewel-belted dress.

Jamie-Lynn Sigler resembled a schoolgirl with her plaid skirt, crisp black jacket combo backstage at Nanette Lepore. We love Lepore’s classic style, but these two pieces together made Jamie look 12 years old. Maybe she was going for the “young Lolita” look, but it looked more like “young librarian.” Not so cute.

Kelly Bensimon wore a pretty black lace top, er…dress to Anna Sui. (Insert fellow Real Housewives castmates’ snarky comments here.)  Granted, we know she is like 6 feet tall, but that mini was TOO mini!

Melania Trump and Serena Williams looked – wait for it – BEAUTIFUL at Michael Kors! It seems Front Row Fashionistas checked themselves out in the mirror before they arrived here. Phew!

Also spotted in the front row was Kanye West, and he re-purposed his bright red (UGH) jacket from his VMAs performance. It only deserved one outing this week, Kanye! Please make it go away now. He sat next to Kelly Osbourne – who looked like a jeweled doll this time – at Jeremy Scott’s show. Oh how cute.

It was a British dream at Soho House on Sept. 14 as the swank Mulberry presentation brought out the design house’s muse Alexa Chung, Kelly Osbourne, Gemma Arterton, and special performer and guest Florence Welch from Florence + the Machine! Not to be outdone, super stylish Americans were also on hand in the form of Alexis Bledel and Dree Hemingway as well as Australian Twi-throb Xavier Samuel with girlfriend Shermine Shahrivar.

Uptown at Pier 92, the Diesel Black Gold show drew Xavier’s Twilight costar Julia Jones, Paz de la Huerta, and Fashion Week’s most ubiquitous guest, Misshapes DJ Leigh Lezark. Back at the tents, Claire Danes and Sarah Jessica Parker both made their second and third appearances respectively of the season at pal Narcisco Rodriguez‘s show!

The bright and early 10 am call time at Michael Kors on Sept. 15 didn’t deter the likes of Rashida Jones, Serena Williams, and New York’s own Donald Trump with wife Melania from catching the designer’s colorful spring collection. The somewhat later call time for Nanette Lepore however managed to bring out Broadway babe Kristin Chenoweth and Jamie-Lynn Sigler.

How lucky is Abigail Breslin? At 13 years old, I was far from sitting in the front row during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week on Feb. 17, let alone serve as inspiration to a designer as talented as Nanette Lepore! “Abigail Breslin has been my little muse, she’s so adorable” the designer gushed backstage after her show. “I love dressing her cause she’s so easy, great and sweet.” When we asked Nanette who she would love to see her fabulous collection on she responded with Kate Hudson or Marion Cotillard! “I would love to see one of the siren actresses’ wearing these velvet gowns,” she said. We can’t wait to see what starlets slip into pieces from her vibrant collection!
