Kate Hudson Spills Her Beauty Secrets

In a December 2012 interview with The Huffington Post, Kate spilled, “I’ve never been a crazy makeup, spend-two-hours-in-front-of-the-mirror kind of girl.”

On her iconic mom Goldie Hawn, Kate says: “I just remember seeing her put on makeup fast, and without a mirror, in a car. My mom’s no-fuss. Even with facials, I never remembered her as someone who was too focused on it. But she loves her products — I grew up with my mom’s makeup. She loves her lip gloss. She loves her lip gloss. It’s like, can’t live without it.”

On her amazing blonde locks, Kate says it didn’t always come so easy to her!

“When I was about 16, I had really long, long hair. They used to call me a lion in high school, because I didn’t realize my hair was curly. I’d always brush my hair, and I’d have this strangely poufy hair. It wasn’t frizzy, just poufy, but it looked like a lion’s mane,” Kate says.

“It wasn’t very attractive. At the time, Meg Ryan‘s little hairdo was popular, so I decided to chop all my hair off. I did it, and I came out of the salon — it was like Supercuts or something like that. They blew it out, and I was so happy. I felt like I had all this weight lifted off of me. Then the next day I washed my hair, and I realized I had curly hair. I had a helmet. I looked like Annie. It was horrible. I could not blow out my own hair and it would get really puffy. I could never get it super straight. Now I think we have better tools to straighten it, but at the time, it was a nightmare.”

According to Muse’s website, Matt Bellamy composed the song “with the Olympics in mind. It’s about total conviction and pure determination to win.”

The anthem will be played before medal ceremonies, when athletes enter the stadium, and serve as the theme for international television coverage of the games.

The games, which take place July 27-August 12, will feature four other songs composed specifically for the Olympics. The other artists who will write songs are Elton John, Pnau, Delphic, Chemical Brothers, and Dizzie Rascal, whose songs will be released throughout the next few weeks leading up to the games.

Spanning three days in the country’s largest city park, Outside Lands is nothing like Coachella, its sunny Southern California counterpart. We arrived in SF on Friday afternoon and made the trek through the wind and the fog to the park in time to catch our first act of the day, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah. Launched to indie popularity with their hit “The Skin of Our Yellow Country Teeth,” CYHSY performed for a large crowd, whose excitement to be at the festival was infectious.

After a low-key set from beach-pop sensation, Los Angeles’ own Best Coast, we headed to see Friday’s headliners, the legendary Shins. Launched to superstardom with Zach Braff’s recommendation and a coveted spot on the Garden State soundtrack, the Shins had been on a four-year hiatus before performing at Outside Lands. Classics like “New Slang,” “Kissing the Lipless,” and “Caring Is Creepy” had the crowd singing along, swelling with both nostalgia and a reminder of why the indie band from Seattle became a household name in the first place.

Of course HollywoodLife.com is always on the lookout for celebrities, and there weren’t many to be found at this festival (or maybe they weren’t parading around a la Coachella). However, if there were celebs enjoying the Bay’s biggest music event, they definitely caught headliners Muse on Saturday. Considered by thousands to be ‘the best live band in the world,’ Muse didn’t disappoint, closing out Saturday night on the main stage. Matt Bellamy, Kate Hudson’s fiance, wowed an incredibly large audience with his stage presence, while the rest of the band tore through their epic tracks, with a stage set-up that would even make Bono jealous. People who looked like supermodels strutted up and down the VIP walkway splitting the main crowd; we even thought we saw Kate Hudson!

After two days of braving the cold and crowds, we were getting tired come Sunday. However, with arguably the best acts of the entire weekend, we gathered our strength and were greeted with uncharacteristically beautiful weather and an upbeat set from Grouplove, indie darlings who were launched onto the scene with their song ‘Colours.’ After a water and sunscreen break, we headed to see DJs Switch and Diplo‘s collaborative effort, Major Lazer. With worldwide hits like ‘Pon De Floor,’ we were expecting a lot and were definitely disappointed. The drunk and sweaty crowd danced to the tunes spun by the DJs, but there was little originality to the selection.

After relaxing on the hillside listening to the horns of Beirut, we prepared ourselves for the final act, headliner Deadmau5. The Canadian DJ sensation has grown bigger and bigger in the past year, acting as Resident DJ for the MTV VMAs and NFL Monday Night Football, and shows no sign of stopping. Beginning his set a half hour before Schedule, festival-goers were treated to two hours of his best songs, seamlessly interwoven with his astouding light set-up. Songs like ‘Ghosts N Stuff,’ ‘Raise Your Weapon,’ and ‘Strobe,’ had the crowd alternating between dancing and staring, entranced by the music, lights and beauty of the sun setting over the park.

While it isn’t as glamorous as Coachella, or as popular as Lollapalooza, Outside Lands is a special event, and a musical fixture for the Bay Area. We’re exhausted from hitting up the festivals this summer, HollywoodLifers, but we already know that San Francisco and Outside Lands is the place to be next August, no matter what kind of music you like!

Their little one kicks in the womb in response to the sound — how incredible!

Kate Hudson and Matt Bellamy will surely have a musically-inclined baby, since he is the lead singer of Muse, one of the biggest bands in the world. But the baby may have an extra leg-up, since the proud parents are singing and playing music to the baby in the womb!

Kate and Matt, both 32, spend time together serenading their little one, Matt tells the Daily Mail.

“I’m already getting the vibraphone out and the Wurlitzer — these nice sort of twinkling high nice sort of mellow sounds that makes the baby kick and stuff,” he says. “I’ve got a feeling I’ll incorporate those sounds into the next album a little bit.”

Not only is this a great way for the family to bond, but music is proven to provide positive stimulation for your baby as well as aid with their fundamental language skills.

Congratulations Kate, you’re biggest wish is coming true.

Kate Hudson must be one super excited mommy-to-be right now. “Kate really wanted another baby,” a source close to the 31-year-old actress tells People magazine. News broke earlier this week (Jan. 12) that Kate was 14 weeks pregnant with the 32-year-old lead singer of Muse, Matthew Bellamy’s baby.

Kate and Matt have only been dating for about nine months, but it seems like they’re perfect for each other. “He loves Kate’s carefree attitude,” another source says, “and [he] has a lot of fun with her.”

This will be baby number two for Kate. She has a son named Ryder Robinson, 7, from her previous marriage to The Black Crowes frontman, Chris Robinson, 44. We certainly wish her and Matt the best of luck as they anxiously await the arrival of their bundle of joy.

Is it smart to get pregnant with a partner you’ve been dating for less than a year like Kate has?

Kate Hudson is reportedly over the moon that she’s pregnant with baby number two — as well she should be. Regardless of her happiness, is her decision to have a child with a man she’s been dating for less than a year, a man she has no current plans to marry, wise?

The 31-year-old actress has been dating Muse singer Matt Bellamy for nine months, and it sounds like her pregnancy came as a complete surprise. “It was not planned, but they are excited and embracing it,” a source told Us Weekly.

As excited as the happy couple may be right now, I foresee problems down the line. For starters, one of the problems that Kate had with her first baby daddy, ex-husband Chris Robinson, is that their hectic schedules kept them apart. Like Chris, the lead singer for the rock band The Black Crowes, Matt is a musician, and usually on the road. Not the best daddy material one could choose.

Secondly, who knows if Matt was READY to be a dad? He’s 32, loves gigging and it sounds like he liked the uncomplicated nature of his relationship with Kate. “Things are going great at the moment,” he has said. “I am very happy. We just have fun together. Kate is great.” Fun and ready for a serious commitment are two very different things, as Matt is probably discovering right about now!

Still, the situation exists and the couple are making the best of it, which is a great thing. Should Kate have been trying for a baby with a man she’s not even sure will last in the long run? Probably not — but at least she has a great attitude about the curveball life has thrown her!

A source confirm Kate Hudson is 14 weeks pregnant with the lead singer of Muse, Matt Bellamy‘s baby! “It was not planned, but they are excited and embracing it,” the source tells the Us Weekly. Kate has been hearing the tick-tock of her biological clock for some time now. “Kate is really happy. She was always excited to have kids again at some point,” an insider confirms to People.

The 31-year-old actress, who has been dating Matt, 32, for nine months, may not have been trying to get pregnant, but she’s super excited to give her son Ryder, 7, another sibling! Her ex and Ryder’s dad, Chris Robinson, welcomed a baby girl, Cheyenne, in December 2009 with his wife Allison Bridges. “He’ll be excited because it’s something new,” a source tells Us. “He already loves his dad’s daughter.”

Kate could care less whether she has a boy or a girl. “She is happy for Ryder to have a bother or sister,” explains the source. But she does hope that the newest member of the family follows in his or her big brother’s footsteps. “He’s such a genius!” the insider says about the second-grader, who is already multilingual!

And daddy-to-be Matt is madly in love with his California girl girlfriend. “Things are going great at the moment,” he says. “I am very happy. We just have fun together. Kate is great.”

And that has many people close to the 31-year-old star, who is currently dating Muse rocker Matt Bellamy, convinced that she’s got a baby on board! “Kate and Matt want to start a family together — and it looks like their dream is turning into a reality!” says a friend.

How exciting! Kate’s already got one super son, Ryder, 6, with her ex-husband Black Crowes‘ lead singer Chris Robinson. And now that she’s found love with another musician, it’s only natural that she has got babies on the brain — and if the National Enquirer is correct, Kate’s already expecting!

“Kate looks like she’s in her first trimester of a pregnancy,” says a source close to the bubbly blond star, who also points out that she has been avoiding alcohol and has already gained about 10 pounds. “Kate has that pregnant mom glow. She and Matt are thrilled to be parents together!”

Kate’s given up on marriage but she wants more kids

Kate and Matt met in April at the Coachella Valley Music Festival, where he was performing with his band Muse. They spent the summer traveling the world together and even Kate’s mom Goldie Hawn approves of the new man in her life. “Kate’s whole family adores Matt, and they’ve given him a big thumbs up. Goldie even introduces Matt as her ‘future son-in-law,” reveals the insider.
