After going through a heartbreaking divorce, Liv is back on her feet and ready to head back to the big screen.

Liv Tyler recently opened up about her “very painful” divorce from Royston Langdon and her new beginning with their 6-year-old son, Milo. “I took a little time off before Super and The Ledge,” Liv, 33, tells Bust magazine. “I just had a rough couple of years, having Milo and then getting divorced and trying to rebuild my life again.?” Can you relate to Liv’s situation?

“Milo and I have been in such transition,” she adds. “I’ve been rebuilding and trying to be patient. And I’ve just put all of my focus on that, because I can’t go to work and be happy unless he’s happy and feels secure…” Liv and Royston were married for five years before splitting in 2008, leaving Liv to raise Milo as a single mother.

“It’s been interesting, the way things have unfolded,” Liv explains of single motherhood. “That loss of the dream – because you spend your whole childhood planning how you’re going to do things – it’s actually very painful, but quite liberating at the same time.”

Lucky Liv Tyler! The stunning actress has learned that it’s great to have a child with a vivid imagination and a head for science, because it makes things that much easier when buying presents! Liv was at the opening of the new flagship Christian Dior store on 57th street in New York city when she talked about her boy Milo, who turns six this month.

“My son is obsessed with the most basic things,” Liv, 33, who divorced Milo’s dad Royston Langdon in 2008, told People.com. “Like a plastic bottle you can make experiments with. Or I’m unpacking and I bring out a box and it’s like 10 hours of heaven. He turns it into all sorts of amazing things. He’s like a little scientist. He’s very smart.”

Liv also admitted that this time of year, the holidays, makes her as giddy as it makes her son. “I am so silly. I wake up at six in the morning on Christmas morning to rush to my stocking, still, as if I were five.”

“In everything I do in life, I need to feel like I am accomplishing something every day, be it as a mother, a wife, a woman or actress,” says Liv. “After having a child, that physical feeling of going from being a girl into a woman is really something. When you carry a child and give birth you really feel like a woman for the first time in your life. It is phenomenal. So many great things have happened to me in my life and career that I was happy about, but I never had this sense of accomplishment until I had Milo.”

As most parents will agree, you have to pick and choose your battles when it comes to your kids. And it seems that Liv Tyler is letting her 5-year-old son, Milo, wear whatever he wants. Hey HollyMoms, do you let your little ones dress themselves?

The blond cutie definitely inherited his grandfather Aerosmith rocker Steven Tyler’s lips and it looks like he also shares his eccentric fashion sense. The striped shorts over sweatpants and neon green shoelaces certainly make Milo stand out during the walk to his New York City school yesterday (Sept. 16).

Despite the eye-catching outfit, and constant presence of paparazzi, Liv, 33, is working hard to give Milo a different upbringing than the rock ‘n’ roll rollercoaster ride that was her adolescence — her mom Bebe Buell is a former Playboy centerfold and groupie who let Liv believe that her father was actually singer Todd Rundgren. “I live quietly in New York out of the public eye,” says Liv. “I love my parents, but I never wanted my son, Milo, to be brought up in the same way as me.”

Halloween might be almost two months away, but that’s not stopping Milo Langdon, 6, from getting his superhero on. Hanging out on Labor Day weekend in New York with mom Liv Tyler, 33, Milo channeled his inner Bruce Wayne by donning the familiar gray and black of Gotham City’s most famous defender, Batman (minus the secret identity-protecting mask, of course).It made us think of another young celebrity kid who has a thing for the superheroes, as Kingston Rossdale, the 4-year-old son of Gavin Rossdale, 44, and Gwen Stefani, 40, has been known to flash the blue and red of the most famous hero of all: Superman! When your child dresses up as a superhero, who’s their favorite? Are they like Milo and go with the Caped Crusader? Do they follow in Kingston’s footsteps and channel the Man of Steel?
