Former NFL-er Michael Strahan was announced as Kelly Ripa‘s new Live! With Kelly co-host on Sept. 4, ending a very long search for Regis Philbin‘s replacement. And don’t forget – HollywoodLife.com told you first!

“We’re like that insane couple from ‘The Bachelor,’” Kelly said as she welcomed Michael on stage after they shared a kiss.

“Once you walk in, you never walk out. It’s a life changing experience. It’s changed my life. To have you here, you’re such a great addition to our show. I can’t tell you how much I missed you,” Kelly added.

“All bets are on Michael Strahan,” a source told us back in May. “He’s funny, does well on camera and gets along really fabulously with Kelly. Michael is the top name that is seriously being thrown around right now.”

Michael was one of many potential co-hosts considered for the plum seat, including Neil Patrick Harris, Josh Groban, Seth Meyers and Kelly’s husband Mark Consuelos.

It’s been the question on everyone — and every house cat’s — mind: “Who will take over as Kelly Ripa‘s Live! co-host?” That answer will likely be Seth Meyers, according to a new report from ShowBiz411, which alleges that Seth is the frontrunner for the position. He’s believed to be leagues ahead of the two other candidates, Michael Strahan and Josh Groban, and will be given the chance to prove himself with a five-day stint beginning July 9.

According to the report, Seth would likely remain on SNL as the host of “Weekend Update,” but would likely need to step down as head writer of the long-running sketch comedy.
