The world let out a collective “awww” when Kim Kardashian debuted her precious little white Persian kitten in mid-September. The reality starlet, who named the kitty Mercy after boyfriend Kanye West‘s song, has announced that poor Mercy died on Dec. 7, at just four months old.

In a blog post entitled “Rest In Peace, Little Mercy,” Kim writes, “It is with deep sadness that I have to tell you all that my kitten, Mercy, has passed away. My heart is completely broken.” She goes on to explain that, after realizing she suffered from a surprise cat allergy, she had given Mercy to sister Khloe‘s assistant Sydney, who had recently lost a cat and could offer Mercy a happy home.

After just a few weeks, Kim writes, Mercy got really sick and was rushed to the vet, where it was discovered that the kitten suffered from “a stomach problem that we weren’t aware of.” Mercy passed away the next day.

Kim concluded her eulogy by writing, “Mercy was a gentle and loving kitten and we are all going to miss her so much. Thanks to Sydney for making Mercy’s short life one filled with love. RIP Mercy Xo.”

Kim Kardashian loves baby Mason Disick. The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star posted a pic on Twitter with a very sweet message.

“He loves her!” Kim tweeted in reference to Mason holding her new kitten Mercy. We told you that Kim got the cat and named it after her boyfriend Kanye West‘s hit song off his G.O.O.D. Music album, Cruel Summer. Kim is such a great Auntie!

Remember when we showed you that video of Michelle Trachtenberg throwing down a rhyme on the way home from the set of Mercy Feb. 14? Her hottie co-star James Van Der Beek was so into her rap techniques that he even posted on his Twitter page,  “Trachtenberg in rare form on the ride home from set. Enjoy!” So when we ran into the 24-year-old actress at the NYC premiere of Cop Out Feb. 22, we wanted to see if she had plans to pursue a career in hip-hop.

“I think I’m going to have a huge rap career,” she joked. “Not going to lie.”

We think it would be awesome if Michelle professionally started to spit some rhymes. What do you think?

Madonna, 51, and boyfriend Jesus Luz, 23, are definitely back on, as the two were spotted celebrating Valentine’s Day at the Rio Carnival in Rio De Janeiro. While they sipped on bubbly and took in all the outrageous sites, Jesus doted on Madonna’s daughters, 14-year-old Lourdes and newly adopted Mercy. Whatever issues led to Madonna and Jesus’ temporary split seem to be completely resolved.

And they weren’t the only ones enjoying the world’s largest carnival. Celebs like Paris Hilton and Gerard Butler were also spotted taking in the sights in Rio De Janeiro. Not a bad way to spend Valentine’s Day!

Michelle Trachtenberg, 24, you’re all grown up! We remember when you were running around with your notebook playing Harriet Welch in 1996′s Harriet the Spy, and now you’re the sultry, evil-ish Georgina Sparks on CW’s Gossip Girl — and Chloe Payne on NBC’s Mercy. We can’t believe we’ve been watching you evolve for all of these years! The native New Yorker sat down with Complex magazine in their February/March issue that hits stands Feb. 8 to talk about her new film A Couple of Dicks, older men, and her real life ‘mean girls’ experience.

• On losing her virginity: “Would you like to know what kind of condom I used? [Laughs.] Seth Green says I’ve been the same person since he met me at 14. I guess I’ve just always had sex on the brain. A lot of people thought that I was having sex before I actually was, because of the way I held myself. I didn’t lose my virginity until I was 18. It wasn’t a crazy, massive thing.”

• She likes older men! “I feel like there’s a phase guys go through in their early twenties when they’re supposed to hook up with a lot of chicks and break a lot of hearts. That’s great, I’d just like to catch you after that. I’m not looking to settle down and make babies, I’m just not looking for the guy who’s texting seven different girls like, “Let’s screw here. Let’s hook up later.” I’ve always had at least a six- or seven-year age difference with boyfriends. And I guess I still have resentment towards all the boys in high school.”

• Girls being mean to her growing up: “Kids — boys and girls both — were very cruel to me, all throughout school, and particularly in high school, when girls were getting boobies and I didn’t have any. I was a really late bloomer. I was tortured, made fun of. People were envious of me, but they took it to a nasty place, like, ‘Let’s mess her shit up,’ as opposed to, ‘Yay! So cool!’”

• Her Georgiana moment: “I did run into the girl who threw me down a flight of stairs. We were coming out of a restaurant and there was a wall of like 20 paparazzi. They were probably waiting for Paris Hilton and I just happened to come out. I have never before or since said something like this, because it’s so disgusting, but I turned to her and was like, ‘Oh, I’m sorry. I’m really famous. They need to take my picture. Sucks for you.’”

• She’s never tried drugs: “The cocaine!” I call it ‘the weed.’ I’m drug dumb. I don’t know sh*t about drugs. I just don’t do that because I would never do anything to—God forbid—ruin my career. I value my career … I’ve been in situations where I’ve been petrified of putting my purse down because I was traveling the next day and I knew that there was stuff [drugs] on the counter. I’m just overly paranoid.”

Mercy, you had a really fantastic fifth birthday! Madonna dropped over $2,000 for your party!

Being Madonna‘s little girl sure has its perks!  Little Mercy James, Madonna’s adopted daughter from Malawi, had her fifth birthday at Kidville on Columbus Avenue in NYC.  

The venue offers a “Big Blowout Birthday Party” for $2,195, which includes shutting down the entire private party zone for a two-hour party, a party with pizza and juice for 20 kids, a personalized birthday cake, balloons, a jumpy castle, and, of course, four ”birthday party leaders” to deal with the kids and the mess.

Page Six reports that Jessica Seinfeld brought her daughter (with Jerry Seinfeld) Sascha to the party. And while Mercy had a TON of options for her party theme, we wonder if she followed her super famous mom’s footsteps and chose the “Boogie-Down Dance Party” or the “Calling All Future Oscar Winners Party!”

In 2009, Madonna adopted Mercy, (the English translation of her birth name, Chifundo) from an orphanage in Malawi.  After a long battle to adopt her, Madonna was able to take little Mercy home last summer.
