Christina Aguilera, 31, may be a worldwide pop star, but she also loves to get down and dirty at the pumpkin patch! The Voice judge and her boyfriend Matthew Rutler, 27, were spotted taking Christina’s son Max Bratman, 4, to the Mr. Bones Pumpkin Patch in West Hollywood on Oct. 14.

The adorable mother-son pair spent the day searching for the perfect fall pumpkin, and Christina’s beau tagged along for the journey.

Although she wasn’t in costume, the doting mom showed up rocking bright pink florescent strands — a slight transition from the softer purple strands she showed off in September.

Max, who is Christina’s son from her marriage to ex-husband Joran Bratman, wore a Halloween-appropriate skeleton hoodie.

Rumors swirled when the three-year-old was spotted with a nasty black eye at LAX on Tuesday, August 23. Some even suggested his mom was to blame!

There’s a much more innocent explanation to Max Bratman‘s badly bruised face — he tripped while chasing squirrels in the park! It looks painful — get well soon Max!Gossips speculated that the tot’s injuries were linked to mom Christina Aguilera‘s “erratic behavior and alleged booze-filled outings,” reports TMZ.com.

But the singer has told friends Max fell over while playing with a nanny last week and landed on a rock. Ouch!

A source tells TMZ the brave little boy was taken to a doctor who confirmed there were no broken bones or stitches required.

And there’s no suggestion Christina is anything other than a caring mommy. The source insists, ”Christina is a great mom … Max is her #1 priority.”

The singer has only been dating production assistant Matt Rutler for about seven months, but they’re already living together!

Now Christina Aguilera admits 25-year-old boy toy Matt and her son Max, 3, have quickly become best buddies. Isn’t this all a bit fast?!

“Matt and Max! It’s like M&M! They’re buddies.” Christina, 30, tells Us Weekly. “If my son didn’t sit well with him, then I wouldn’t sit well with him. Matt’s someone he can have fun with and have some laughs with. And ultimately, my son’s happiness is really important. But I’m not looking for anyone to come in and fill the perfect family white-picket-fence. Me and my little boy are a great team, and Matt has been such a great support.”

Christina shares custody of Max with ex-husband Jordan Bratman, and insists they have a great arrangement: “The bigger picture is Max and working together (with Jordan). I love the fact that Jordan and I are strong parents separated, and we both have a positive influence on his life.”

We wonder how Jordan feels about his son’s new ‘stepdad/buddy’. Is it good that Max has another strong male role model in his life — or is it all a bit too much, too soon?

She’s trying to spend as much time as possible with him while she works, so Max brought his toys and played with his little cars while she did the shoot.” Sounds like Christina is putting family first, which is fantastic news!

We’re glad Jordan Bratman has stepped up to take care of his son Max after Christina Aguilera’s arrest for public intoxication on Tuesday, March 1.

We were shocked when we heard that newly single Christina Aguilera was arrested in the early hours of March 1, with her new beau Matthew Rutler, and booked for public intoxication. And not only was she drinking, but she was sitting in the passenger seat of a car being driven by a drunk driver — who happened to Matt. Why would you ever put your life at risk like that, Christina? You have a 3-year-old son to think about!  

Thankfully, your son Max has a confidant in daddy Jordan Bratman, who spent the afternoon of March 1 with the tiny tot, playing in a Los Angeles park.

“I’m a mom first. I have to spend as much time as possible with my son,” Christina, 30, told HollyBaby.com after she filed from divorce from Jordan. So if being mom to Max comes first, why are you out during all hours of the night getting drunk with your new boyfriend?

We just hope Christina will get her act together and quit partying so much. Having fun is not the problem, putting herself at risk at risk is.
