Bio:
Matilda Rapaport (born on January 29, 1986 in Stockholm, Sweden) was a Swedish professional freestyle skier. She began skiing as a child in one of the local ski clubs because her family would ski during every holiday. At 15 years old, Matilda moved to Järpen to race larger and longer slopes and go to high school. At 20, Matilda returned to Stockholm to attend Stockholm School of Economics. At around the same time, she began freeskiing. In 2008, she went on an exchange program to St. Gallen, Switzerland to move closer to the Alps. The one semester turned into four years. She has since competed on the Freeride World Qualifier Tour for many years and won the 2013 Verbier Extreme. She also won the Scandinavian Big Mountain Championship in 2011. On July 14, 2016, Matilda was severely injured in an avalanche while filming scenes for a video game in Chile. She suffered from oxygen deprivation and brain damage. She succumbed to her injuries on July 20.

Personal Life:
Matilda met her husband, alpine World Cup racer Mattias Hargin, during her time in Järpen. The couple were married this spring. She was featured in many freaks movies such as Shades of Winter, Pure and the upcoming film, Between. She was also a contributor to Women’s Health magazine.
