When Mary Kennedy‘s body was found at her home in Bedford, NY, her fingers were between her neck and the noose implying that she may have tried to stop her suicide at the last minute.

Westchester County Medical Examiner Dr. Kunjlata Ashar confirmed to the New York Daily News that “‘the fingers from both of [Mrs. Kennedy’s] hands were between the rope and the neck.” According to the autopsy report, there was an abrasion on Mary’s finger from the rope.

Although her fingers’ placement between her neck and the rope point to an attempt to save herself, Dr. Ashar says it could simply be that “she was trying to place the rope around her neck.”

According to NYC Medical Examiner Dr. Shiya Ribowsky, this kind of evidence is extremely rare. “I have investigated many, many suicides by hanging and I’ve never seen that,” Dr. Ribowsky said. ”She may have been trying to pull the rope off.”

Dr. Ribowsky also noted that, “‘Few people would be able to do it. If she had changed her mind but was already suspended, there would be more than enough pressure to kill her. And in a hanging, the person becomes unconscious within 15 seconds.”

The doctor also added, “But she could certainly have changed her mind and may have been trying to get the rope off. It’s impossible to tell.”

The autopsy report also showed that Mary had three anti-depressants but no alcohol in her system at the time of the suicide.

Mary Kennedy committed suicide on May 16, and details of her life, days before her suicide, are finally coming to light!

According to a new report in the New York Post, Mary was forced to borrow money from the parents of her children’s friends from school! Mary’s ex-husband Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. allegedly cut her off from having any money, and Mary was left with nothing to buy groceries, gas or medical care while battling depression and alcoholism!

A source told the New York Post, ”Somebody living in a fifth-floor walk-up in The Bronx with cash could do more than she could.”

Additionally, the report suggest that Robert’s decision to cut Mary off financially was aimed at putting pressure on his wife as they figured out the details of a bitter divorce!

Robert Kennedy Jr.‘s divorce papers reveal a new, darker side to his relationship with the late Mary Kennedy. “Mary’s violence and physical abuse toward me began before we were married,” Robert alleges in the documents, which became public this weekend.

“Soon after [she] became pregnant with our first son, Mary — in a sudden rage about my continued friendship with my ex-wife — hit me in the face with her fist,’’ Bobby added. “She was a trained boxer, and I got a shiner. … Her engagement ring crushed my tear duct, causing permanent damage. Mary asked me to lie to her family about cause of my shiner.”

And the lies didn’t stop there! Mary allegedly threatened to tell police that Robert abused her if he ever left her. She also “said she intended to kill herself unless [Robert] called off the divorce and … promised to recommit to the marriage.”

But perhaps the most shocking allegation of all is that Mary killed the family dog!

Robert Kennedy Jr.’s wife, Mary, beat him up, tried to blackmail him, killed the family dog and, finally, told a servant she needed rope for a new couch — then hanged herself with it, according to a bombshell report.

If Robert F. Kennedy Jr can’t go to his wife’s memorial service then neither can his children. The New York Post is reporting that Mary Richardson Kennedy‘s family snubbed Robert by not asking him to attend her private memorial that will be held at the Standard Hotel.

Mary’s family got into a bitter battle with RFK Jr., right before the funeral over who would have the rights to her body, and Robert won. The New York Post reports that only one of Mary’s siblings attended the funeral and that his eulogy was totally self-serving.

The family is holding the private service at the hotel because she was close with the owner Andre Balazs. But since Robert wasn’t invited to attend, he took his kids to Florida to stay with their grandmother.

“He was a very terrible husband,” a friend says. “But he’s a very good father.”

Robert filed for divorce from Mary in 2010 and was fighting to get custody of their four children. She was buried near the family compound against the wishes of her family.

Though Mary Kennedy gave warning signs, like threatening suicide several times, before taking her own life by hanging herself on May 16, her estranged husband Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. said her untimely death was not his fault.

Mary Kennedy‘s suicide was beyond shocking for her family, and Kerry Kennedy — Mary’s best friend and the sister of her estranged husband Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. — gave an emotional speech to press on before the May 19 funeral in St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church in Bedford, N.Y., and HollywoodLife.com has the entire statement.

“Mary suffered from depression and it’s a disease that so many, many, many Americans suffer from,” she said. “I just think about the story of Michael, the arch angel, who had to battle the forces of evil, had to battle Satan who was trying to enter paradise. And that’s what Mary did her whole life. She was battling those demons and keeping them out of the paradise that was Mary.”

She also said that Mary’s children were the loves of her life.

“She just lived her life to the fullest,” she said. “She did everything she could for her friends and she loved her children more than anything else. Connor was her prince. Kiera, her little girl, looked exactly like Mary. On Tuesday she was talking about where Kiera was going to school and what she was going to do this summer, and she just loved her children more than anything.”

“I’m Kerry Kennedy and on behalf of my brother Bobby and Mary’s children Conner, Keira, Finn and Aiden I just want to thank everyone for all their prayers and support of our family. Mary was my very very best friend and the best friend anyone could ever imagine having we were roommates from the time I was 15 to the time we were 30 and two years later she married my brother Bobby. 

Um, she was brilliant and she was beautiful and she cared so very very deeply about everybody around her. She had friends in every corner of the globe, really deep rich rich friendships and she when we were in high school it was so amazing bc there was always a stack of papers on her desk that she was supposed to do and another stack of all the high school students who needed their papers checked for spelling and grammatical errors before they turned them in.

When we were in Brown together, she got her first failing grade of her entire life and it was in art history and she went to the professor and said why did you fail me? And he said because I’ve been working here for 30 years and I’ve never seen a freshman paper written like this so I think you plagiarised. So Mary said why don’t you give me a piece of art and I’ll write one right now and the professor said okay the Sistine Chapel. And Mary wrote a one page paper on the Sistine Chapel right there in front of the professor and he picked it up and said this is one of the most brilliant pieces of writing I’ve ever seen, and I stand corrected. 

She just lived her life to the fullest she did everything she could for her friends and she loved her children more than anything else. She took parenting classes right here and then taught the parenting classes.

Um, Conner her oldest was her prince and Kiera her little girl looks exactly like Mary and just on Tuesday she was talking about where Kiera was going to school and what she was going to do this summer. She just loved her children more than anything. 

I, Mary suffered from depression and that’s a disease that so many many Americans suffer from and I just think about the story of Michael the arch angel who had to battle the forces of evil,Satan who was trying to end her paradise. And that’s what Mary her whole life she was battling battling those demons and keeping them out of the paradise that was Mary and I just think that she was really an angel, an angel who was brought to us to live here on earth and I think God just brought her back up to heaven and said you don’t have to fight anymore and brought her to heaven where she needs to be.

Mary Kennedy‘s life will be remembered after her tragic May 16 suicide, and family and friends are paying tribute to the beloved mother.

Mary’s four kids will read scripture passages at the May 19 funeral of 250 people, the New York Post reports.

Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. has claimed the body of Mary Kennedy after she killed herself, but it almost came at the cost of her missing her own wake.

Robert, 58, claimed rights over the body to be buried near the Kennedy compound, after a court granted him the rights to the body, the New York Daily News reports.

There was a claim from her family to bring the body home with them and not have it buried near the Kennedys — what a tough situation.
