Mariska Hargitay‘s character Olivia Benson finds herself in some scary situations on the hit NBC drama Law & Order: SVU, but the actress confessed that in real life, she and her family love the scariest time of the year!

HollyBaby.com caught up with Mariska during the special New York screening of the animated film Hotel Transylvania on Sept. 22 at the Lighthouse International Theater, presented by the Peggy Siegal Company.

She came to watch the fun Halloween-themed movie with her oldest son, August, 6. She and husband Peter Hermann are also parents to Amaya, 17 months, and Andrew 14 months, whom they adopted last year.

Mariska said she and her family are “huge, huge Halloweenies,” and they already have their ideas for costumes this year! Unfortunately, she also said they are keeping their trick-or-treating outfits top secret for now.

The event hosted an after-party at Dylan’s Candy Bar, and everyone who attended had a blast with all the fall and Halloween-themed fun!

This is the second child Mariska has adopted within a year!

Law & Order: SVU actress Mariska Hargitay adopted her daughter Amaya Josephine six months ago, and now she’s welcomed a home a son, Andrew Nicolas Hargitary Hermann!

Mariska and her husband, Peter Hermann, were able to bring Andrew home within a week of processing their paperwork, according to People.

The actress couldn’t hide her joy: “We never in a million years thought it would happen this quickly, but something inside of us knew that this was right, and we said, ‘Yes, yes, yes!’”

According to Mariska, Andrew, who was born over the summer, has already bonded with sister Amaya. “They’ll lie in the crib together, and she’ll hold his hand and put her arm around him,” she said. “She’s already so protective of him.”

Two babies — plus their older brother August — might be a lot to handle, but Mariska is ready. “We knew this was our guy,” she said. “Everything about it felt right. It felt divinely right.”

The son of Mariska Hargitay turns five today. And he just became a big brother!

Born on June 28, 2006, August, the son of Mariska Hargitay and Peter Hermann, who met on the set of Law and Order: SVU, is best friends with two other celebrity tots: Debra Messing‘s son, Roman and Hugh Jackman‘s daughter Ava!

Recently, August became a big brother when his parents adopted little sister Amaya Josephine in April.

“I pride myself on being August’s mom,” Mariska has said. “I think having a baby, especially one that’s happy, levels the playing field. Regardless of our career, when it comes to being parents, we share the same profession. We are all in it together. I am always so grateful for all the moms I meet that are willing to share information. No matter how fancy our job or what people project onto you, all of a sudden you’re just a mommy and I love that.”

The two TV stars checked out Disneyland‘s newest attraction: Ariel’s Undersea Adventure. Debra brought her son Roman, 7, and new mommy Mariska brought son August, 4 1/2. They look like best buddies!

Buddies Ava and August got to hang out with the Jackman family pooch, Dali, and Mariska’s new daughter, Amaya!

Mariska Hargitay, 47, met up with her friend Hugh Jackman, 42, in New York City Sunday, April 10, to introduce the famous dad to her new baby, Amaya Josephine, who she adopted from Texas last week. Not to forget that Ava, 5, and Mariska‘s son August,4 ½, are best buds too!

Hugh has two adopted children himself, Ava and her big brother Oscar, 11, so the celebrity friends definitely have something exciting to bond over!

Mariska and her hubby Peter have been trying so hard to have another baby and now their dreams have finally come true!

Breaking news! Law & Order:SVU star Mariska Hargitay and her husband, Peter Hermann, who have been hoping to have another child, secretly adopted a baby girl, Amaya Josephine, from Texas. “I’m deliriously happy,” Mariska gushes to People. “From the minute she was born, she was just surprisingly alert and so full of love.” Amazing!

“We were considering both international and domestic adoption and we’re thrilled that this is the way our prayers were answered,” Mariska explains. “We talked a lot about mixed-race adoptions, and we are very excited that we are now a multi-racial family. We’re just so happy she’s here.”

Mariska brought home the baby girl last week and was spotted yesterday, April 6, leaving her Upper West Side home with a nanny and her new bundle of joy! Mariska and Peter already have a 4-year-old son, August, whois so excited to be a big brother! “He is over the moon. He calls her his baby because he says the whole thing was his idea,” she says. “He always talks about how he’s going to protect her. He’s going to be a great big brother.”

Law & Order: SVU has written the highest paid actress on TV out of this week’s scripts so she can enjoy spending time with her new addition. “She will not return until Monday,” a source tells Page Six. “This has been kept a huge secret on the set — somebody who was hired as a crew member was fired for tweeting about it. She went down to Texas late last week to get the baby.”

We’re so happy for Mariska and can’t wait to catch a glimpse of her new baby girl!
