Demi Lovato debuted a blond look at the FOX upfronts in New York City on May 1 where she was announced as one of the new X Factor judges. Demi, 19, is no stranger to hair transformations! Last year, she tried red hair, then went light and ultimately returned to her brunette roots.

According to sources, the starlet said this is the lightest her hair has ever been, and she wants to keep it light for her upcoming tour, which kicks off in Del Mar, Calif., next month.

Last weekend’s Golden Globes has some seriously gorgeous makeup looks on the red carpet and, while they looked amazing on camera and in pictures, you want them to work for you! Well, watch as we show you how to translate some of the Golden Globes’ hottest makeup trends on our own Chloe Melas!

In order to show you how to get the look, I went straight to celebrity makeup artist Lori Hamlin, who was worked on countless magazine shoots, fashion shows and A-listers like Padma Lakshmi, Stella McCartney, and Nina Dobrev. Here are our top picks for the universally-flattering red carpet trends and Lori’s advice on how to get them:

Smoky eyes – The secret weapon look to creating come-hither eyes, this look can literally turn any look into a red carpet masterpiece. Here, Lori gives some great advice on how to get the look but with a softer, easier appeal.

Glowing cheeks - The red carpet was awash in glowing cheeks and cream blush is the best way to get the look. Go for a pretty pink if you’ve got a light complexion, a pretty rose for medium complexions and a beautiful peach will work on olive-to-dark complexions.

Glossy pink lips – The trend du jour for almost every red carpet, this is the one trend that will continue all the way through spring. Feel free to play with this trend – it might surprise you just how many variations of the color pink there are!

Be sure to consider this gorgeous red carpet look for your next date night or night on the town. It’s pretty and, as you could see from the Golden Globes, definitely red carpet approved!

I’ve decided to add another game: the Celebrity Makeover Request. I almost always bring you photos of perfect beauty looks, but every once in a while it’s nice to look at what not to do. Today I ask you to vote for the star that should change her red carpet beauty look. Who will win? That’s up to you, BFFs!

In this corner, we have Christina Aguilera. I am a HUGE X-Tina fan, but her hair and makeup just seem so WRONG in this picture! Her extremely heavy makeup is better for stage than the red carpet and the extensions are too thin and just seem like an afterthought (and why the weird honey blonde one in the back?) Maybe she could have done a little less?

In the other corner, we have Christina Hendricks at the finale party for Mad Men. I’m not exactly what’s happening here. Her makeup looks like she did it in the car and her hair is in some weird half-up/half-down state. She’s a gorgeous woman! Could she have done a little more?

Both of these actresses have had red carpet wins but these are when they unfortunately just missed. So, who wins today’s Celebrity Makeover Request? Is it Christina Aguilera with the overdone makeup or is it Christina Hendricks who seems to have done her look last minute? Vote now!

What a difference a split makes! Christina looks like she did more than wash her husband Jordan Bratman right out of her hair- she stepped out looking hotter than ever in a post-divorce makeover?

One week after announcing her divorce from Jordan Bratman, Christina Aguilera stepped out solo in Hawaii for the opening weekend celebration of The Waikiki Edition Hotel — and OMG! Did she lose weight? Celebrity fitness and health expert John Spencer Ellis estimated that Christina dropped “a total of 10 pounds.” She was first seen sporting a TEENY coral Herve Leger mini dress. Next, she wore a fitted purple mini with pink piping that accented ALL her curves.

And both looks sported new long flowy locks! She was noticeably slimmer from just one month ago when she stepped out Sept. 25 for the The Lynda & Stewart Resnick Exhibition Gala. She looked great but much curvier then in her white chiffon gown and curly locks.

Heidi got a classic Hollywood makeover… at the expense of her eyebrows! Oh my!

Heidi Klum was on hand Sept. 8 to celebrate her September cover of CITY magazine. As told to Page Six, Klum said, “We had to completely hide my eyebrows and remake them to look like Marlene Dietrich! I give credit to my hair and makeup team on this one.” Phew!  Thank goodness it’s only temporary and not a bad wax gone awry. The iconic cover was shot by Rankin.

Heidi sparkled in a Phillip Lim sequined dress as she posed for pics at the party, which was held at the Lambs Club in New York City.
