Dylan Quick Admits: I Fantasized About Stabbing People

After his arrest, Dylan, a deaf accounting student, admitted that he had fantasized about stabbing people to death since he was in elementary school, according to the New York Daily News.

Dylan admitted to police to stabbing more than a dozen people, and that he had been planning the attack for a while. But he made another chilling confession to his prison inmate — he had really wanted to kill all of his victims, but the knife he was using broke during the deranged man’s assault.

Alan Bernstein of the Harris County Sherriff’s department confirms the attacks happened just before noon. After the attacks began, the college alerted the campus on their school website that two armed suspects were on the loose and advised students to “seek shelter in a secure location.”

The suspect was apprehended when a student at the school tackled Dylan as he left the building. The student said that the suspect appeared to be possibly hearing impaired. He also noted that the suspect was dressed in black.

Two suspects were led away in handcuffs from the North Harris Campus in Lone Star College, TX, after a school shooting. Students took shelter after two gunmen appeared on campus on Jan. 22, and three people — including the shooter — were wounded. An argument occurred between two students in the college library, which resulted in the gunfire. Both suspects are now in custody, CNN affiliates KHOU and KTRK report. HollywoodLife.com confirmed that two people received treatment from medical personnel before being taken to hospital, and a fourth person suffered from a heart attack at the scene.

The Shooting At Lone Star College Library

The shooting occurred after an argument between two people, and it happened in the school library. One shooter was injured and was taken into police custody, while the other shooter fled the scene into the nearby woods. He has since been located and taken into police custody.

The Reason For The Shooting

An unidentified student who says she witnessed some of the shooting told CNN affiliate KHOU that an argument between two people preceded the gunfire.

One of the shooters, she said, told someone: “I don’t want to fight you; I’m not trying to go to jail.” She said the shooter “actually turned away from the situation” at first but eventually pulled a gun out of a backpack. She said she heard about nine shots.

“I think it was a bunch of crap that could’ve been resolved and never should have gone that far,” the witness said.

Eye Witness Account

A freshman named Amanda Vasquez was in a classroom near the library during the shooting, and she told CNN what happened:

“I was in the academic building, waiting for English class to start. I heard about six shots, and kids started rushing down the hallway. A few came into our class. It really happened so fast,” she said.

Amanda hid under a table during the ordeal, and she believes that the shooting may have happened in the hallway near the library.

“I called my mom to (let her know) I was OK (and that) I loved her, just in case anything was going to happen,” Amanda said. “… At first she didn’t believe me … but I kept telling her it’s happening and need you to call the cops.”

The college and surrounding schools remain on lockdown, but the danger has been mitigated.

Lone Star College Campus To Re-open Tomorrow

UPDATE: The Harris County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that classes at the campus will resume Wednesday, Jan. 22 — just one day following the shooting. In a statement, Sheriff Adrian Garcia said, “I’m grateful no one was killed in this local incident. I’m grateful Lone Star College will be able to re-open tomorrow. I’m grateful for the response by our personnel and other emergency responders to this frightening act. But gratefulness is no cause for complacency in the future.”

School Shooting At Texas’ Lone Star College

School spokesman Jed Young confirmed to CNN that three people, one suspected shooter and two seemingly unintended students caught in a “crossfire”, were wounded during the shooting. The shooting occurred after an argument between two people, and it happened in the school library. The wounded suspect is in custody, while the police search for the second shooter, who is not believed to be on campus. A fourth person is said to have a heart attack, but no deaths have been reported. The danger has been mitigated.

Footage from Houston, TX CNN affiliate KRPC showed a massive number of law enforcement personnel and emergency responders swarming the entrance to the campus. A spokesman for the school has confirmed that more than 10,000 students are at the school. Investigators say that the shooting happened shortly after noon.

After being asked to take shelter, video from KRPC showed the law enforcement personnel moving people from one part of the campus to another. Another CNN affiliate, KHOU, reports that the students were filing out of the library on campus. Students were seen “jogging away” from some buildings on the grounds with their hands up in the air, which CNN presumes is in response to police instruction.

Two people have been transported to Houston Northwest Medical Center, spokeswoman Ashley Walton tells us, though she wouldn’t provide any further details about the patients.

KPRC reports that deputy constables have at least one person in custody, but they have not confirmed if that person is a suspected shooter. Investigators have said that a second suspect, an 18-to-20-year-old black male, wearing a red shirt and an Atlanta Falcons hat, fled the campus, heading north to a nearby subdivision. Deputies are actively searching for him.

A witness told KPRC that she hid underneath her desk, while she heard five or six gunshots. CNN reports that The FBI and ATF have sent agents to assist local authorities.

Texas Governor Rick Perry is being briefed about the situation by law enforcement personnel, says his spokesman.
