TV journalist Lisa Ling  gave birth to her daughter Jett Ling Song after sharing the news about her pregnancy with oncologist husband Dr. Paul Song in October.

Baby Jett was born at 1:24 p.m. on March 8 and weighed 6 lbs., 6 oz. The new parents couldn’t be any more excited about their bundle of joy!

“We feel so blessed that this day has arrived,” Lisa told Us Weekly. “We’re nervously excited to begin this next chapter in our lives with our little Jett.”

Lisa Ling’s Pregnancy Joy After Miscarriage

This wasn’t the first time Lisa had been pregnant. She unfortunately suffered a miscarriage in 2010.

“I felt more like a failure than I’d felt in a very long time,” Lisa said on The View right after her miscarraige. “When I heard the doctor say there was no heartbeat it was like bam, like a knife through the heart.”

Lisa was so “devastated” that she might lose another baby after her miscarriage, but fortunately she made it through her latest pregnancy and she has a beautiful baby girl to show for it!

The couple, who’ve been married since 2007, are sure to be great parents and to cherish every moment they have with their newborn. Lisa was trying to keep her pregnancy quiet in the beginning, but now that the baby is born, it seems like she can’t wait to share the joy of her daughter with the world!

Lisa Ling and her husband, physician and biotech firm president Paul Song, are going to be parents to a baby girl! Lisa announced her exciting news on Anderson Cooper‘s daytime talk show Anderson Live, which will air on Oct. 24.

The journalist, whose documentary series Our America currently airs on OWN, also revealed a sonogram on the talk show.

After suffering a miscarriage in 2010, the pregnancy is a happy moment for the 39-year-old and her husband of five years. She opened up on The View at the time about her devastating loss.

Shriver has publicly thanked her fans for their love on Twitter, declaring, “Thank you all for the kindness, support and compassion. I am humbled by the love. Thank you.” Lucy is among the legion of fans who finds Maria to be an inspiration.

“Maria is one of the women I admire most,” she told us. “She is brilliantly intelligent, and one of the most compassionate people I know.”

Although Maria claimed she wouldn’t be returning to the world of news media, we’re with Lisa on that one – come back, Maria!

According to the Associated Press, Lisa Ling, 37, opens up for the very first time on The View (where she worked from 1999 to 2002) set to air tomorrow (December 10) about her miscarriage six months ago, revealing that when she lost the baby, “I felt more like a failure than I’d felt in a very long time.” Losing a baby has got to be one of the worst feelings in the world. In an emotional segment, she goes on to say that she was “sort of cavalier” about the pregnancy, and that the baby was nine weeks old when doctors discovered that the fetus no longer had a heartbeat.
