Beyonce’s documentary Life Is But A Dream aired on HBO on Feb. 16, following a one-hour interview with Oprah Winfrey on Oprah’s Next Chapter. The most touching moment in the film, for us, was when Beyonce and Jay-Z sang Coldplay’s “Yellow” to each other, written by their close friend Chris Martin. They were celebrating her pregnancy and it was so adorable.

The documentary offered an inside look at the singer’s life and career — a side of her we’ve never seen before.

The HBO film shows footage of a sonogram, Beyonce’s growing bump and video of the singer posing nude as she neared her due date.

Beyonce, 31, also touches upon the miscarriage she suffered, which Jay-Z revealed in his song “Glory,” shortly after the birth of their daughter Blue Ivy.

“It was the saddest thing I’ve ever been through. My life is a journey. … I had to go through my miscarriage, I believe I had to go through owning my company and managing myself … ultimately your independence comes from knowing who you are and you being happy with yourself,” she said.

No wonder, Beyonce and Jay-Z were so overjoyed when they conceived Blue Ivy. Singing the Coldplay song only seems fitting. And there’s no doubt that the duo is madly in love with each other. Watch below! (They sing Coldplay’s “Yellow” around the 1:07:00 mark.)

Beyonce severed professional ties with her father Mathew Knowles in 2011. While many assumed it was because he cheated on Beyonce’s mother, Tina Knowles, and fathered a child outside of his marriage, there were deeper, professional issues that caused the split.

“Talk some about letting your father go as your manager,” Oprah Winfrey asks Beyonce during the one-hour interview special, which will air at 8PM ET on OWN, before her documentary debuts on HBO at 9PM ET.

Beyonce says, “It took a while for me and my dad to have an understanding. When I turned 18 and started handling my business more, he went into shock. And we had our issues. I’d say ‘No’ to something, and he’d book it anyway. Then I’d have to do it because I’d look bad [if I didn't]. We would fight sometimes, and it took about two years, to when I was 20, for him to realize, ‘Oh, she is an adult now, and if she doesn’t wanna do something, I can’t make her do it.’”

Tina filed for divorces from Mathew on November 11, 2009, after several reports about Mathew’s affair with actress Alexsandra Wright had surfaced. Alexsandra has a son, Nixon, who was proven to be Mathew’s after a paternity test was issued.

Beyonce knows how to soak up the spotlight, and that’s exactly what she did at the NYC premiere of her HBO documentary, Life Is But A Dream, in NYC on Feb. 12 at the Ziegfeld Theater. The 31-year-old looked sensational in a gorgeous Elie Saab gown from the Spring 2012 collection, complete with a sexy, sheer cutout at the chest that put her ample assets on full display.

While I loved her couture look it definitely was very dressy for the premiere — but I would expect nothing less from the star! It’s her moment and her beautiful red carpet look just solidified that. The intricate dress hugged her fantastic figure, putting her infamous curves on full display.

The last time we saw the star on the red carpet was at the Grammys in LA on Feb. 10, where she kept it more casual in a black and white Osman jumpsuit — but for her premiere she really brought out the glamour. Queen Bey is a true diva, and she looked absolutely stunning in the gown. The feminine dress was embellished with floral appliqués which allowed the star to show off a softer, more romantic side while still exuding confidence in the sexy, show-stopping look.

A bright pink lip and sleek, straight locks finished off her red carpet look. Her straight hair is very on trend, with the look showing up on so many runways during New York Fashion Week! Leave it to Queen Bey to be one step ahead of the game.

Beyonce is now the proud mother to baby Blue Ivy, almost 13 months, but she opens up in her new HBO documentary Life is But a Dream, which premieres on Feb. 16, that she had been pregnant before — and it ended in tragedy.

“About two years ago, I was pregnant for the first time,” Beyonce reveals in one scene of her documentary. “And I heard the heartbeat, which was the most beautiful music I ever heard in my life.”

Beyonce and Jay-Z, who wed in April 2008, were so excited to be parents.

“I picked out names,” Beyonce adds. “I envisioned what my child would look like . . . I was feeling very maternal.”

How Beyonce Found Out She Lost Her Baby

But when she went back for another checkup, she received horrible news.

“I flew back to New York to get my checkup — and no heartbeat,” she says in the documentary. “Literally the week before I went to the doctor, everything was fine, but there was no heartbeat.”

Beyonce: Writing New Music Was Therapy For My Miscarriage

“I went into the studio and wrote the saddest song I’ve ever written in my life,” she says in the movie. “And it was actually the first song I wrote for my album. And it was the best form of therapy for me, because it was the saddest thing I’ve ever been through.”

Beyonce doesn’t reveal which song was inspired by her miscarriage, but she went on to say that being pregnant with Blue Ivy was that much more exciting.

“Being pregnant was very much like falling in love,” she gushes. “You are so open. You are so overjoyed. There’s no words that can express having a baby growing inside of you, so of course you want to scream it out and tell everyone.”

Beyonce gives us an intimate look into her personal and professional life with her HBO autobiopic, Beyonce’s Life Is But A Dream – and reveals the anxiety she had when she was trying to hide her pregnancy from the public for months!

Beyonce also opens up about the first time she found out she was pregnant with baby Blue Ivy — and shows the never-before seen pic of her sonogram.

“I just had a feeling that something was going on… This is crazy,” she says in the video.

She also explains how she had to hide her pregnancy from the world before making the big announcement during the 2011 MTV VMAs — a mere four months before giving birth.

“They keep putting me in these tight clothes and trying to hide it. It’s very difficult. I don’t know how I’m going to get through this,” she says while showing off her tiny baby bump in the video.

Beyonce Reveals Her Softer Side In The HBO Documentary

Queen B also opens up about living the life as a mega super star in the spotlight.

“People see celebrities and they have money and fame, but I’m a human being,” she says. “I cry, I get scared, I get nervous just like everyone else.”

Beyonce captured a cell phone video of her growing baby bump in the privacy of her own home — long before she made the official announcement at the MTV VMAs in 2011. But now that clip, along with dozens of other personal footage will be released for Beyonce’s self-directed documentary special for HBO.

The singer and mom to Blue Ivy Carter, 11 months, revealed her fears in her as yet unnamed documentary for HBO — and the intimate video will give a snapshot into the superstar’s life.

The documentary shows all aspects of Beyonce’s life; performing on stage in front of thousands, a warm embrace from her husband Jay-Z and her small baby bump from her early pregnancy stages with baby Blue Ivy.

“I always battle with, ‘How much do I reveal about myself?’” she says in the teaser. “If I’m scared, be scared, allow it. Release it.”
