6-year-old cancer patient Enzo wanted to cook a meal with ‘The Barefoot Contessa’ and she couldn’t find the time. Ina tried to backtrack, but now little Enzo and his family are OVER IT!

Wow, Ina Garten has a real PR disaster on her hands! Last week it was revealed that the Make-A-Wish foundation offered to make a dream come true for adorable 6-year-old cancer patient Enzo Pereda. He asked to cook a meal with Food Network star, The Barefoot Contessa, adding that he loved to watch her show from his bed. Ina responded that she was just too busy. Then, realizing the public uproar that was happening, she tried to backtrack on Monday—calling Enzo’s family and offering for them to come to the Food Network for a cookout. But now the news has broken that Enzo’s family said NO! Wow.

“She was worried her initial reaction was hurting her business,” a source close to Ina tells Rob Shuter of PopEater. “Chefs think they are the new rock stars and no one has a higher opinion of themselves than Ina. She forgot long ago that it is the fans who make you who you are.” Ouch!

Enzo’s family decided to put an end to this nonsense and just move on from Ina. “I don’t want to put my son through all these emotions,” Enzo’s dad tells TMZ. “We’re better off just leaving everything the way it is.”

After several criticisms, the Barefoot Contessa has invited 6-year-old Enzo to cook with her on set of her show.

After six-year-old Enzo was diagnosed with acute leukemia, he was approached by the Make-A-Wish foundation to make a wish. Enzo said he really wanted to cook with The Barefoot Contessa, Ina Garten because he often watched the show from his bed. The foundation approached Ina, but she responded that she was too busy with a book tour. Now, she has made the time to be with Enzo and invited him to the Food Network studios. Great news!The Make-A-Wish foundation reports that she is currently making plans to see little Enzo! Yay, we’re so happy you are doing the right thing, Ina!

Originally, Make-A-Wish asked Enzo to pick another wish, but he said he wanted to wait until Ina was available. Now TMZ reports that the organization went back to Ina again this year and her response was a “definite no,” citing scheduling conflicts. A member of Enzo’s family says when Enzo found out Ina said no again, he said, “Why doesn’t she want to meet me?” Oh come on, Ina! Surely you could’ve squeezed this in??

Two other celebrity chefs caught wind of the story and have now stepped-up and said they’d love to cook a meal for little Enzo! Food Network stars Beau MacMillan and Michael Symon both reached out to Enzo’s family—Beau has even offered to fly the whole family to Arizona and put them up in a five-star resort for a week!

So what happened here? Was this some kind of misunderstanding? Or did Ina really say no to this adorable little boy??

Thanks to his dad’s Facebook friend, 4-year-old Ted Rice is getting treatment for leukemia, a diagnosis that would still be a mystery if it wasn’t for a photo. Ted’s dad Philip was extremely concerned about a rash on his son’s face, so he decided to post a picture of it. A physician friend, Dr. Sara Barton saw the photo on the social networking site. Her reaction was immediate: Get him to the hospital right away.

Philip, an anaesthetic assistant, took Ted to Salford Royal Hospital, where he works, and within a few hours later, he and his wife Sara were given the heartbreaking news that the rash was a sign of cancer and that Ted was battling acute lymphocytic leukemia.

“I had that gut feeling when something is wrong,” said Philip. “Looking back, in my heart of hearts, I knew what was going on but I was so frightened I couldn’t admit it to myself.” But despite the gut-wrenching news, Philip and Sara believe that the Facebook exchange has given Ted a fighting chance.

Ted’s parents initally began to worry when they noticed he was often “out of sorts” and tired. He had an “odd looking” bruise and would randomly get minor nosebleeds. But when the rash appeared on November 25 of last year, Phillip became extremely concerned. That’s when he decided to take a mobile picture of it and send it to Dr. Barton.

Ted, who has a 2-year-old sister Pippa, has already gone through three months of chemotherapy and will continue the treatment routine for three years. He has lost all of his hair and needs a wheelchair to get around, but Philip and Sara are confident he will be strong enough to attend pre-school. And just like a devoted father would do, Philip has shaved his head to match Ted’s.

Rihanna, thanks for NOT being all talk, no action. The 22-year-old singer is enlisting YOUR help in the battle again cancer, and wants you to become a bone marrow donor like she is!

“I first became involved with [bone marrow donor organization] DKMS Americas after hearing about Lisa Flinn. She was a young mother of two, and thinking about her children having to live without their mother broke my heart,” the Umbrella singer told Teen Vogue. “So many young people think they are not important and what they do doesn’t matter, but it is! They need to know how important it is to get involved and start saving lives.”

70% of people with leukemia who are saved by bone marrow donations get their help from strangers — something Rihanna says is easier to do than you realize. “It is so simple to register and just by doing so, you could save someone’s life. That’s amazing!” she enthused.

Have you ever had to say goodbye to someone you loved? Rihanna expresses her sorrow after her young pal Jasmina loses her battle with cancer

Rihanna fought to save Jasmina Anema for the last year, but unfortunately, the 6-year-old died from leukemia on Jan. 27.

“I am incredibly heartbroken that Jasmina has passed away. She was such a brave and special child. She showed more strength and spirit than many adults I have met. I feel blessed that I was able to have her in the my life, and I know that through her example she has saved many lives. She was truly an angel on earth,” Rihanna, 21, said in a statement that she posted on her website Jan. 28.

Although other famous folk like President Barack Obama and the members of Destiny’s Child were Jasmina’s celebrity friends, Rihanna was an exceptionally strong supporter, even helping to launch a blood drive that led to a matching bone marrow donor in 2009.

Jasmina Anema, the brave little girl who struggled to beat leukemia for the past year died on Wednesday, Jan. 27. Her mother, Thea Anema, announced the tragic news via her blog, the Caring Bridge, that was set up to manage the deluge of Jasmina supporters, who included Rihanna, all the members of Destiny’s Child and even President Barack Obama.

The kindergartner was doing well following a successful bone-marrow transplant in 2009, but in late September doctors told her mother that the cancer had returned. Late Monday, Jan. 25, she was admitted to a New York City hospital and was eventually diagnosed with pneumonia of the lungs.

On Wednesday night, just hours before Jasmina’s death, Thea’s best friend Karen Detrick wrote a blog alerting followers of her condition, “Jasmina’s antibiotics are not working so her lungs are filling up with fluids. Her situation right now is critical. The doctors are trying to get the situation under control but Thea will have to make a difficult decision if this does not work,” Karen told People.com.

President Obama released a statement honoring the little girl’s memory. “Jasmina showed tremendous bravery in the face of adversity, and her ability to stay positive throughout her battle and was an inspiration to me and to all those she touched,” said Barack.

Jasmina, you’ll truly be missed.
