HollywoodLife.com chatted with ‘Lemonade Mouth’ star Adam Hicks and learned six new things about the 18-year-old triple threat!

Playing Wen in the Disney Channel original movie Lemonade Mouth, Adam Hick‘s acting and rapping talents are obvious, but did you know he’s a songwriter, too? The Las Vegas native wrote three original songs for the movie, which was unprecedented for a Disney star. HollywoodLife.com caught up with Adam about his start as an entertainer (he started rapping in elementary school!), what he does every night before bed and where he wants to take his career. Keep reading to learn more about Adam!

Adam’s songwriting is a Disney-first: “There’s a write-up that pretty much says that I’m the only Disney kid to write in any movie so that was awesome.”

His first fans were his elementary-school classmates: “My fourth-grade talent show, I did this rap in front of the whole school. My D.A.R.E. essay was a rap.”

His role as Tom Sawyer in the school play lead to his big-break: “There were people there from local agencies and I got picked up by a local agency and I started doing local gigs and then I got an offer from an agent in California. So I went out there and met him and I just been climbing up the ladder.”

He’s inspired by the classics: “I like the Rolling Stones, all of their albums, I like Ziggy Stardust. As far as rap, I’m an old school guy like Big L, Biggie Smalls.”

He’s a bookworm: “I read every night before bed. I’m a big history guy so I don’t really have a lot of go-to books, I kind of read and move on.”

He wants to be a college boy: “I would like to go to a real college instead of going online. I would like to go to New York, probably.”

The 20-year-old performer sings, plays instruments, dances and shows off some major acting chops in her role as the rebellious and creative Stella. HollywoodLife.com caught up with Hayley about her background in show biz (she’s been performing since she was a toddler), her favorite not-so-guilty TV pleasure, her musical idols and much more. Before Hayley acted, she was a competitive dancer: ”I love dancing, but I don’t just want to be a back up dancer for the rest of my life. Acting has been a new passion that kind of just developed through the last few years.”
She would make a great action starlet: “I’ve done karate my whole life. I’d love to hold a rifle and walk in slow mo and kick people’s butts. I’m a black belt.”
She loves chill music: “Fiona Apple, Adele are my number one artists.”
She loves fashion: “I’ve always wanted to have my own fashion line and kind of like become a brand. I’m an official triple threat — it’s definitely not forced.”
Hayley is a huge Grey’s Anatomy fan: “I proudly watch Grey’s Anatomy, like every single week. Phone are turned off. If you speak, you are not my friend!”
She wants to go to college: “I was accepted to NYU right after I graduated, but then I deferred for a year. College is definitely at the top of my list.”
