Law & Order: SVU has released a promotional video for its upcoming Feb. 27 episode titled “Funny Valentine.” The episode tells the story of a singer who was beaten by her hip-hop star boyfriend, and yet remains inexplicably drawn to him. Sound familiar? The show it putting its usual “ripped-from-the-headlines” twist on Chris Brown and Rihanna‘s 2009 incident.

We are all aware of the unfortunate incident between Chris and Rihanna in 2009. Rihanna’s physical and emotional wounds may have healed, but Law & Order: SVU is bringing back some painful memories in their next episode! Though the episode is not officially based on the singers’ relationship, it tells a story that is very obviously inspired by them. Hopefully RiRi and Chris will continue sharing their love for one another in spite of the episode!

The show has put in place a major twist at the end to help destroy the parallel being drawn between the celebrity couple and the fictional episode. Spoiler alert! In the end, the male star who resembles Chris is murdered!

ADA Barba (guest star Raul Esparza) works to build a case, but the victim refuses to aid the prosecution and, despite Detective Benson’s (Mariska Hargitay) best efforts, continues to put herself in danger. The case quickly spirals into a media circus, perpetrated by both the defendant and his uncompromising attorney (guest star Jeffrey Tambor). …Special appearances by Perez Hilton, Dave Navarro and Wendy Williams.”

Elisabeth loves to hear her daughter say, ‘let’s hit it!’ It means they’re about to take on an adventure and create memories that will last forever!

Actress Elisabeth Röhm has started a new tradition with her daughter Easton that makes her feel closer to the 2-year-old. “Easton and I have started a ritual — one that I hope sticks with us until we are having Eat, Pray, Love moments well into her thirties,” the 37-year-old Law & Order actress tells People. “We have come to love our road trips!” What do you do to bond with your tots, HollyMoms?

Getting away from everything is very much needed by this mother-daughter duo. “Just like date night or a girly routine of some kind, Easton and I are seeking some R&R, some alone time that’s all about she and I — a chance to see each other without life’s little tasks getting in the way and distracting us,” Elisabeth explains. “For her that would be Scooby-Doo, and for me it might be some work-related something that will still be there when we return from our hour, afternoon or slumber party at some destination a few hours from home.”

Being out on the road brings them closer together. “It is deeply satisfying sharing special memories that are ours alone,” Elisabeth says. “We are creating a thread of consistency and discovery that we can share for a lifetime.”

The experience allows Elisabeth to understand Easton’s wants and needs. “Really listening, catching the hints of who they are, knowing them and accepting that maybe they are different from us and seeing these nuances in their personalities is also a part of our promise of parenting,” she notes.

Elisabeth gained 75 pounds when she was pregnant!

Besides, “there is something to be said about singing loudly to tunes in the car, the wind blowing through our hair as we take off to see a corner of the world — or at least our neighborhood,” Elisabeth adds.

While visiting the set of Law & Order: Los Angeles (LOLA), I got all the dirt on what to expect from the new series – and what you WON’T be seeing (sorry, Justin Bieber)!

Law & Order is NOT just a show your parents might watch, especially with the content you’re about to see this season on the series’ latest installment, which is set in Los Angeles. The L&O crew is shooting for a younger demographic – and they’re going to get it if the show’s premiere is any indication – it revolves around a hard-partying starlet with an overly involved mama. Smells like Lindsay and Dina Lohan to me!

“Actually, the first episode is kind of that, but we are not going to be a celebrity of the week type show,” Executive Producer Rene Balcer reassured me of the Lindsay-inspired show when I visited the LA set Sept. 22, adding, “After the first episode, we’ll have stories about real people. I hate to say it that way, but it will be much more relatable-type folks after the first episode.”

So does that mean we won’t be seeing 16-year-old singing sensation Justin Bieber on a future episode, despite his impressive ratings on CSI? “You know, that is more kind of like [Law & Order] SVU. They have made a specialty of that with the big guest star – and they do it well – but to distinguish ourselves its not something [we want to do], like getting Betty White to be a slasher. Maybe a flasher but not a slasher!” he laughed.

I think that the show, which stars our own personal HollyHunk, Skeet Ulrich, as well as Alfred Molina, Terrance Howard and Regina Hall, looks like it will be a staple for a long time on NBC. So tune in tonight, Sept. 29, at 10 PM and check it out – I promise you won’t be disappointed!

Listening to music at an early age is believed to make children smarter. HollyMoms — do you agree with this concept?

Many mommies believe that musical influences during childhood are imperative to early development. Law & Order‘s Elisabeth Röhm, 37, is one of those parents who believes in this wholeheartedly. “Music is really important for their development,” Elisabeth told HollyBaby.com exclusively at the Juno Jr. Launch event at FAO Schwarz in NYC on Sept. 25. “Music helps [2-year-old daughter Easton] express herself.”

When “she’s singing, she feels comfortable to express herself when she’s sad or frustrated or happy or excited,” Elisabeth explained. “Music really gives children the ability to feel and know how to express their feelings through singing.”

“You’re dealing with toddlers, so you’re dealing with learning and feelings on another level,” added Elisabeth.

She is delighted that Easton is “very musically inclined.” “She has really taken to the piano,” Elisabeth gushed. “She just loves music in general. So whether it’s rock ‘n’roll or Lady Gaga, she tends to bop around to whatever we’re listening to.” Aww!

NBC cancels ‘Law & Order’ after 20 seasons! We really hope another network can pick it up!

It appears that after 20 seasons, one season short of becoming television’s longest running scripted program, NBC may be pulling the plug on Law & Order. Now, as our sister site Deadline Hollywood is reporting, this is a very, very complicated issue but here is what they are hearing. It is rumored that in March NBC indicated to series creator Dick Wolf it would bring back the show for a record 21st season, but negotiations fell apart over budget issues and now the network is pulling the series. One hope was for the show to go to TNT, like NBC show Southland recently did, or that TNT help finance the show with NBC in exchange for getting syndicated episodes of the show. Then that fell apart. Then, it was said by one source that NBC demanded Dick kick in to help “finance the pickup of Law & Order out of all the money he’s made.” He said no. Oh, and as if this wasn’t complicated enough there are some who are saying this is all a ploy by Dick to pressure NBC to keep the show on the air by spurring fan outrage. NBC has just now released a statement saying they will be canceling the long running show!

I may not understand all the inner workings of television, and I realize there are like 17 Law & Order spin-offs on the air (in truth two, Law & Order: SVU and Law & Order: Criminal Intent, and one on the way, Law & Order Los Angeles), but I really think that NBC and Dick need to figure out a way to keep the original on the air! The ratings may be low but we have all, and I mean all, at least spent one Saturday watching 12 straight hours of Law & Order programming. In fact, 9 times out of 10 when I am trying to figure out where I know an actor from it is a Law & Order program. And what about all the great actors and guest stars the show brings us! Everyone has been on Law & Order at some point!

So whether it’s TNT, USA, or even Lifetime for all I care, I hope some network will continue to run new episodes of this show. Maybe they can strike a deal with MTV and combine some shows. Law & Order: Jersey Shore anyone?
